I was there! What you don't see is the fact that they played at 12:10, and the only band before them were Tesserac, so the crowd had only just arrived and were not even warmed up, and certainly were not drunk. But in the space of just 5 songs and 25 minutes, they were taken to a different universe by the energy of Baby Metal. One of the greatest live performances in the history of heavy metal, so glad I was part of it!
@@RoosterIB If you look at the banner behind the band it clearly says 'Baby Metal' and not Babymetal. If you still do not see it have a look at any of their album covers which all say 'Baby Metal'. I trust this clarifies things for you, but also that you enjoy this wonderful performance at Sonisphere by our beloved Baby Metal.
Su, the lead singer, was 16 and the other two just turned 15 years old. now imagine you are back stage and you really think no one has come to see you from your point of view(they actually said they didnt know how many people were there because when they looked they didnt see anybody). you dont know it is this many until you walk out on stage. Su kills it live. also for the next three days after this their merch outsold everybody else, even big name bands. this song was about bullying.
They were booked to a smaller stage but interest was so high the promoter moved them to the main stage. They were there in the first place because of a fan driven campaign to get them there. He later commented that he had never seen that large a turnout for that early a performance. They went on immediately afterwards to sell out a pair of solo shows in the UK, with one of them being moved from the Electric Ballroom to the Forum because tickets immediately sold out. At the time Su (singer) would have been 16 and the other two girls 14. There is a photo of them back stage about to walk out and the look of tension is obvious. When later asked about walking out onto the stage and seeing that many people, how she felt, Su (singer) basically said it made her want to win them over. They succeeded. They walked onto the stage worried about being booed and having bottles thrown at them, they walked off the stage to chants of "One more song". They've approached every performance in the same way since, always winning over the audience, from Moscow to Poland to Germany to France to the UK to Canada to the USA to Mexico.
I remember seeing this performance, and you guys hit the nail on the head. I was completely blown away and after their show I remember telling my friend, "Oh I gotta hear more of this!" And ALL of their music has that same energy, just good all around! They killed it.
'I imagine that everybody who shows up to see Babymetal must be pedofiles'. -Office Blokes. I think that is a shot at you, personally. That is what they said in the previous reaction, near enough. It's not exactly word for word but something to that same meaning.
@@Jordan-Ramses did not see the Gimme Chocolate reaction but yes just imagine all them Shirley Temple fans being called the same 😱 and it's strange you never hear people say that about The Warning .
For context, this was sort of their first big appearance in the west and they only played a few songs, at the end of this video you can hear the crowd chanting "we want more". Worked out to kick off their western touring in the future
This legendary 30+ minutes set in Babymetal history is called by some the "Miracle at Sonisphere". Imagine being 15-16 years old, touring outside Japan for the first time, originally set for a small performance tent (expecting maybe a couple thousand to show) to being upgraded a couple months before the festival to the main stage in front of 65,000+ people BUT 95% of them never heard of you, some come to hate on you (based on their videos up to this point like "Gimme Chocolate" which had gone viral a few months before and thought they were a joke or gimmick), and these Sonisphere crowds are known to throw bottles at the acts if they don't like them! But by the end of their 30-ish minute set, the crowd is chanting "We want more! We want more!", which you can hear at the end of this video which was the last song of their set. They had the largest pits and wall of deaths, as well as sold the most merch out of all the acts performing at that event (Metallica, Iron Maiden, ect). This show was the start of them really blowing up outside Japan and is considered a major moment in BABYMETAL history. Great video and reaction! 🤘🦊🤘
I see you have copy and pasted my comment that I always post on reactions to IDZ! It's all good...its important to spread the importance of this performance and share with the world how amazing BABYMETAL are.🦊🤘
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🚫 And… that's how you win over metalheads on your first UK appearance. Sonisphere can be a really tough crowd if they don't like you. I can't imagine the strength of nerve it took for a 16 year old Su, and just turned 15 year olds Yui and Moa to take that stage. And to leave the crowd wanting more. They made some new fans that day. They followed this up with a headlining concert at The Forum in London two days later. That was a classic Kami Band line-up with Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Leda Cygnus guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. All of the Kami Band members have been top notch talents.
I'm glad you are still out there promoting BABYMETAL and dispensing accurate information about the band. When watching BABYMETAL reactions I always check to see iff you have left a comment because iff you have there really isn't any reason to read anyone else's.
At the very end, just after where you ended the music video, you can hear the mainly metalhead crowd start yelling "We want more! We want more!" as the girls do their signature goodbye of "See You!" 🦊🤘
Great & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I am pleased to see you like a lot these three brave tiny female soldiers and a powerful supporting squad behind them. The phrase "Dame Zettai (= No absolutely)" is originated from police campaign against illegal drugs which had started in 1960s. So this song implies that "Ijime (= bullying)" is considered as harmful and addictive as illegal drugs. We have to continue our efforts at home and in school (and in any society or organization or group in the world) to eliminate it. In this video, I love to see the excited crowd gradually turn into enthusiastic audience. When three girls started to speak some words in the interlude, loud cheers quickly subsided and the audience even tried to listen to what they were saying although the people could not understand our language. I am emotionally moved whenever I see that scene. People in the crowd became happy, so did Kami band, and I am sure that the three girls fell asleep very happily that night after the biggest event in their life in foreign county. Now in 2021, BABYMETAL performed IDZ in all of 10 BABYMETAL Budokan Concerts either as grand finale or second song after the opening show with Su-Metal's matured voice. It was probably their message to the world.
I saw BABYMETAL twice live at the House of Blues in Chicago. They put on an absolute HELL of a concert...twice lol. The girls, the band, the crowd...Still two of my favorite concerts of the many, many dozens I’ve been lucky enough to see. 🙂
Hi fellas, you're struggling with pronunciation, don't worry, is ok, google translate helps a lot with that ;) Babymetal is a japanese trio group composed of SuMetal (Lead Vocals, born in 1997), YuiMetal and MoaMetal (Scream and Dance, born in 1999), formed in 2010 under the subunit Sakura Gakuin idol group show, they created their own genre called *"kawaii metal"* or cute-metal. _Ijime, Dame, Zettai_ began as a worldwide social reform message to stop bullying into their first power metal song. After massive Gimme Chocolate! YT hit and viral they were invited to major stage at Sonisphere in 2014, they didn't even realized till later that was a huge turning point for them, being in front of 60K metalheads is not something you do often in your life. After that pretty much UK became their 2nd home like the girls said
Basically this was one of their most important venues because it legitimized them to the West and made them a lot more popular rather than being just another Asian act that would get shelved at a certain point. I think right now Metal Hammer has them as the 10th greatest metal band of all time? Su, who is the lead vocalist is in her early 20s now and she's gotten a lot better at performing. Her crowd control abilities are second to none. If she wants a dozen circle pits, they happen with the twirl of her finger.
Thank you for this reaction! This was a special moment for every fan, because it was their first big show in the West and they were afraid to be booed off the stage, but as you correctly noticed, they won a large part of the crowd over. You can see the weight falling off their shoulders at the end, I love that. BABYMETAL is certainly not after everyone‘s taste, but everyone should at least be able to recognize the talent and energy, and you did that, so thumbs up. One thing that sets them apart from many Metal bands (apart from the fusion of genres) is the positivity they ooze. It‘s hard to resist a bunch of cute, smiling girls jumping around like this, you just have to smile along.
They where born Su December 1997 and Moa and Yui June and July 1999 it was there 10th Anniversary last year . That performance was from 2014 the following year 2015 Download Organisers had said BabyMetal would never play there. Dragon Force who are friends with BabyMetal .Herman Lee and Sam Totman wrote the guiter parts for BabyMetals Road of Resistance Invited them to have a look around Download. BabyMetal turned up in full costumes and word got round . Dragon Force brought them on stage to perform with them the Marque got stormed crowd went nuts next year BabyMetal where invited back by Organisers to play main stage and have been popular regulars since . Just another part of BabyMetal lore . 🤘🦊🤘
This song kicks ass with the live performances cause the guitarists and drummer kill it too. I believe Su (lead) was 16 and Yui and Moa 14 at this point but I'm sure someone who knows will come along soon enough if I'm off base
A little correction: Yui and Moa already were 15 at this point, because this took place on the 5th of July. One day after Moa's and two weeks after Yui's Birthday (the 20th of June).
That was a much better reaction than the first time you saw them (that was a particularly bad one - not the song, most of what you said at that time). Live BABYMETAL is always best ... and as has already been said, this was their first time in the UK and their first major event outside of Asia. Probably 98% of the 50-60,000 UK metalheads there had never heard of them, some that had seen half a video were threatening on social media to boo them off and throw bottles of piss as they thought it was a gimmick or joke band. In just 30 minutes, 5 songs (this was the last song of the set) three teenage girls from Japan who spoke virtually no English, backed by a band of session musicians (OK, the best session musicians to be found in Japan) had won over the potentially hostile and, at the start, very confused, crowd. They have gone from strength to strength and just improved year after year ever since and are now the most successful Japanese band internationally (they are big in Japan but far from the biggest) of all time and one of the very best live acts on the planet. They have about 50 songs, every one of them is different - they have songs in virtually every metal genre but will also mix in many other musical styles and genres with the metal.
@@Grington300 I mean, we all say stupid things. I've said plenty of them. I think he was trying to be funny. But we have every right to be angry about it. What would it say about us if we were ok with being called pedophiles? I'm not ok with it. They didn't apologize either. And doing a paid reaction and the first thing in the video is asking for money doesn't exactly fill me with desire to forgive or forget.
@@Jordan-Ramses Absolutely. Like I said, I remembered it being really bad, I'd forgotten the details of how and why it was as bad as it was. And no I'm not OK with being called that either ... but I know it isn't true so my conscience is clear - it just tells me a lot more about the way the mind of the person saying it works.
Good reaction. Now that you had watched their live performances at a Western Festival. Let us all “fast forward” to 2021. Let’s check out what Babymetal has achieved (Won Awards). 1. Babymetal are always best live! In 2014 at Sonisphere, Knebworth Su was 16 and Moa and Yui were 15. Babymetal and the Kami Band were getting good buzz about their performances on their first European tour and so were invited to perform at Sonisphere. They were nervous because the UK crowd was notoriously tough, but by the end of their 30 min set they had won them over completely. It's the moment that international critics and audiences realized that BM were a legitimate headlining band and not just a gimmick. You get a bit of everything in this: Kami Band shredding, Su power vocals, Moa and Yui backing vocals; dancing, and a Yui tutu malfunction. The title takes an iconic Japanese anti-drugs slogan (Mayaku, Dame, Zettai) and uses it against bullying. Next take a look at "Road of Resistance Live in Japan" and "Headbanger Legend 1997". You mentioned Su's voice so maybe react to "Akatsuki at Budokan". If you want your mind blown react to "Tales of the Destinies".
Watershed moment right here... Legendary! Three diminutive Japanese girls winning over a western audience... It's a sight to behold. More BABYMETAL please, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for the reaction. 🦊🤘🔥🖤
I would like to thank you for your reaction to this legendary live video. I know you were worried about the pronunciation of the song titles at the beginning of the video, but it seemed that the girls were also very nervous before they appeared on this main stage against the very demanding British Metalheads. Thank you from Japan.
Guys, the girls had been 14 and 16 as the made this gig. It was there last song at the concert. But they did catch all the Metall heads with there first song. The energy they transported from stage did catch everyone in the crowd.
Babymetal is a experience live. Everything just sounds and feels more energetic, and for those reasons we often do prefer reactions to these live shows. I don't know if I saw your last video, or if YT recommended it, but I'm glad you're at it again. Apparently the rumor about the stage switch is a bitt exaterated as they would have had time to adjust to being moved, but the notoriety of this venue and the bad apples in attendance did make the experience intimidating for the girls. That said, if the future as Amuse is notorious for blocks I'd recommend pauses throughout the videos or a watermark over the picture. There are plenty of genre songs to choose from in their catalogue
It was right after Yui and Moa's 15th birthdays. The performance was July 12 and Moa was born on July 4 and Yui was June 20. Su was born on Dec 20 so they're almost exactly a year and a half apart in age.
The Miracle of Sonisphere is always an epic watch. Yui been going so hard she ripped the tool on her skirt, the Kamis are throwing down hard, Su realized she just conquered the West and Moa is being Moa and making everyone feel like a million bucks. I would love to have been backstage after they saunter off with all that sass and see the all the excitement
Great reaction vid, guys. Babymetal is much, much better live, they're made for live performances. 2014, so they were 16 and 15 then (lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto was born in Dec 1997, Yui and Moa were born in June/July 1999). Their first live concert outside of Asia. Babymetal consists of the 3 girls who are backed by the Kami band for their live performances. Ijime, dame, zettai is a song about anti-bullying. To prevent being blocked by RUclips (their agency, Amuse, is notorious for blocking copyrighted content), I would suggest putting something (ie. watermark) over the video. Hope to see more Babymetal in the future. They can be an acquired taste, need to have an open mind and not put music/heavy metal genre in a box when listening/watching them.
I've seen this performance reacted to many times. And read all the comments and back story. But watching it again just now I picked up on something I'd just totally missed, even though it had been pointed out to me numerous times. Those girls are terrified. They get through it, and make a huge impression. But oh boy.
At one point, Su-metal momentarily breaks character, and displays a quick smirk, because at that point they became a legitimate metal group to the assembled metalheads.
Especially poor Yui with her tutu unraveling. But they had the perfect leader in Su-metal. That girl has no fear for crowds at all, since childhood. Exceptional.
Every time I see this performance it always gets me just how happy they were at the end of that show. Especially Su the lead singer. It's been said that they were very nervous and scared about going on that stage. They won that crowd over and I doubt they were ever as nervous or scared about going on stage again. Su said she was scared no one would be there. Since they went on so early and most folks never heard of them. Whatever they were feeling before they got on stage, went away by the end of the first song. What the fans have come to know about BABYMETAL , is it doesn't matter if it's a small crowd or 50k. They will give the best performance they can. It's one of the reasons folks always say to react to a live performance by them.
BABYMETAL 101 Babymetal is a Japanese group founded in 2010 and produced by Key “Koba” Kobayashi from the Amuse Inc. talent agency. Babymetal name comes from the birth of a new style of metal fusing j-pop with metal creating what they call Kawaii Metal (Cute-Metal). The group currently consists of Suzuka Nakamoto aka “Su-Metal” (23 years old) sometimes referred to as Vocal and Dance, and Moa Kikuchi aka "Moametal", pronounced as Moa-Metal (22 years old) sometimes referred to as Scream and Dance. With a third girl filling the third slot, in a 3-member formation. This girls is known as an Avenger her name is Momoko Okazaki (18 years old). They are supported by a rotating selection of talented male backing musicians known as the Kami Band (Kami is usually poorly translated as gods, but in truth it more closely means awe inspiring spirit, entity, or object) It is why they are dressed in white to look like ghosts or spirits, though Kami being used as God(s) is so common in translation the white outfits get lost. Past Formations. Heavy Music Club Era (2010-2012) From 2010 to 2012 Babymetal consist of a three-member formation, Suzuka Nakamoto (Age 12), Moa Kikuchi (Age 10), and Yui Mizuno aka "Yuimetal" pronounced Yui-Metal. (Age 10). First starting out as the Heavy Music Club as a subunit within the Developmental Idol Group created by Amuse in 2010 known as Sakura Gakuin. Sakura Gakuin is a group that introduces girls between the ages of 10-15 to music, dance, modeling, and acting through Japanese Pop idol music and culture. Given a school theme, all three would be a part of Sakura Gakuin until their graduation from it in the same school year they would graduate from Japanese middle school or 15 years old. Suzuka graduated in March 2013, and Moa and Yui in March of 2015. Sakura Gakuin is a fantastic group with great kawaii jpop songs in their own right. During this time there was no lore, and the girl’s costumes were more punkish in nature which they helped create. They also didn’t perform with live music, using a backing track or the “Skeleton band” people pretending to play music behind them. Music Video of this Era Doki Doki Morning Iine (Pronounced EE-NAH spelled i i n e) Headbangya Babymetal/ Metal Resistance Era (2012-2017) Starting in 2012 with the Legend I concert, Babymetal began its slow divorce from Sakura Gakuin, and was the first introduction of the Kami Band as well as the “Lore” that is still heavily involved in Babymetal but makes far less sense than it did during this time. The Lore is complex and involves a battle against other evil idol corporations, gaining powers, some time travel, running a resistance group, all at the direction of a mythical deity known as the fox god, against an all power enemy known as Akiba. The first Legend show I was the Kami Bands introduction to the end, but it also had the Skeleton Band which is seen in the wildly popular Gimmie Chocolate Music Video. This was followed by Legend D, and then Legend Z, in which it was learned that Babymetal would continue as its own entity after Suzuka’s graduation from Sakura Gakuin in March of 2013. Slowly over 2013 the Skeleton Band would be phased out of all live shows, as Babymetal came into their own. Babymetal as it is most commonly known as with Su-Metal, Moametal, Yuimetal, the Kami Band, and a somewhat understandable lore is what consisted for the majority of it’s existence. Also established beyond the 3 member formation, they had 2 other set ups, one was what fans called Su-Solos, and it would just be Su on stage with the Kami band, performing a solo, and the other is known as Black Babymetal by the band themselves, which consisted of just Moa and Yui. Music Videos of this Era Gimmie Chocolate Megitsune Rondo of Nightmare - With mischief of the Gods Intro (Su Solo and a great expedition of the Kami Band) Road of Resistance Live in Japan (Co-written by Dragonforce) Iijime, Dame, Zettai Live at Sonisphere (Name means No More Bullying Forever) Karate The Dark Times, The Chosen 7 Era (2018) In December 2017, Yui would miss the Legend-S concert for health reasons, these health problems would prosiest into 2018 and greatly affect the 2018 touring season bring the “Chosen 7” formation, consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto, Moa Kikuchi, and 2 backing dancers Minako Maruyama, and Minami Tsukui. Changes they would not tell fans and all throughout 2018 communicate extraordinarily little causing lots of pain for all involved fan and performer. This era is noted by their strange armor like costumes, sometimes referred to as Elf Armor. To make the poor communication, and Yui’s absence wasn’t bad enough, one of the more regular Kami band members, Mikio Fujioka passed away after falling off a balcony in late December 2017 while star gazing. A beloved and incredibly talented musician lost leaving behind his wife and only child. In September 2018 Yui would formally resign from Babymetal, stating her unspecified health and wishing to move on. Babymetal themselves announced that the group will move on focusing on Suzuka and Moa. (Something many idiots within the fandom refuse or are too stupid to understand) In October Babymetal had a concert called Dark Night Carnival which added dancers, Shoko Akiyama, Saya Hirai, and Kotono, placing a total of seven girls on stage. This was also done without warning to fans and was an absolute mess. Babymetal would finish off the 2018 tour season returning to the 3-member formation with just Saya Hirai joining them in southeast Asia and Australia. Ending one of the most troubling times in Babymetal’s history. Music Videos of this Era (These MVs do not feature the members in them at all) Distortion Starlight (Don’t let overzealous fans fool you, this is OFFICIALLY not a tribute to anyone. A lot of fan speculation, end of story) Metal Galaxy Era (2019- Feb 2020) The current set up was first introduced in 2019 during the Babymetal Arises concert in Yokohama, before the start, the “Avenger” support dancer concept was explained in the lore, and the concept thanks to communication and a maintaining of the 3-member formation brought Babymetal out of dark times brought about during 2018. Babymetal seemed to have returned to its roots with the Avengers, as 2 of the three (Kano and Momoko) come from Sakura Gakuin. The third Riho, went to the same performing arts school as Suzuka during the same time, Actors School Hiroshima aka ASH. Music Videos of this Era Pa Pa Ya Elevator Girl Shanti Shanti Da Da Dance (Avenger confusion) Which Avenger one sees can be confusing for those new to Babymetal. For the Music Videos, Pa Pa Ya, Elevator Girl, and Shanti Shanti Shanti, it is Kano Fujihara, who was just 14 years old at the time. Da Da Dance is a compilation of Momoko and Riho and a splicing of 2 different shows. In most fan cam videos of the American and European tour it would be either Riho or Momoko, as they toured with Babymetal in 2019. Kano had responsibilities with Sakura Gakuin as its president, a position Suzuka and Moa both held in Sakura Gakuin, and she’s never flown on a plane before. Some fans for 2019 did throw a stupid temper tantrum over the use of new Kami Band members who are from the west now known as the West Coast Kami Band, but like how the girls won over many, so did they and the payoff with the Legend Metal Galaxy concert in 2020 was well worth it. COVID Era (Mar 2020 to current time) COIVD-19 has messed up a lot of things for everyone, Babymetal had to cancel their Asian tour, as well their big 10th Anniversary on October 10, 2020. Forced to keep it rather tame something very unlike Babymetal as even in their failures like the entire 2018 tour they do it septically. The question for many fans is what of the Avengers, since COVID, Avenger Riho Sayashi has signed with a new agency and has move on to other projects, including starting a fan club, which appears to rule her out of ever being an Avenger again. Kano Fujihara has graduated from Sakura Gakuin on August 30, 2020, a near 4 month delay. However, she and fellow Sakura Gakuin graduates Soyoka Yoshida, Tsugumi Aritomo, and Momoe Mori in the formation of @onefive. Which leaves Momoko Okazaki as last standing Avenger with no new commitments. However, Kano was technically in Sakura Gakuin, @onefive, and Babymetal all at the same time for almost a year so it is possible she will still be an Avenger. All shows since COVID pandemic they have done in 2020 and in 2021 have had Momoko as the Avenger. Music Videos of this Era BxMxC (First music video that isn’t footage from a show and featuring Su and Moa since Karate in 2015)
there were some fans in the crowd but this was the last song of a small set they did on the mainstage and they won over the rest of the crowd that wasn't a fan already. such a great performance that day when they were still fresh and all 3 still together in an english speaking land.
I'm a guy with graying hair, just started liking Babymetal since January 2023. Really too late. Yui has already left the group. Today I just understood the meaning of this beautiful song. the meaning of this song is so deep. I wrote down the meaning of the song below so you guys understand it. Rururu.. Haa! When talking about dreams I don't have that Between light and darkness I am alone Someone who's hurt Not only myself And someone who just saw It's you Be confident (Own it!) I don't have it.(Don't give up!) I keep hiding (I hate to be found!) Until yesterday (Yesterday) I say goodbye to myself (Bye Bye!) Bullying (Don't!) Bullying (Don't!) That is despicable (Don't! Don't! Don't! Don't!) You will be hurt and also hurt We're all gonna get hurt Fox (Fly!) Fox (Fly!) You can definitely fly (Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!) All the aches and pains Let it all go Because I will protect you I show no tears But at night as if crying Deep in the depths of my heart I am alone Someone who hurt me Not just one person And someone who doesn't care That's my friend Nothing (Nothing!) All I can say (Say nothing!?) I feel like giving up (Nothing comes easy!) Until yesterday (Yesterday) I say goodbye to myself (Bye Bye!) Bullying (Don't!) Bullying (Don't!) That is despicable (Don't! Don't! Don't! Don't!) You will be hurt and also hurt We're all gonna get hurt Fox (Fly!) Fox (Fly!) You can definitely fly (Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!) All the aches and pains Let it all go Because I will protect you The pain I feel all the time alone Your heart doesn't seem to notice I will no longer run away Never be bullied again! With love But painful And also gives strength From now on I don't want to see you cry anymore Bullying (Don't!) Bullying (Don't!) That is despicable (Don't! Don't! Don't! Don't!) You will be hurt and also hurt We're all gonna get hurt Fox (Fly!) Fox (Fly!) You can definitely fly All the aches and pains Let it all go Because I will protect you Never be bullied again! (Don't! Don't! Don't! Don't!) No bullying forever Never be bullied again! (Don't! Don't! Don't! Don't!) Never have morning bullying

They had several problems during this performance. Contrary to popular belief, they were not bumped to the main stage at the last second but they were still unprepared for 55,000 people, most of whom had never heard of Babymetal. At the start of this song, Moa's ear monitor malfunctioned, Yui's skirt tore and gave her fits. By the end of this festival, Babymetal sold more merchandise than any other band there. This was definitely their seminal moment.
Babymetal was formed in Oct 2010. The lead singer Su was 12 and Yui/Moa were 11. They were 16 and barely 15 in this performance. Both Yui and Moa had just had their 15th birthdays. Su is almost exactly a year and a half older. Yui and Moa are only 2 weeks apart in age. You deserved to get lit up in the comment section of the previous reaction. You took a very cheap shot at the fans which was totally uncalled for. Not only at the fans but by logical extension at the girls too. No apology? I guess you're pretending like that never happened because someone paid you to react to this.
Wow Yui-chan looked like Umaru in the rest of exit scene so she may have cracked you up but... yeah, you didn't want to blink more than so had to stop watching the video. yes I was laughing while cry. btw I saw the Babymetal image for the first time. thank you! What's next? Bring Me The Horizon - Kingslayer (Lyric Video) ft. BABYMETAL? Babymetal with Dragonforce at Download festival UK on 2015? both bands are friends of Babymetal since around 2016, 2015.
Gotta love the mosh pit face plant fail in the intro. BTW, the girls were terrified, thinking they would not be liked by the hard core metal heads at Sonisphere. Also, Yui's costume is busily self-destructing as they performed. Su was 16 and Yui and Moa were 15. Remember, when Babymetal was formed, Yui and Moa were 10 and Su was 12.
It needs to be stressed because you cut the video off, that as they were walking off the stage the crowd was screaming, "We want more!" Always for the song Road of Resistance members of Dragonforce wrote guitar parts and they have been onstage with BabyMetal performing this song. Needless to say Dragonforce has put their full weight behind BabyMetal. For years so have other major players in the metal world.
Great reaction guys A few points First At this time SU-METAL the vocalist was 16 And YUIMETAL AND MOAMETAL were only 15 SECOND This was the first performance in the west and about 5 % of the CROUD knew whom they were But they generated a buzz and many show up out of curiosity THIRD from this moment on they when to conquer the world and also they became the best live performers in the world And second place is far behind You should react to the live performances as SU is actually better live I recommend MEGITSUNE LIVE This one is just insane live Thanks 🔥🧨🧨🧨🧨🧨🌈🇸🇻🦄🦊🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🦊🇺🇸🇸🇻🇵🇸🇯🇵
You should listen more of their songs as Gimme Chocolate is one of their most basic song they have made and most fans don't really like that song. Also the youtube video has the studio audio that is very bad compared to the live audio.
Hey guys, fair comments. Some like, some don't. It's the beauty of music. However, you have raised a concern for me, I contributed to Grumpy Cat's funeral fund so he could get a good send off. I feel a bit conned because here he is in this video, seemingly born again. Kidding. Great job. Thank you for taking the time to post your reaction.
Babymetal appeared with 12-year-old Su and 10-year-old Yui and Moa in 2010. In 2014, then, were 16-year-old and 14-year-old Su respectively. At those ages, where were we? What were we doing? And what were we thinking? This girls were on this stage in front of this crowd of headbangers! They were unknown. They sang and danced in skirts, boots and handkerchiefs. In different language. In front of these adult males who could loudly boo and curse and throw bottles. But they won applause and shouts of "one more"! Nice lesson. Guitarist Mikio was alive and very happy. Unforgettable.
"We already reacted to a song of theirs so we know what to expect" Oh boy, this is going to be fun! You never know what to expect from a new babymetal song :D And since you fell Dragonforce vibe, you should check out their "Road of Resistance" live in Japan video, with a warning: that video gets blocked a lot, so you need to put a transparent logo on top or need to play with the video transparency or something like that :D
17 14 14. In 2014. Depends on what month. Su born 1997 yui and moa 1999 I remember July 4 one of them I said this off my head not research I think su in January I want to say one in June
Let's remember it takes about 3 songs (especially live performances as you said) to really get Babymetal and really enjoy Babymetal at the fullest. So I suggest to react to one more. :-) Not bad for a first performance in the UK. Without their live band Babymetal would have never been accepted by the crowd, but the girls won them over.
If you are doing metal I would recommend Sabaton ghost division live at woodstock 2012, a Swedish band singing about the German tank division pushing into France to a Polish crowd of over 600,000.
@@MrDraka12 Glorifying the start of a war, an attack instigated by the nazis, the most despicable madmen that walked the earth in the last century. Sure man, rock on.
Hello. I think you should not cut a video because you think it is over, because many times you will miss important things. In this case, in conjunction with your comment that there were 50,000 metalheads who knew nothing about Babymetal, you would have been able to verify that there was 50,000 metalheads who did not know anything about Babymetal by asking for one more song.
@@diggity1039 It doesn't really make me feel better or worse. I just think it is a mistake and that many times you can miss curious things. It's like leaving the theater of any Marvel movie at the start of the credits. You can do it? yes, but you will miss things;)
@@armitage9 Oh I'd never to that for a Marvel film, I know better. They're also not the brightest people. They had trouble watching a video about science.
I don't think they would sadly react to any amazing Baymetal songs since alot of the amazing ones are less than 500k views due to RUclips take downs.and they only react to over 500k view videos. So Rondo Of Nightmare is the off table. I am even surprised they even reacted to request to this one.
This so g translates roughly to “Bullying no more” and you were right, they were originally scheduled to perform on one of the smaller side stages but got bumped to the main stage after there was a lot of chatter going on about them. After their 30 minutes set the crowd chanted “we want more” and “one more” despite never hearing of them before. Babymetal has about 50 songs by now and all of them are different but all carry the same energy. Babymetal is definitely like no other metal band live, so check out more (please!). “Headbanger” from the Legend 1997 show will blow your mind :)
My understanding is this is a protest song against bullying. the girls actually started working together when they were 10 and 11 years old in a group called Sakura Gakuin."A Song for Smiling" was a big hit then.
I remember your last reaction. Completely disrespectful to the girls and the fans. Always a downvote from me whenever i see your videos. You need to start your next bm video with an apology!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need more thumbs ups to give this comment :-)

Su, the lead singer, was 16 and the other two just turned 15 years old. now imagine you are back stage and you really think no one has come to see you from your point of view(they actually said they didnt know how many people were there because when they looked they didnt see anybody). you dont know it is this many until you walk out on stage. Su kills it live. also for the next three days after this their merch outsold everybody else, even big name bands. this song was about bullying.
In fact, this was July 5th, 2014, so it's exactly the day after Moa's 15th birthday. :)
I really hope they will do a movie about them, there are so many legendary moments in BM career so far!
🤘🦊⚡
This performance took place on the day after Moa's 15th birthday, so Yui was also already 15 (as of 15 days earlier). :)
They are just unreal seriously, I need to see them live at least once.
If you finished that video you would literally hear the crowd chanting "We want more!".
With the girls giving a cute "see you" and walking off in a way daring everyone after to try and do better.
@minstrelblood9110 yes I am definitely a pedophile for enjoying music made by people the same age as me. You're a very sane individual.
For context, this was sort of their first big appearance in the west and they only played a few songs, at the end of this video you can hear the crowd chanting "we want more". Worked out to kick off their western touring in the future
And the rest is history...

And… that's how you win over metalheads on your first UK appearance.
We want more!" as the girls do their signature goodbye of "See You!" 🦊🤘
Never, never, cut off a Babymetal performance.
Hi fellas, you're struggling with pronunciation, don't worry, is ok, google translate helps a lot with that ;)
Babymetal is a japanese trio group composed of SuMetal (Lead Vocals, born in 1997), YuiMetal and MoaMetal (Scream and Dance, born in 1999), formed in 2010 under the subunit Sakura Gakuin idol group show, they created their own genre called *"kawaii metal"* or cute-metal.
After that pretty much UK became their 2nd home like the girls said
Su, the lead singer, was 16 and the other two girls just turned 15 years old.
I love BABYMETAL. They're fun. Catchy, heavy, and cute. haha. They are incredible live.

I think Babymetal is the 10th most influential metal band in history, it shows two things: how immense "the One" is and how pranksters we are ...
@@armitage9 think they stop putting them on some short lists because of the power of the One 🤘😁🤘🦊
Even as someone who's not a fan...the musicianship is crazy good, hats off. Very talented.

Better than saying that Babymetal fans are pedofiles? That is an amazingly low bar.

One is 16 and two of them 15 here, depending on the month/their birthday.
It was right after Yui and Moa's 15th birthdays. The performance was July 12 and Moa was born on July 4 and Yui was June 20. Su was born on Dec 20 so they're almost exactly a year and a half apart in age.

Brilliant song, brilliant performance!
They're brave af!
It's one of the reasons folks always say to react to a live performance by them.
i was in this crowd!!! it was the best live show in my life. babymetal is coming to an end on oct 10th this year but i will never forget this live!!!!
BABYMETAL 101
Babymetal is a Japanese group founded in 2010 and produced by Key “Koba” Kobayashi from the Amuse Inc. talent agency.
Heavy Music Club Era (2010-2012)
From 2010 to 2012 Babymetal consist of a three-member formation, Suzuka Nakamoto (Age 12), Moa Kikuchi (Age 10), and Yui Mizuno aka "Yuimetal" pronounced Yui-Metal.

Babymetal/ Metal Resistance Era (2012-2017)
Starting in 2012 with the Legend I concert, Babymetal began its slow divorce from Sakura Gakuin, and was the first introduction of the Kami Band as well as the “Lore” that is still heavily involved in Babymetal but makes far less sense than it did during this time.

The Dark Times, The Chosen 7 Era
(2018)
In December 2017, Yui would miss the Legend-S concert for health reasons, these health problems would prosiest into 2018 and greatly affect the 2018 touring season bring the “Chosen 7” formation, consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto, Moa Kikuchi, and 2 backing dancers Minako Maruyama, and Minami Tsukui.
(Something many idiots within the fandom refuse or are too stupid to understand)
In October Babymetal had a concert called Dark Night Carnival which added dancers, Shoko Akiyama, Saya Hirai, and Kotono, placing a total of seven girls on stage. This was also done without warning to fans and was an absolute mess. Babymetal would finish off the 2018 tour season returning to the 3-member formation with just Saya Hirai joining them in southeast Asia and Australia. Ending one of the most troubling times in Babymetal’s history.

Metal Galaxy Era
(2019- Feb 2020)
The current set up was first introduced in 2019 during the Babymetal Arises concert in Yokohama, before the start, the “Avenger” support dancer concept was explained in the lore, and the concept thanks to communication and a maintaining of the 3-member formation brought Babymetal out of dark times brought about during 2018. Babymetal seemed to have returned to its roots with the Avengers, as 2 of the three (Kano and Momoko) come from Sakura Gakuin. The third Riho, went to the same performing arts school as Suzuka during the same time, Actors School Hiroshima aka ASH.

(Avenger confusion)
Which Avenger one sees can be confusing for those new to Babymetal.
COVID Era
(Mar 2020 to current time)
COIVD-19 has messed up a lot of things for everyone, Babymetal had to cancel their Asian tour, as well their big 10th Anniversary on October 10, 2020. All shows since COVID pandemic they have done in 2020 and in 2021 have had Momoko as the Avenger.

there were some fans in the crowd but this was the last song of a small set they did on the mainstage and they won over the rest of the crowd that wasn't a fan already. such a great performance that day when they were still fresh and all 3 still together in an english speaking land.
hey fellas...all this time later and I still enjoy your reaction to my request. thanks again. :-)
They sold more merchandise than all the bands together. Love the chant. We want more, we want more . Epic performance ❤❤❤
It's an anti bullying song
I'm a guy with graying hair, just started liking Babymetal since January 2023. Really too late. Yui has already left the group. Today I just understood the meaning of this beautiful song. the meaning of this song is so deep. I wrote down the meaning of the song below so you guys understand it.
Rururu..
Haa!
When talking about dreams
I don't have that
Between light and darkness
I am alone
Someone who's hurt
Not only myself
And someone who just saw
It's you
Be confident (Own it!)
I don't have it.(Don't give up!)
I keep hiding (I hate to be found!)
Until yesterday (Yesterday)
I say goodbye to myself (Bye Bye!)
Bullying (Don't!)
Bullying (Don't!)
That is despicable
(Don't! Don't! Don't! Don't!)
You will be hurt and also hurt
We're all gonna get hurt
Fox (Fly!)
Fox (Fly!)
You can definitely fly
(Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!)
All the aches and pains
Let it all go
Because I will protect you
I show no tears
But at night as if crying
Deep in the depths of my heart
I am alone
Someone who hurt me
Not just one person
And someone who doesn't care
That's my friend
Nothing (Nothing!)
All I can say (Say nothing!?)
I feel like giving up (Nothing comes easy!)
Until yesterday (Yesterday)
I say goodbye to myself (Bye Bye!)
Bullying (Don't!)
Bullying (Don't!)
That is despicable
(Don't! Don't! Don't! Don't!)
You will be hurt and also hurt
We're all gonna get hurt
Fox (Fly!)
Fox (Fly!)
You can definitely fly
(Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!)
All the aches and pains
Let it all go
Because I will protect you
The pain I feel all the time alone
Your heart doesn't seem to notice
I will no longer run away
Never be bullied again!
With love
But painful
And also gives strength
From now on
I don't want to see you cry anymore
Bullying (Don't!)
Bullying (Don't!)
That is despicable
(Don't! Don't! Don't! Don't!)
You will be hurt and also hurt
We're all gonna get hurt
Fox (Fly!)
Fox (Fly!)
You can definitely fly
All the aches and pains
Let it all go
Because I will protect you
Never be bullied again!
(Don't! Don't! Don't! Don't!)
No bullying forever
Never be bullied again!
(Don't! Don't! Don't! Don't!)
Never have morning bullying

Can't believe you reacted to Babymetal.
Awesome!!!
ソニスフィアの奇跡~♪真ん中の方は特攻野郎Aチームに出てきそうな雰囲気😮ランボーの大佐?にも似てる。
It needs to be stressed because you cut the video off, that as they were walking off the stage the crowd was screaming, "We want more!" Always for the song Road of Resistance members of Dragonforce wrote guitar parts and they have been onstage with BabyMetal performing this song. Needless to say Dragonforce has put their full weight behind BabyMetal. For years so have other major players in the metal world.
You should listen to road of resistance live at legend of 1997.
That "kimi wo mamoru KARA" always gives me goosebumps! 🤘🦊⚡
Great reaction guys
A few points
First
At this time
SU-METAL the vocalist was 16
And YUIMETAL AND MOAMETAL
were only 15
SECOND
This was the first performance in the west and about 5 % of the CROUD knew whom they were
But they generated a buzz and many show up out of curiosity
THIRD
from this moment on they when to conquer the world and also they became the best live performers in the world
And second place is far behind
You should react to the live performances as SU is actually better live
I recommend
MEGITSUNE LIVE
This one is just insane live
Thanks

BABYMETAL - ギミチョコ!!- Gimme chocolate!! (OFFICIAL)

You should listen more of their songs as Gimme Chocolate is one of their most basic song they have made and most fans don't really like that song. Also the youtube video has the studio audio that is very bad compared to the live audio.

they were ages 16 and 14 for this show
Hey guys, fair comments.
"We already reacted to a song of theirs so we know what to expect"
Oh boy, this is going to be fun!
You never know what to expect from a new babymetal song :D
And since you fell Dragonforce vibe, you should check out their "Road of Resistance" live in Japan video, with a warning: that video gets blocked a lot, so you need to put a transparent logo on top or need to play with the video transparency or something like that :D
Not bad for a first performance in the UK. Without their live band Babymetal would have never been accepted by the crowd, but the girls won them over.
NEVER...EVER cut off before the "See You" (See You) shout! NEVER!
If you are doing metal I would recommend Sabaton ghost division live at woodstock 2012, a Swedish band singing about the German tank division pushing into France to a Polish crowd of over 600,000.
Don't you just love the stupidity of some songwriters?
@@laughingbuddha2948 what? Sabaton make songs about history, and the Polish crowd loved it.

BabyMetal is always better live, especially in the massive shows in Japan..
If it makes you feel better, I do that same thing to their videos. Exit the video as soon as they're done watching. :)
Have to do headbanger live !!!!
You were right there. It translates to "Bullying, no more, forever". It's just one of their awesome songs that has a great message behind it.
You forget about linkin park, they make music diffrent than others band and they really great in live

no bullying absolutely - what a performance , even old dawg mike is digging it
The lead guitars passed away and the girl on the right quit it band for health reasons 😢 they never said what she had
It was most likely a back injury, as Yui was seen wearing a back brace in several of her final performances.
do more babymetal!!!
My understanding is this is a protest song against bullying. the girls actually started working together when they were 10 and 11 years old in a group called Sakura Gakuin."A Song for Smiling" was a big hit then.
