Another midwestern favorite of mine is the "country fried steak skillet" topped with gravy over hash browns, grilled onions, peppers, some mushrooms, and layered with cheese. It's my go to anytime I go out to breakfast!
All ground beef is pumped with water. Water is a lot cheaper than anything else that's in a blend. The added water weight is where a volume producer of ground beef makes a little extra $$.
Sam, great video. Growing up and living in the midwest, Casey's was everywhere. And the Taco Pizza is crust, refried beans, salsa/picante, plain beef (not seasoned), cheese, bake, lettuce, tomato and nacho cheese doritoes. As others said, breakfast pizza. I've made it several times in another mid west store and it is the BOMB. Since then, I pretty much nail the Casey's Breakfast pizza except the crust. It goes, crust, cheddar cheese sauce, layer of cheddar shred, crumbled cooked scrambled egg, crumbled cooked sausage or/and bacon, mozzarella and a touch of cheddar, and bake. Some variations included chopped peppers and onions. I know these recipes from my Mother in Law that was a regional manager for Caseys' plus I have a pizza addiction. Keep on cooking great!
The way you're cooking the ground beef, you can improve the penetration of the taco seasoning right after you're done cooking it. I was born and raised in Iowa and Casey’s Taco Pizza, a Pork Tenderloin and a Maid Rite from the Canteen are always on the list of must haves when I’m back. When I was a teenager, Marge was the pizza chef at Casey’s. There was absolutely no Taco Pizza like Marge’s. It had to weigh in at 8lbs, more if you ordered extra cheese. The key is to order it with the lettuce and chips on the side. That way, if you have leftovers, the lettuce doesn’t wilt and the chips don’t get soggy. And you’ve got to use Doritos. Sour cream was an extra, always on the side. If you’re a true Iowan, ranch dressing on the side is a must as well!! 🥰
Have you done a video on liver and onions? My husband will choke me for even suggesting it, but oh my goodness... Yum!!! My grandma used to make it with a brown gravy and it was so tender and amazing! I've never been able to replicate it... Thanks for all the inspiring videos. Love watching you and your "boys" ❤️

As someone who grew up on the East Coast and now lives in Kansas City Casey's pizza is the best gas station pizza ever and their subs are pretty damn good too
It’s annatto added to cheddar cheese to give it the color. Way back in the day when people used candles as lights it used to note quality cheese from the diet the cows ate but now just to keep it consistent the annatto seeds are added
So I grew up eating Casey's pizza and their taco pizza was one of my favorites. I've since been living in Texas for over a decade and we have to travel pretty far to get any. This recipe is extremely close to the real thing. We didn't put sour cream on it, but it doesn't sound bad. One thing you must do though is mix Pace picante sauce in the refried beans. Just the beans and the sauce alone is good enough to eat on its own. Absolutely loved this recipe thank you so much Sam for doing this. Keep up the good work
That looks good Sam, Just seen the other day on Tik Toc, someone made a Taco pie, Pie shell, layer of crushed Dorito's, Taco flavor, layer of cooked ground beef with Taco seasoning mixed in, layer of sour cream mixed with salsa, layer of cheddar cheese and then another layer of crushed Doritos Taco flavor, put in oven at 400 for 20 mins I think. I would imagine it would be yummy.😋
So how about a fried Monte crisco egg roll with a pepper jelly dip? I typically use a smoked Cajun turkey slices and ham from the deli with some chopped bacon. And for the cheese I like a creamy sharp cheddar and pepper jack cheese. Use some egg roll paper, wrap it and fry it and finish with powder sugar and bam. A great snack for the Super Bowl 😉
Been making this for years. One suggestion that I do... To keep all your chips from falling off put a little more cheese over the top and then torch to melt
This looks awesome. In the detroit suburbs there used to be a place called Marineli’s that had detroit style taco pizza. It is the only place I have ever seen with Taco pizza and it was great.

OMG SAM PLEASE, you need to make Casey's breakfast pizza it is AWESOME.
YESSSSSSSSS !!! I’ve worked for Casey’s off and on back in the day and seriously it’s amazing lol.
Keep up the good work
Looks amazing. Will have to try to make this.
Casey`s taco pizza uses nacho cheese doritos & the sour cream is on the side. The meat is like pellets (formed somehow). It`s soooo good!!
The meat pellets contain many fillers and non meat product.
After you combined 2 of my favorite food classes - Finally subscribed!

What's the difference between a good pizza joke and a bad one?
The delivery.
Username checks out xD
That looks good Sam, Just seen the other day on Tik Toc, someone made a Taco pie, Pie shell, layer of crushed Dorito's, Taco flavor, layer of cooked ground beef with Taco seasoning mixed in, layer of sour cream mixed with salsa, layer of cheddar cheese and then another layer of crushed Doritos Taco flavor, put in oven at 400 for 20 mins I think. I would imagine it would be yummy.😋
Love all the pizza @ Casey's the breakfast pizza is a must on a damn cold SD morning.
Casey's pizza is the best!!!
Love the bonus footage!
This looks awesome. In the detroit suburbs there used to be a place called Marineli’s that had detroit style taco pizza. It is the only place I have ever seen with Taco pizza and it was great.
White cheeder/provolone
crazy cheese pull
Sam’s follow up video... the Casey’s breakfast pizza! Let’s go!
I can listen to any rant you go on. Let’s go boys love ya
Casey's Taco is my go to! Leave off the chips tho LOL like shards of glass when fresh and wet cardboard the next day. They have an amazing brisket pizza as well and as everyone has mentioned, breakfast pizza which is damn good. Something about the pizza crust that is so different from everyone else.
Looks great. Would add a few things, but great idea. Keep on "enjoying" yourself. Nothing wrong with it.
Love taco pizza. Crushed doritoes on top with dollops of sourcream, and chicken fajita pizza or chicken bacon ranch pizza are also legit goodness.
Looks delicious! I would also add a fire taco sauce to the top!
😂 awesome…thank you so much for not only the recipe but the laughs!
I make a variety of types. You xan use sour cream for the sauce. Cream cheese also works as the sauce. Chorizo works great too.
A series of the best foods from each convenience store chain would be interesting. Especially as driving cross country season is coming up. I know Bucees is supposed to have lots of great stuff. Fat Dogs is also a great chain.
