This channel is like a goldmine for beginners. It has all things necessary: traditional and simplified character writings, clear pronounciation, examples and everything spoken in Mandarin with subtitles. I am a big fan!
I started to learn mandarin about two months ago. I've been working on the PinYin to nail down my pronounciation. I'm slowly going through and writing all the characters and the example you are giving. Just wanted to thank you for the video. It's been very helpful. 谢谢
I've been learning seriously for about 6 years. My husband is Chinese, I'm American. My very best advice to you in regards to pronunciation is to make sure to mimic your native speaking teachers as much as possible. It is so important to recognize how our voices change when speaking a different language. This is even more true when speaking Chinese, a tonal language. When you realize how you are supposed to sound as opposed to how you normally sound, the tones will come naturally. I have found learning Chinese to be easier than say German, and my Grandparents are Austrian.
@@Jilli8310me gustaría tener un marido chino 😊. Cómo hiciste ? Estoy aprendiendo el idioma, aprobé el primer nivel de principiante. Since I have fallen in love with China, the Chinese, their culture and their language, I've been through thousands of videos trying to make my way through the fascinating sea of Mandarin and I got to say this channel has the greatest videos of all, pure gold for the self-taught! Xie xie!!! ♥♥♥♥
This was my very first introduction to Chinese writing - SO interesting! I enjoyed hearing the terminology for all the different squiggles, and found myself wanting to learn more. ☺️
im studying chinese for university and this video by itself has been SO much more helpful than my classes. the teachers all assume we can understand them and so they speak as fast as they want without asking if we need any help. thanks a lot!
I'm working on learning Chinese, and your teaching style is very helpful. The pace of the video and speaking, the characters and examples on the left side of the screen while also writing it by hand and saying the names of the strokes provide multiple ways to take in the information. This is one of the best videos I've seen. Thank you so much! 😀
Literally one of the best videos! The historical context of the characters is important and makes it easier to remember. Thank you lao shi! Namaste from India.
My mom told me how she has to use a pointed brush, black scrub with water ink and write from right to down, and then proceed toward left. The brush and hand are on upward stance. Her calligraphy is outstanding. If you look at Eastern books, it's reverse.
Thank you, your video is very helpful and well-made. I have seen some earlier, probably yours as well, with English explanations, but I prefer this one because one can learn so much more. You keep repeating some phrases and they so naturally stick to you.I also like your pronunciation, it is so clear. I have been learning on my own for a few months now and would probably be able to make some sentences, but unfortunately, I do not know how to use the Chinese clipboard. I found some HSK 2 sample tests online and was able to pass the reading and listening parts with pretty high scores. However, I am pretty stuck now. I feel like I need some speaking practice, but in Bosnia although we have a center where they offer free Chinese classes I am not able to attend because they clash with my work hours.
Thank you for liking my video. Learning to speak and communicate in Chinese and learning Chinese characters and words should start together. Many Chinese people want English language partners in Facebook Chinese learning groups. You may check there.
Cette vidéo, tout comme la précédente ( 150 radicaux chinois) est de très haute qualité, je suis assidue, merci pour ce gros travail, je vous encourage 谢谢您 😃
Hello, I am a Turk. Since I learned that there are Chinese words preserved for thousands of years in Turkish, I have been interested in Chinese characters and language, for example, Water in Turkish is "Su" and in Chinese is "shuǐ". Our ancestors, the Hun Turks, lived in the Siberian and Central Asian Steppes before coming to Anatolia, and they had diplomacy and social life with the Chinese. This lifestyle was also reflected in their language.
That's such a helpful video, the way chinese characters are written is so fascinating and beautiful to me :p, I'm a 15 year old from poland and I've decided to learn chinese because of journey to the west, this book is very dear to me and I really wish to read it in chinese one day :DD 这个非常好!谢谢🫶
Indeed this video is magic, thank you for this! It really helps to get plunged into the atmosphere of characters. And the overall effect is helpful and great!
i remember how i learn Chinese in my Hong Kong grade school , i can only recall through my 2nd grade , my everyday home work were included write 10 different Chinese words 10X , it was about the same in 3rd grade , and of course we practice reading Chinese story books so on. by the time my Chinese level near 4th grade i already can read new paper , story books . . etc. yes , there are more than 50,000 Chinese words , but for daily and normal needs that knowing one to two thousands common words already very well set.
It would certainly take a very good amount of time to even adapt to the very particular and defined pronunciation apart from the Writing and the idioms in Exact Phonetics!!
@@ChineseCharacters3000 Yes please. I'm happy to have them with you speaking Chinese (but with English subtitles). I think hearing more Chinese helps with listening to the tones. Many thanks!.
Hesitate to suggest adding more to an already busy screen, but identifying the radical and phonetic in a sub- window would be a great reference for learners using that kind of dictionary
@@ChineseCharacters3000 Immediately picking out the radical (even with characters where the radical is the whole character) is a quick key to basic meaning eg. "Ah...grass radical! so this is likely to be something botanical" plus you get nowhere with dictionaries which are sorted by radical until you figure out the radical to start with unless you like counting strokes and beginning there- and stroke counting is often less than reliable.
@@ChineseCharacters3000 When I am decoding a more complicated text like a book or newspaper I have the book open and a dictionary available. When I encounter a character that I cannot recall I turn to the dictionary. A pin yin dictionary is of no use because I cannot be sure what the pronunciation might be. With the radical and an approximate stroke count I can use a traditional dictionary to narrow the search to a few columns in an index. Without the radical I can only highlight the missing word and hope that the fullness of time or context alone will illuminate its meaning. Imagine using an English dictionary where the word order was based on the birthday of the first person in history who used the word to see how hard it is to get traction when a single clue like immediately glomming "that's a fire radical!" or "leather radical!" not only hints meaning but illuminates the phonetic and opens the dictionary to the right page +/- 25 pages

欢迎你,来自远方的朋友!语言的联系真是太奇妙了。
한국인에게는 쉬운 한자들이지만, 영상의 분위기가 좋아서 계속 보고있었네. 한자는 서구인들이 갖고있지못하는 한자문화권의 일종의 정신, 한자앞에서 한자문화권 국가들은 동질감을 가질수있다는게 가끔은 대단하게느껴지고.
原来韩国人是觉得汉字比较简单。我还纳闷为什么没有韩国人来看。
