I loved my stay at the Guesthouse. I was there right when it opened. The customer service was amazing!! And, of course, it was beautifully decorated and felt very Elvisy. We were there when the Christmas lights were turned on. It was magical.
15:31 Priscilla picked out all the decor.

Best video EVER Micah,I'm 52 yrs old and sadly have never been inside the gates of Graceland. I had a stroke a few years ago and I probably will never make it there(I hope I'm wrong) but if I don't make it I can see at least what it's like in Uncle Elvises place. Yeah I know he is not my real uncle but my whole life I have pretended he is my uncle I never got to meet bc I learned so much from him through his music and let's be real his natural coolness so ty very much!!!!!

    OH MY
ELVIS would have been 90 last Wednesday
I remember the day the 🌍heard he had died🙏🙏🙏🙏😭😭
It was 2 days before my 12th birthday
My Mom died in 2019 and I had already retired from work so my plan was to book a 3 week holiday to come to Memphis in 2020.
But i came in April 2023 with a party of like minded ELVIS fans
We stayed at the Guest House for 7 days and toured the places connected to ELVIS
It was sad seeing the grave of Benjamin but doubly so for Lisa Marie😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
The next 7 days flew to Hawaii and did the same
The last 3 days flew to Seattle and did the same
It was a holiday of a lifetime
I doubt I will get back to Graceland as I have done health issues since

When I stayed there, I loved going to the huge movie theatre in the hotel and watching Viva Las Vegas. I also watched the '68 Comeback Special in my room while I was there. I also liked that, one night, there was karaoke in the restaurant.

I drove from Lake County, FL to Little Rock last month, but on the way stayed in Tupelo and did the Elvis stuff there and then went to Graceland and did that whole thing. Sure, admission for the tours are kinda pricey, but I loved all of it and would do it again. Also, not a huge Elvis fan, but a fan of music and history in general. The billiards room is my favorite.

Yes. I believe Graceland had its museum in and around it in storefronts before they built the new facility. (That is what was there when I visited.) So, they likely are planning to bulldoze it down now that the new building is up and running.

@susanashook3803 I find it harder to believe that Gladys Presley who adored her son Elvis would have given his twin up for adoption. That's preposterous. The Presleys were dirt poor and the best they could do was put little Jessie to rest in the ground near their home.

It was really surprising to me when I went to Memphis to see how non-touristy everything was. I was kind of expecting it all to be done up like Disney World with a gift shop around every corner. But it wasn't like that. It was really nice and simple and quite real. So, it doesn't surprise me that no one has done anything with Vernon's home.

  • @debra2700
    @debra2700 День назад

The Dojo was closed because Spa Guy (Billy Stallings) got into a fight with his partner Patrick who sided with Billy and Jo Smith's son Joey and they were going to take it to court to get everything settled. It started when Spa Guy set up a night at the last theater that Elvis, Ginger, Lisa Marie and the Smiths saw a movie at just before Elvis died and Spa Guy claimed it was at the Southbrook Mall Theater and the Smiths insisted that it was at the White Haven theater. Spa Guy proved it was at the Southbrook (even Ginger wrote in her 2016 book that it was the Southbrook) and the White Haven theater wasn't even showing the movie the Smiths claims they saw, The Spy Who Loved Me. This happened almost 50 years ago and the Smiths who are in their late 70s and 80s act like they can recall everything when they clearly can't. It was a mess and I lost interest but it's very sad that petty people prevented the fans from having a piece of Elvis history to go to in Memphis.
