There are many with no standards in hearing/speaking/writing in the States (and in UK also) and they tend to be fearless in showing their arrogance, racism, agism, sexism, or of all these stupidities.
METAL INDO-CURRY Right, but I'm pretty sure that most of those who tease Su-metal about r/l pronunciation must be from Japan or Korea, where idky but we were forced to teach r pronunciation in a unique way which was much like Spanish r in English class. So many of East Asians recognize r just with trill no matter what part in mouth you use for it (hence they can’t hear the l with trill that Su and Rob himself have done in that song). I know some uneducated cowboys and racists, who don’t know or care what is correct, also have joined the stupid activities though.

Great reaction, guys! I love the time you take to comment on different parts and the open-mindedness you've shown towards BABYMETAL!
There are many sides to BM. For one, they are in a kind of a weird position, where they still perform in smaller venues (2-3k) on their world tour, while also playing the large (60k) international festivals AND staging, for instance, two sold-out, 55k capacity, arena shows with insane production levels, back in Japan. Technically and performance wise, they knock it out of the park every time, relative to the occasion. But their shows in Japan - and once in Wembley Arena, London - are something special; with a lot of theatrics, crazy stage design and production, a lot of pyro and visuals. Below, a couple of links to great examples of this.
Road of Resistance, Live in Japan - ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html - Warning, there's an 'audience participation', "whoho-o-hoo", part in there. ;-) But, I think you'll find it impressive in this setting.
Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan, Black Night) - ruclips.net/video/QxYAcIyk2Co/видео.html - Which has a 3 1/2 minute band solo intro that will make you appreciate how good the Kami-band - what their backing band is called - are.
Sis Anger - www.dailymotion.com/video/x5nx7sk - A Black Metal song by only the two girls on the side, Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi), without the lead singer, Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto). They have a couple of tracks between themselves and Su has a couple of solos of her own. (Like Rondo of Nightmare).
As far as their musical diversity goes, they have songs that are heavily infused with pop, like Gimme Chocolate!, Iine!, Doki Doki Morning or Awadama Fever, to Speed/Power-Metal (Road of Resistance), Viking/Battle-Metal (Meta Taro), Black-Metal (Sis Anger), Power-Ballad (No Rain, No Rainbow) or chugging Djent like Karate. Doki Doki Morning - ruclips.net/video/cirhQ8iLdbw/видео.html - This was their first song, from 2011, when the girls were 11 and 13... They're 20 - the lead singer - and (almost) 19 now (in June/July). They were tiny and, be warned, there's a possibility of suffering Kawaii-shock when watching this. :-D

The crowd interaction thing is a Babymetal hallmark. They do it several times in every show. You should check out Headbanger or Road Of Resistance next. Its usually better to do live versions with Babymetal because that is where they really shine.

Unfortunately one of the guitarists died in January. But you should watch road for resistance in Japan. That one is my favorite.

No lip sync is taken for any of the three since their 2014 world tour including the legendary performance for Sonisphere Festival. Yeah you are right about the Gimme Chocolate vid it's a live vid covered by the CD track tho.
Once again, I felt like BabyMetal took you away from the cynicism to a notable degree. You seem to have embraced them with appreciation and that makes me happy. Even the rain stopped just long enough and then started again at the right time in the song. They have the very forces of nature cooperating with them. If it's any consolation, rather than 15, Su was 18 and Yui and Moa were less than a month away from 17 during that performance. :D
That photo of them with Abbath really cracks me up. Yui looks like she's gazing adoringly at King ov Hell (but she's actually trying to take his soul).

I would recommend Road of Resistance. Most people will suggest the live in Japan version, but that has an extended call and respond section that seems to go on a little to long in my opinion. The RSR fest 2016 is a great version and the call and respond section is considerably shorter. There should also be less copyright issues with RSR fest video.
Yes agree Headbanger live ,legend 1997 version, is MUST SEE guys.

Gimme Chocolate is a great video. There is a commenter who just likes live videos. Studio videos are great; lives are great. Old is great (if more EDM), and new is great. Common denominator: BABYMETAL.

that part yall didn't like with the crowd singing reminded me of Freddy Mercury when he'd yodel with the crowd. Not sayin she's Freddy, but she got the crowd into it more.
You guys should check out ijime dame zettai live at sonissphere live it's the song that made them internationally recognized as No one at the festival had heard of them before but so quickly did the crowd love them
Megistune all day long...its bad ass. If you watch the live version obviously you get to see the real band playing and in the studio video you get the fake band...BUT the studio video gives you an idea of the girls personalities a bit better as they are really having fun with it. Also there is one thing that Su-Metal does in the studio version that is so friggin cool its worth a watch. The music is CRAZY good!

the official live version also gets blocked quite often. the only Road of Resistance version that doesn't get blocked is the one from RSR Fes
I just think the official version is the best performance of RoR. They had a huge stage for it.
They didnt like the call-answer. RoR, specially on the official one, has a huge call-response part (almost 2 minutes)... I'd vote for the RSR version

Lol, "don't act like you know what she was saying". That part was in English, granted she had an accent. The lead singer "Su-metal" actually practiced English a lot so she could talk to fans during live shows and also for interviews.

You guys did fine with the Gimme Chocolate video and this is a great version of Karate live, however, it's the one Official studio video you should check out still. You've had your intro...now go to Sis Anger, or Headbanger, or Megitsune, or From Dusk till Dawn...the One, Road to Resistance. You've hit the 'radio' songs so to speak, now its time to get real. Su-metal Death crucifixion would be a good one to do next. Time to get real with it.
Hit the live versions with Kami Band from here on out, save the Karate official video...and I forgot Awadami Fever and Catch Me If You Can as great songs from them.

Hahaha... so.. you don't like the call and response part of the song... let me ask you this... when you were 17, did you ever COMMAND 90,000 people to react to what you say and repeat what you said??? Su-metal did... in the video you just reacted to....and yes, she was only 17 at the time...
As a download regular I can tell you that there's absolutely no chance there's 90,000 people there. There's never more than 60,000-70,0000 and that's for the headline acts. Babymetal's set was early in the day and the conditions were terrible (rain, hail etc.). Still a massive crowd and still very impressive, but not 90,000. I'd be surprised if there was even half of that

@@indyjohn59 Mate I was literally there. I saw this exact performance. There wasn't 90,000 there for it. Around 100,000 attend the festival over the course of the weekend, yes, but there's never that many there at a single stage at any given time. Plus there were long gaps between the songs for people to clear water and hail off the stage so that the girls wouldn't get hurt dancing around, so a fair amount of people left cause they didn't like standing in the rain. They only got to play like 6 songs in the end. It was just a bit unfortunate. They came back in 2018 but they were going through that weird period were they weren't sure what to do without Yui so they were using Moa as solo backing vocals and dancing then two other backup dancers who didn't sing, wore different costumes and did more simplified choreography. It was odd. Hopefully this year they'll make it 3rd time lucky.
@@hugoa2637 I'm not saying you weren't there or trying to argue with you, like I said, I was just repeating what team BABYMETAL and the promoter said the attendance was for that performance. And I know people in crowds rarely have a clue how big it is since they are in it and can't see the "big picture". Most people have no idea how big a crowd is even looking at one because they have no experience with big crowds, I do, I worked at the Indy 500 for 12 years and have seen crowds of 400,000, and looking at the footage of that concert, I would be willing to say the crowd estimate was probably pretty close to accurate.
@@indyjohn59 Fair enough, I was just going off feel really. I've seen other acts at download that supposedly had much smaller crowds but definitely felt bigger. Slipknot, Guns N Roses, A7X, those crowds felt that size, but were normally around the 70,000 mark I thought. Plus they were headliners and had good weather. This babymetal crowd didn't feel that big to me and the 2018 crowd definitely didn't, although they were on the 2nd stage that year. Maybe I'm wrong but I've never heard of any single act drawing 90,000+ at download. Especially considering there would be 3 other acts on at the same time at the other stages.

Quite the contrary. We haven't listened to a lot of BabyMetal, but we like what we have heard so far. We were a little bored during one part of the song, but other than that we liked the performance and song very much.
