Thank you! :)
Thank you.
Huh, only #15 and #16 are specific to Starcraft 2, the rest are RTS' basics.
I mean thanks but this is really just basic and common knowledge.. didn't learn anything from this video, In fact I knew about all of this for about since 2015, so this video was basically useless, sorry man
7 years of playing and I learnt some things today. Thanks!
Fake and gay, none playing a game 7 years would not know its basics.
stfu bitch, you are stupid as hell
it happens, even after reading guilds and testing things etc.
How did you guys who are bitching about him not knowing anything not learn something, like the difference between roaches with upgrades.
@@The-wo2lq STFU BIIITCH!!!!
Played since the launch, currently Diamond 2, went master in 2v2 and I am just learning how to drop move now LOL
played 1 time when I was probably about 7....just got the game for free only just remembering it was a part of my childhood even tho I know just as much if not less about the game then I did when i was 7 😕
Actually on the mineral patching, never put mule on the closest one. On the last run of the mule before the time runs out for it, it will mine a mineral but will expire while bringing it back to the base and you will lose that mineral forever. It maybe small but it could change the outcome of the game if it's repeated.
This video reminds me of how much of a noob i am at Starcraft
Same😢
Yup. I suck, my left hand is useless.
Morgue Original Music Your left hand is useless??? How ?? Use the keyboard ! It’s capital u have some training rooms u can do in sc 2
A good training for the left hand is FPS games. (or guitar/piano)
@@MorgueOfficialMusic How's your right hand? If you got good fps mouse twitch skills, that could translate to getting a lot of value out of certain units.
big one i learnt recently. going alt and a number will take the selected unit out of every other control group and add it to the control group of your choosing. eg. removing a full drop ship from your army to go for a drop.
#2: That "random weird spot" the scouting unit always goes to is the A* solution point to the destination you chose. The A* algorithm works by generating tiny branch paths and then expanding the branch closest to the target position, which in the case where the destination cannot be reached resolves to a path that ends at the nearest reachable point.
10# is huge for me. I often lose medivacs because they reach the enemy before my army.
Venser same lol
Same here.
Move command is also an option but a click seems easier to do.
On the other hand, if the lone marine your medivacs are following happens to die, now your medivacs are sitting still somewhere in the middle of the map.
Ideally the medivacs would be on a different hotkey, so they'd always be healing (instead of sometimes only moving when kept in the same group as marines that are kiting) and never in trouble. But at the moment keeping them in the same group as the marines seems like the best value given what you can do with your other control groups instead (widow mine, tank, drop management).
you could queue the attack to other units though
big ups 3 years later to my favorite SC2 content creator.
Never knew that about hallucinations. Learn something new every day!
Great video as always, i just want to add a little detail:
You can actually see if hellion has blueflame or not, without an attack. The flamethrower has either a little red or blue flame depending on the upgrade, but this effect is only visible in medium graphic settings or higher ;)
**Edit:
Wow, i just checked it and you can't actually tell the difference anymore, it's always blue. I'm not sure if they changed it or if i got misinformed ;_;
Thanks :)
I actually thought of it while I was making the video and set the graphics higher and wasn't able to see it for some reason. Figured since I couldn't show it I might as well not mention it since I wasn't 100% sure :P
I had no idea that I could hover the supply count to see how many SCVs I had. I've been going up to 120 workers in some games as Protoss. When WinterStarcraft would give an SCV count, I thought he was just the Rain Man of worker counting.
Thanks for Video! For 10 years I had played SC 1 and Brood War and then many other Games. Well, March 2020 after just 6 months of SC 2, I like it as much as SC 1. Wow, there's so much here to learn. Your Video reminds me to look up more Pc Controls, very useful!
number 10 is kinda need correction, you can disable the simple command menu in options, wich give buttons to move, stop, hold position, patrol, its a suprise some people dont use this.
alot of things can be easier with the extra command buttons, take some marines and setup a patrol, or use hold position to guard tanks.
Correction to the "c" button advice. Any worker with a resource in hand will, after pressing "c", return to the nearest base to deposit the resource --and then go back to the exact patch it got it from-. It is wrong to say that it will drop off the resource and then start gathering again at the nearest patch.
you can just do the shift click to make the building then to go back to mining
What about for the grid hotkeys, what do you press
Oh nvm I got it, just have to enable command card
This is actually really helpful, some of this stuff I did know but there's a good amount I didn't. Thanks!
Love this video, actually super helpful because it's not too technical like so many other starcraft II videos!
12:57 im playing on super laggy laptop on 20-30 fps every thing shimers while zooming XD
one of the best videos i have seen about skill player.. thanks a lot man i hope ur channel boost into the universe
God I’ve been shift clicking my workers back to minerals this whole time
SquirrilahFish that works better sometimes tho if u already know u wanna send it back bc if u wanna click the C thing then it has to be holding a mineral
can be used the same way as to add units to control groups. It's very convenient for freshly built units and for things you can click on while under construction: buildings and zerg units. If your main army is already assigned to control group 1, you can select your newly built marines, press + and those new marines will be added to control group 1. This is especially convenient for adding mutalisks to your muta ball.
its 2019... is it still like that?
Nice vid, i love it, and i thank u for it :)
the ctrl shift click thing was very very helpful to me! thank you very much, sir!
FYI, this might be an old video, but still valuable info - thanks for making it.
loved the tips thanks. i didn't knew a few. learning just one knew thing would have been great but finding a few things was awesome.
even after playing for years i learned something, thank you!
You just earned a sub!
just started the game and off to a good start
Thanks.. I have been wondering for years how I deselect production building from my hot keys!. Now I will have to pay more attention to what I'm doing when hitting contrl/shift.
really nice! thanks! its was good for me.. i played alot sc1 and with this i can be up to date quicker
thank you so much for the selecting help.... i just got back into this great campaign
Good job!
Didnt know about many of these tricks / tipps
Awesome Guide, simple and efficient, thanks mate ---
this is such a great video! i play starcraft few years and i knew only like 5 of those tips!
Incredible work Alexander
Ctrl+Shift to remove units is new to me. I was kinda missing the ability to TAB and cycle through casters, because I always have trouble knowing what's going to be selected next.
Your video guides are really good. Thank you.
Im no pro but ive been playing and watching SC for many years and never knew about the Yamato cannons! Always something new to be discovered it seems.
C omfg ... well I learned a lot :D thanks beasty
OMFG... I never knew about tip 2, showing how many workers vs army units you have!!!!
Thank you for making this, it really is usefull!
This video helped me improve my gameplay so much. and I stumble accross this game again 1 year later xD
Useful video, even tho I knew most of these that Mineral Patch was really useful!
Perfect , this is what i was looking for .
thanks !
The stargate units one blew my mind, can't believe I've never noticed that
the battlecruiser visual changes are really nice
i didnt noticed it
Note on #1, just for those that didn't notice, it only works when scv has mineral/gas otherwise you'll have to queue the command back. shortcut key 'c' is for 'return cargo'
Note on #3, its not a bug, its a result of how the path-finding algorithm works. The algorithm has access of ("see") what is blocking and what is not blocking the path. In the example, since the path was blocked, it goes to the spot where it's closest to the original destination.
While it may not be a bug it will confuse a lot of people since that not the way it used to be in the Original Starcraft and Broodwar
Great video, thanks for the tricks!
wow I learned quite a few things! that's amazing! Thank you
Nice, the Medevac and pressing C on workers is especially helpful.
What is the "c" hotkey on grid setup, where the "c" key is occupied by standard commands for the unit?
Very useful, thanks! :D
very useful, nice job !
This is really helpful!
Had no idea about the Yamato cannon
great vid man, thank you so much!
detection can spot hallucinations - brilliant hint! I wish I knew that, rofl
-There is hotkey which will add to, or create unit group and take away units from existing one, this means no ctrl+shift unclicking units and pressing 1,2,3 to cycle through tabs, or using cycle unit group hotkey
-There is RAPID FIRE hotkey: this means you can hold for example snipe button and hover mouse over targets and it will automatically target and snipe all these units, go to unit management and add alternative hotkey for choose ability or target unit, you can even hold shift press any ability and than hold rapid fire button and that ability will be spammed instantly, it is good for spreading creep e.g. Also you can go to your documents account, account number, open your hotkey profile and than you can add multiple hotkeys for rapid fire than 2 only
-To split workers effectively: select all your workers and press s and than spam idle worker hotkey and start right clicking workers away at the same time, you could do this by holding 2 buttons by blizzard changed it, maybe because it was to easy to split.
-If scv gets stuck: you can press hold, or make it patrol so it doesn't show idle, if you dont have time to save it or kill it
-You can shift click medivac next to opponent's base and than click on minimap, shift click to start of the mineral line, than click ctrl+f to center back on medivac, or click on medivac icon - this actually center on your units. Click d on medivac to drop (again holding shift) and than click back on minimap to opponents base, shift click it to end of mineral line and it will drop exactly behind mineral line for you, but, it is hard to execute so you don't do it much often
very nice video! ty so much!
This is useful, man. Thank you
iv played over 10k games and i actually learned a few things today, thanks!
Thanks, that was really useful!
I wasn't entirely sure about #16, very good to know the hallucinations get ignored with detection. Also largely forgot burrowed move could technically be seen, that explains times where Terrans have blind scanned my roaches/festor
great video for beginners! keep up the good work!
Very nice video! Thanks :)
THANK YOU! Most of this was helpful
Wow, it help a lot Man. Thanks❤️
Liked and subscribed
This was very well done
What!? I've played this game forever, but never knew the supply details. It's the little things I'm still learning.
About the mules the bad thing is that if you place them on closer patches they will farm one course and die before delivering, so 25 lost minerals, but when on further patches they will mine one less time, but will deliver the same number of times, so that you don`t lose 25 minerals
This was great!! THX!!
I noticed how mineral patches have different amounts, but I didnt grasp the importance of it until now. Also the transport unit dropping while moving was a big one too
Why am I learning this now. Played sc2, since beta and didn't know most of these. Thanks Beasty, maybe it is time to finally make that push from d2 -> m3
Gray vid, hope u get better at RUclips and be bigger :) I’ll keep supporting
Thank you so much!! You just got a sub.
I knew I was missing something. Thanks!
nice video. i know of the stuffs but the others wow. now its about time go back to the diamond leauge hehe
Shifting commands is super usefull while blinking stalkers. While shiftclicked they can all blink to cliff, an non is getting stuck
Mirosław Orłowski and making supply depots
wow thank you! Help me very much.
Holy shit! Thank you so much!
this is the most useful sc2 video ever
I'm diamond, been playing sc since broodwar - never finished learning the game x.x
I found out something interesting about hallucinations. Did you know that, if you hit something with the raven's armor-reducing bomb... and then you have hallucinated units attack the affected enemy units... every shot that the hallucinations make will do 1 dmg? There's some sort of glitch which makes them actually deal damage while attacking enemy units under the bomb's effect.
14.
The Hydralisks too change their look if you research the range-thing
im protoss main and wish zealots would have a cool change once they got charge, even though its a tell getting the zergling wings is awesome
Phoenixes actually change attack coulour if theyre upgraded
the change is recent, wasn't in the game when he made the video
Zealots also have a special animation when they move with charge.
I knew some of these things but most of them no. Thanks, these are some useful tips
Fantastic video, :)
10:02 I always used the M + left click instead of A click on the marines which is the same.
Attack moving medivacs heal, moving medivacs don't.
I would really like if you made a video on how pro players pick up their marines into medivacs so quick. I've literally seen them, somehow, pick up marines as their medivacs are boosting away and the marines are literally behind the medivacs.
Grab a replay and watch from the player's perspective. Slow motion might help.
wait, all you have to do is click d on the medivacs! MAN I'm glad I found this video. I have been trying to figure out how to do that for a year now.
Is there a way to do the medivac thing but with units that attack? Like if I want my Vikings to follow marines or something
adepts and phoenix upgrades both have visual on the weapon itself
is this Badger from Breaking Bad?
H00ps I was thinking the same
"I want to be a knight" - Badger
@Дони Цончев This isn't ylyl.
+
lol "If they have a blue flame, then they have a blue flame upgrade" Noooooo wayyyyyy!!!!!!
5.1k people liked it though so thankyou for helping the community! well done.
There are also a lot of tips and tricks like these in the old arcade game Starcraft Master.
When those banelings did battle, what was up with the red ones spawning tiny banelings when they died?
It's a mutation for them. The choices being spawning tiny banelings upon death, and banelings bouncing like balls they are which allows them to jump up cliffs and over units.
Nowadays dropalords also have a visual queue. Tunneling claws roaches are more obvious, too.
that medivac follow is very usefull thank you
More of this videos please.
