So far, so good. It certainly hasn’t overheated here but it is winter in the UK so it’s pretty cold outside! In different climates it may be a different story!
Nice review. I have a question: am I losing my mind or is it true that it is not possible to disable UI mirroring over HDMI output?? There is a “Live Mode” toggle but it does not disable UI mirroring. Since using any function calls up the UI display, it is not possible to use any monitor function (such as, for example, peaking, crop, etc) without sending the UI overlay to the live stream. They added useless leg stretching function and advertise it as live streaming monitor but did not figure out how to feed out a clean uninterrupted HDMI signal???
Yep, there is a way to just get the image if that is what you are referring to with no UI. I'm not currently with the monitor as I'm away from the studio but I believe it is a setting on the monitor, but may be on the camera... I can't fully remember but I do know 100% you can get a clean HDMI signal
@@LucasJohnsonFaustino Thank you for your answer. Are you sure? I hope it is not a misunderstanding. I know it is possible to send a clean feed over the HDMI from the monitor, BUT that is only if you don’t touch the monitor and don’t access its functions while streaming, otherwise every time the menus/UI appear on the monitor, they are also sent out through the HDMI output and since it is a touchscreen monitor, it is not possible to access any function without the monitor displaying the UI, you could of course turn every function on before the stream starts and never change them, but that is very limiting. For example, you start streaming and decided you want to check focus and enable peaking, or punch in - doing so will display the UI and send it to the output/stream. Not sure I understand the camera setting suggestion. Why would that be a camera setting? The mirrored UI elements are those of the monitor, not the camera.
@@deepseadiver8191 Ahhh yes now I understand the full extent of what you're saying. Yep that is a really rubbish feature of this monitor, I don't think there is a way of switching it off. Very annoying!
The worse monitor is the one that you can see due to the lack of brightness. Being said that the portkey pack some really nice features but nothing that overpass other monitors under $169 that has the exact features, brighter screens and no touch screen but hey the worse monitor is the one you can’t see so everything else can be figured out in the go
It’s a decent monitor. Wish it was brighter just in case, but I like that there’s no fan and the battery consumption is low (which is most important to me). Overall, I couldn’t find a better monitor sub $500 Great vid, brother!
it works solidly, gives you a few different variations of anamorphic desqueeze. I haven't used an anamorphic lens on it though so I can't give a fully backed opinion but the feature appears well
I think it would, I have a Zhiyun Crane with another handle that could fit the monitor attachment. You're right it would be much better than the factory screen.
I was surprised that you didn't have a link to the camera monitor.
1k 🎉🎉🎉 well done mate
Thank you!!
Here's the link for those of you asking! amzn.to/3YFXEIV
Hey, hows using the monitor so far? I have read about the high temps and visibility issues on outdoors usage. Thanks
So far, so good. It certainly hasn’t overheated here but it is winter in the UK so it’s pretty cold outside! In different climates it may be a different story!
This looks like a pretty solid option! I like how slim it is and I’d definitely consider this, if I didn’t already have my Feelworld F6 Plus!
Certainly! I love the size of this! The feelworld I hear is also a solid option too!
What battery would you advice. Got an Sony Smallrig NP F 970 but it’s extremely heavy
Any other solutions?
You can try smaller NPF batteries, I am using an NPF970 as well
Can you connect this device to a smart phone?
I don’t believe so. It is intended for dedicated cameras only. However to validate that answer check their website for the compatibility charts!
@LucasJohnsonFaustino reason im asking is because i have cable that is hdmi c port to hdmi, so i was wondering
@@abgarza911 in that case I don’t know! Not sure I can test that as I don’t have that cable unfortunately!
Thank you. Just ordered.
Glad I was so convincing!
Awesome looking monitor👌🏽
It is isn’t it?!
thanks for the info
Thanks for watching!

The Stretch Legs feature is pretty pointless, I admit

Can I monitor on this if I set my camera to 4k 60fps on my sony a7iv? Or it is limited to monitor for 4k 30 only?
Yes still works to monitor 4k 60 as it's just showing you what's on screen
Can you record your evf with this monitor?
nope. this monitor has no recording function
@@LucasJohnsonFaustino Thanks

Great vid, brother!
Thank you! definitely can't complain too much for the price about it at all!
does it still record when shooting 4k60 on Sony a7iv?
This monitor has no recording function, so the regular recording functions of the A7iv are all available.
So can I monitor if I set my camera to 4k 60fps?
Hey, I thought it could record by using the USB ? Or am I wrong?
Do you know of any way to mount this vertically with just the one mounting point?
You may be able to do this with some sort of cage? Not sure if that sort of cages exists though unfortunately!
How is the custom anamorphic desqueeze display on this monitor?

what is the differance between this and the pt5 ii?
I haven't tried the PT5 ii so I wouldn't know unfortunately!
Link?
Should've added this amzn.to/3YFXEIV
Thoughts on the PT6? Would this fit onto your setup?
I think it would, I have a Zhiyun Crane with another handle that could fit the monitor attachment. You're right it would be much better than the factory screen.
it's not working on lower frame rates. waste of money dude!
@@basicPROcreator what do you mean by that it’s not working?
Guys! tell you the truth about this Portkeys PT6, it's not working on lower frame rates.
What do you mean by this. It works on every frame rate?
@@LucasJohnsonFaustino no. it's not working on 30 and 25. I used it last night for 8 hours event. and it's only working on 50 and 60
