I see they went the route of the Iowa Interstate and removed virtually all Chinese markings from the engine. I think I can understand why.

Is this locomotive still in operation? I am a railway fan from China, and these locomotives have all been retired in China.
yes, iowa used to at one time have 3 operational chinese steam locomotives, 2 QJ's owned by the IAIS, and 1 JS bought by the boone and scenic. 8419 is still operating as of now but the QJ's are both down for boiler inspection and 1472
we value history a bit more than the CCCP
