Got this trailcam last spring, used it at bear hunting for 3 weeks, caught all the action very clear, then used it from august till the last weekend of deer season in november. Caught all the action both pic and video 15 sec. Changed the card once a week. Belive it or not but the original energizer batteries are still good, the indicator is in yellow about 3 quaters. Juat bought a second one and i will not buy anything else, this is the best bang for the buck in my opinion.
Thanks for sharing! Yea I ended up buying a few more. They do pretty well!
Thanks for this review! I got this as a Xmas present and I really don't want to read the manual. Your video answered all of my questions and I am ready to go. I am not a hunter but this will be fun to use at the family cabin. Thanks from 🇨🇦
Awesome! Thanks for sharing that, appreciate it!
Great review, just received mine. Bought it off of Amazon for $39.99 (Lightning Deal Price), looking forward to getting it setup.
That is a good price! Hope it works for ya!
Since you have had you camera, what are your thoughts on it?
@@billymann5325 For the price it's a good camera! Battery life is good, the PIR sensor is really good and the pics are ok. The only thing I don't like about them is how it crops the photos on the left and right side of the frame so you lose a good amount of coverage unless you run it in video mode which is mostly how I use it
Very easy set-up 👍 Was watching a video on how to set up an expensive Bushnell and my mind got confused on how to get started with the menu options
I haven't tried the Bushnell yet. Maybe someday. Thanks for watching
Thank you for making a clear and concise straight to the point easy to follow instructions.

Thanks for the review, Jase!
Thank you for you, Sean!
:-)
Excellent review, just ordered one. Thanks 👍🏻🙏🏼😎
Oh nice, good luck! Thanks for watching!
Don't cry Jase! Maybe I am looking at it wrong but I don't like the fact the lock doesn't go around the camera. So someone can check the card if they don't want to steal it or just take the batteries out to mess with it. Other than that it seems like a bargain.
Yea, there is no lock on the lid to prevent people from taking the SD card out. I guess that's better than taking the whole camera
Really helpful presentation. I’m new to this and the manual isn’t great reading (Quelle surprise). Thanks.
Appreciate that! Thank you!
Great video....helped me get this thing working.....I appreciate it....subscribed
Thanks Bob! Appreciate it!
Very good job on the video. It looks like a pretty good camera at a very good price.
Thanks
Thanks bud! Yea, I gotta say. I was hesitant on even doing the video because I wasn't expecting much good from it. I was really surprised how well it performed for only a $60 cam!
Hi, very good video man! Have you had some false shots or triggering with this cam? Or does it seems to take the shots when it should?
Hardly any false triggers. I'm amazed at how well this trigger actually works. There has been times where I thought I had false triggers and after looking closer there was a deer in the thick brush over 20 yards away. Couldn't believe it. The only thing I don't like about this cam is in photo mode it crops off the ends of the frame so it can detect motion and trigger but there'll be nothing in the frame. I often use this cam in video mode and then you get the full image
Great video
Thank you!
right at 12:04 to check your photos !! in the manual it states always go from OFF to TEST !! Going from ON to TEST could lock up your Camera that you did !!
I haven't had that happen yet but I'll keep that in mind. Thanks
@@JaseOutdoorsyea I watched your vid before reading the manual and realized I did that about 20 times lol FFS !! nothing like breaking in the new Cam on the first day ! ...How well does this Camera do in below zero temp like -5 - 10 would you know close you would be to detect temp
@@80sguy79 it hasn't been a cold winter here at all so I really don't know about that yet.
What SD card did you use? I used a 128gb card and it refused to take it.
SanDisk cards. Most cameras only take up to a 64gb card so that's most likely the problem
My trail cam has stopped taking pics
I tried in the wild I tried it on me
Its stopped
What might be the reason
It used to work fine last week
After that now sometimes it takes pics of me settings up the cam but after that nothing
Excellent review. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Great review, I don't like reading manual but how much memory you can install on this cam? What height did you install the cam? Thanks in advance.
I'm pretty sure the biggest SD card you can use is 32gb. This cam I've had set at many different heights and the motion sensor works really well. I like this cam in video mode the best
Awesome information thank you 😊
Thank you!
Mine is stuck on a screen when i plus the usb charger in??? Do i need a sd in there or battery’s for it to function?
Yes, you need batteries, either lithium or rechargeable and an SD to store the photos
@@JaseOutdoors i cant even go through the menu, id that due to not having a sd?
Probably. I'm pretty sure it won't function correctly without an SD card
Does the Apeman H55 have internal storage or do you have to buy an SD card for storage? Thanks. Good video.
Needs and SD card. Thanks for watching!
Good review, thanks for sharing.
Is the time lapse setting configurable at all? (e.g. 2s, 5s, 10s etc.)
Thanks!
Yes, you can set the interval for time lapse but I forget how short I can be. I believe 5 seconds. I've never used it in time lapse mode cause it burns the batteries so dang quick. Let me know if you use it like that and how long it lasts
I have had my apeman H55 camera out for a few week now...The one thing that stands out to me is this camera doesn't pick up movement from animals until there like 10 yards away. I have the sensitivity setting set on Medium. I wonder if it will pick up movement from further away when you put the sensitivity on High?...Wonder if anyone can help or relate to this.
I gotta say this camera picks up deer from surprisingly long distances. I'm wondering if there isn't something wrong with your PIR sensor
Of i would want to use this outside my house to monitor things could I plug an ac adapter into it instead of batteries?
It does have a DC in port but doesn't come with a cord for that
@@JaseOutdoors Hello and thanks for this good unboxing ;-) Like rIta04 I'd like to use the DC plug ( connected to a bike's bttery for example ) , so my question is : Is the Dc plug in 6V or 12V ? ( might be 12 Volts because of the 8 AA batteries so 8x1.5V = 12V , but I prefer to be sure... ) Thanks anyway and best regards from Ardêche , south of France
How can you easily watch the recorded files? Can you choose a high speed during the rewatch? I'm going to use it as a security camera, so I just want to see (easily) if something strange happens.
You have to either watch them on the LCD screen in the camera or you'll have to pull the SD card and watch the files on the computer. If you're looking to use it as security you might want to look into the outdoor cams that connect to your WiFi and you can watch from your phone live
Thats all three of my Apeman cameras now letting in water and fogging up.
Yikes! Time to go to cellular!
whats the size of the thread at the bottom? the tripod hole.
The size is called 1/4 20
Nice review thanks
Thank you!
I have a bunch of browning trail cams and I am able to 'name, tag, identify' each camera on the viewing screen such as example, camera1, camera2, camera3 and so on, so that I can identify what pics I'm looking at from what cam. Can you do that with theses Apeman H55 trail cams?
Ya know, I can't remember. I believe so but I've done so many different camera reviews that I can't remember. Most of them do. Next time I check the cam I'll have to double check.
I just checked for ya. It does have a way to name each camera but only by a 4 digit number. In the menu it's under "serial number"
@@JaseOutdoors Thanks Jase!
On my box it says 20megapixels, not 16..
Are you sure it's just 16?
Yes, this one is the 16mp version. There is now a 20mp version that you apparently have. I haven't tried that one yet
¿las pilas cuanto duran?
How long are the batteries?
Battery life is pretty good! I just pulled a camera that was out all winter in the cold and in video mode and still had half the battery life
How cold can it be for me to use this? Like can I use it in winter
Yep! Sure can. I had mine out all winter. Works well
can you please tell me if at night was there any lights showing on it
thank you
andy
This cam is no glow so there are no visible lights in the dark
I'm currently working on the bigger model right now. Has 30mp sensor and 4k video. Might want to see what this one does. I'm curious myself
Thanks I’m looking at the 20MP one
It's a pretty good camera especially for the price
How much Maximum memory card?
And Maximum battery can use?
32 gig card. Takes 8 batteries and they last really well. I had on out over the whole winter and they still had life left
Does the trigger lights a red light????During the day
Not really sure what you mean. There are no visible lights on this camera when it's turned on. Only in test mode
@@JaseOutdoors i mean when i turn it on and walk in front to check if is recording a red light switches on if I move stops and then if I move it starts again
Thank you for your reply, maybe something is wrong with mine I've just bought it and that is an important issue for me. Don't want any IR light on .
@@JaseOutdoors you know in your video you turn it on and go back to the tree etc. How do you know when is recording ,
@@mardelpi you don't. No lights come on when it's recording so nothing sees the camera
good job
Thank you!
Mine lasted 1 year and 3 months running 24/7.
Just stopped working?
@@JaseOutdoors yes it done it before and I pulled the batteries out and let it sit for a day reinstall batteries and it worked. Maybe it will do the same again.
Hmm... wish I could help ya. I haven't had any problems yet, but I take mine down for 2 months in the winter
@@JaseOutdoors camera is back going. New lithium battery failed
Oooo yea, I've had that happen before. Several times actually with batteries from Amazon
did you use the sd card? or will it work without a card?
Yea, It needs a card
You got hos. There will be bros :)
Lol! I hope so!
-I MOUNTED MINE INSIDE a titanium steel box with 6 layers of steel racing unbreakable glass we wielded the entire box around a huge living oak tree, we then got my friend who is professional tree climber to hang several other cameras in various positions throughout the area some as high as 90 feet up, what we found by doing this is to disturbing to post on youtube, i can tell you this find another hobby or you will be at war with them as we now are .
What exactly are you referring to. Something paranormal?
@@paranormaladventurer4922 It's way beyond paranormal, there are things in this world that just are to far out of our scope of understanding. Things we have all been told were just legends or folklore, or just campfire stories, seems that it and much much more is actually completely real,Paranormal Adventurer, i am here to tell you sir that monsters are real 100% flesh and blood, and some of them are capable of making us see anything that they choose us to see. When a being is capable of accessing more of the brain than us at10% they can actually create matter out of thin air, a guess at least 30 -40% maybe more or less , humans have these so called paranormal abilities at 12 - 13% our very best 15% we know this by using a cat scan, i have no doubt that jesus turned water in to wine, or healed the cripples, the blind could see again, the fact these things most likely occurred making me think that God and Jesus may have been one in the same, but i just do not know for sure . If these creatures are relatives of the nephilim, well we are all in big trouble, today there are thousands of them in the US alone, last month we spotted a group in a field a meeting or possible funeral at least 40 of them , 1 mile away they heard me whispering, all walked back in to the forest, day time 1 mile away hidden in the woods watching them, i don't think that they are our friends , friends do not hide . abominations do hide
@@dr.robertsmith1971 I don't doubt what you are saying. I pick up a lot of terrifying phrases and conversations in the middle of the woods at night time where no one should be around, even a spirit. I've had voice recorders thrown onto the ground on three different occasions, with a trail camera facing the recorder! But it never activates the camera! So this is gives credence to what you are saying. There are some beings out there who are able to turn their invisibility on or off. If they are nephilim, maybe this explains all the evil pervading our world right now.
Dont bother with these cameras.
They let in moisture and fog up really bad.... i have had x2 units in the last year and both failed.
Mine has been doing really well!! Thanks for sharing!
I just picked one up for $39
Wow, can't beat that!
@@JaseOutdoors amazon prime day deal is what it said
Dang, I'll have to check quick
Excellent review. Thanks
