I finally snagged one of these when I saw the Star Wars Jedi models, I had to get one. I got the Jedi master with the green blade. Love the thing to death. Everything about it is spot on. I carry it everyday (what Jedi leaves his saber?) both on and off duty, Navy MP.
i gotta say Nut'n, i feel the same exact way about my Microtech collection...only in a dire financial/health crisis would i consider selling any of them...God forbid....i watched your Socom Elite review, many times, years back and began to appreciate (if not purchase) MT knives..later, as i started buying a better quality of knife the possibility of owning something from Microtech became a reality....it started with a Combat Troodon (go big or go home) from PVK and a early used Socom M/A from Arizona Custom Knives...and i was hooked on a brand and a level of quality i thought i would never come to own as a guy who loved knives....thank you for doing what you do ...as a resident of Brooklyn NYC, my knife hobby is relegated to being a collector only and around the house/garage user....the laws and penalties here are to limiting and serious to carry on a regular basis...but that does not diminish the pure JOY i get from collecting...i love to hear your opinion on blades and other things/topics, and will always look forward to KRVs on your channel...
The utx 85 is 85% and it's the utx 70 that's 70% the size of the ultratech. Keep the awesome reviews coming. You ALWAYS know your details, and keep the good work coming!
I deal in Microtech and Strider almost exclusively, the "limited edition" microtech stuff much like the Carbon Fiber topped knives hold and retain value. The "standard" production stuff like an all aluminum ultratech will never really appreciate and you will sell it at a slight loss due to the more limited nature of Automatics.
lots of people that have tried my ultratech are surprised at how stiff the deployment and retraction are. some dont have the thumb strength to do it. really nice the utx 70 and 85 have lightened that up a bit. ive had maybe 4 ultratechs? down to 1. the blue has worn off of the handle horribly. i should have stayed with black. im going to keep this ultratech as my last and only otf. im into the framelock flippers like everyone else now. emerson wave for life! the para 2 is still probably my all around favorite because spyder hole. oh yeah i have the dagger edge still haha. i think the single edge is the most practical. i wanted the tanto. the bayonet edge is the one i sold last.
I wish I could show you a picture of the microtech ludt clipped to my pocket right now. all the high points are worn down and I have had it in rotation almost a year now.
big fan, glad to see a newer microtech vid. New to them, and I love them. Actually have one waiting in the mail for when I get home! Cant wait. Keep it up NUTN
Still rocking it dude!!!! Love all the new stuf Nutn and Doodle!!! I still have the 10/22 I won from you wayyyyy back in the day. I just picked up the Monkey Edge limited edition "frag" texture bayonet blade in purple and stonewashed blade off blade forums used for $180 and its awesome!
It's nothing like any other activation trigger for other tools. The release needs to be actuated from pressure while the body is immobile, and the force required to do so is a lot more than I can imagine incidentally come together in-pocket. If anything, most OTF's around here have been too hard to actuate! (Prolly to keep the legal dept. happy) -Doodle
I can hand my microtech to a 5 year old and be confident they have no chance in hell of deploying the blade. Mine is a 2014 ultratech and you need some serious strength in your thumb to deploy it. You need to play with it to get the strength necessary built up in your thumb.
Bryce P The buttons are stiff so probably not but yes it is possible. I have a collection of microtech and benchmade and my benchmade AFO popped open in my pocket. it was more unpleasant because I carry tip down for faster deployment. I. stopped carrying them because it sometimes takes more time to bring the knife into the right hand position, then find and push the button. I grab the cold steel voyager tanto xl more these days, same blade for 25 years, because I can draw it and flick it open in one motion. people who see me do this ask if it's a switchblade and are surprised when I tell them it's not. I've found that smooth manual blades are generally faster, with practice of course. 4 me nothing is faster than my spyderco military tip down. it's like Nutn said , they're more curiosity pieces than battle weapons, although the shtf microtech, benchmade, and protech are money well spent.
Hey nutnfancy, I love your channel and follow closely. But have to admit that I couldn't stand the knife stuff. Well for some reason all that changed with a recent video of yours and now I'm addicted!!! 3 bench mades in one day and looking for more! Thanks for all you do brother Eli
Cmon nutn you did all that stuff but left the factory Glock sights on it?! There not bad sight picture wise but in terms of durability there horrible they really need to make them out of steel then they would be pretty damn close to a perfect out of the box gtw pistol in my opinion.
Hey Nutn, what grip plug is that in your G17? It looks like the Larry Vickers one from Tango Down. But I can't find anywhere that has them for a Gen4 gun. Only Gen3. What brand is that and where did you get it? +Nutnfancy?
Yup. Just for some imagery, I threw some down as a backdrop since it did some cool things to the coloration of the stuff we had on top. The PPK looked rad! Originally, we were gonna offer 1/2 lb's through the webstore for funsies, but we ended up holding onto it. -Doodle
g19>g17 people say longer sight radius is the reason but why then not go to a ls g17 with a ported barrel and slide ect?too much.just like the g17 or even 18,its simply not needed.
For some reason they don't bother finishing the videos until they have a certain number of views? I guess? Anyway I think that might be what happened here if there was no description 7 hours ago....
Can't figure out that MicroTech obsession some have. I've seen them, held them, and I'm just kind of "eh." My granny likes my Tanto Sebenza 21! Or my Benchmades. On my ZT 0392. Or my Spidercos. Microtech? Eh. I'll take a Kershaw Launch 1 instead.
I will almost (without searching for it) guarantee they outsource their springs. So it's really not their fault you encountered a defective spring. What makes a company great/ poor is how they handle your situation. Only then should you hold a company to blacklist standards.
Man I'm pretty over the OTF knifes already. The extra loose blade play that's inherited in such design meas they can never be as practical and robust as regular flip out folding kn ifes.
Rock _ 7.62x39 cool guns, a buddy of mine picked one up for like $1200. my buddies barrel looks sub 16", if it's 16, it's a compact package as all bps r
Gift idea for a gift for myself after graduating boot camp : Microtech Ultratech. Wish I could find a Venomtech that'd be a dream but a tanto Ultra would make me just as happy.
The UTX 85 is 85% of the size of the Ultratech. The UTX 70 is 70% of the Ultratech.
You keep saying 70 % of an ultratech. I believe it is 85 % thus the name utx85.
Out of all your videos....I love the knife reviews the best
Elliott Coker couldn't agree more
Elliott Coker I'm more into firearms, but his knife reviews are for sure good!
Elliott Coker
It was the initial draw, and it's what keeps me around. :)
I love a good grv, but it's the KRVs that turn me on. :)
That UTX is tempting!
I can get a H&K USP 9 for the same price as a Glock 17 here in Canada. Glocks have shot up in price to the point where they are pointless.
I finally snagged one of these when I saw the Star Wars Jedi models, I had to get one. I got the Jedi master with the green blade. Love the thing to death. Everything about it is spot on. I carry it everyday (what Jedi leaves his saber?) both on and off duty, Navy MP.
Anthony does great custom work as well.
some of the most gorgeous blades.
Nothing like Thanksgiving left overs and some new knife vids.

More Microtech and Spyderco content Nutn! Love it!

I'm feeling a TNP Microtech Mini LUDT (old udt size), if it ever happens, would love a month heads up so I can save up haha
If you weren't interested in collectability or resale, but wanted an OTF knife on a budget... What's your pick? It would be EDC.
I wish I could show you a picture of the microtech ludt clipped to my pocket right now. all the high points are worn down and I have had it in rotation almost a year now.
Have pretty much the same set up. Bronze g19 with bronze TLR-1. No complaints, great gun.
I love the Star Wars series Microtechs doing, had to return mine after about two weeks for a warranty issue though. Still great blade and quality.
big fan, glad to see a newer microtech vid. New to them, and I love them. Actually have one waiting in the mail for when I get home! Cant wait. Keep it up NUTN

I've been checking blade has for 6 months waiting for them to get a Microtech halo tanto tan camo.
I have a bunch of their OTF knives...but every time I see a new one...I need it. Someday I'm going to have to sell some...
great video any cases coming up??
I "hard use" my ultratech =/
Very nice it's on the front page of bladehq. Ever had a problem ND'ing an OTF in your pocket before? I've always wanted one.
Bryce P Don't worry about it. Trust me.
It's nothing like any other activation trigger for other tools. Happy Thanksgiving. Keep up the great videos! Looking forward to the PM3 review.
The shape of the blade looks amazing too. Looks so good. Can't afford / not legal in my state... but what a cool knife.
Hey man, I enjoy your stuff. Keep it up.
Browning x bolt review?
Hey nutnfancy,
I love your channel and follow closely. But have to admit that I couldn't stand the knife stuff.
Well for some reason all that changed with a recent video of yours and now I'm addicted!!! 3 bench mades in one day and looking for more! Thanks for all you do brother
Eli
Nutn, can you weigh in on the rat worx mini chain knife? I have a feeling you will say it's too heavy but not sure if you've come in contact with one.
Cmon nutn you did all that stuff but left the factory Glock sights on it?! There not bad sight picture wise but in terms of durability there horrible they really need to make them out of steel then they would be pretty damn close to a perfect out of the box gtw pistol in my opinion.
Out of all that shit you did to that g17, you're not putting better sights on it?!
Hey Nutn, what grip plug is that in your G17? It looks like the Larry Vickers one from Tango Down. But I can't find anywhere that has them for a Gen4 gun. Only Gen3. What brand is that and where did you get it? +Nutnfancy?
my choice PPQ 9mm great gun!!!!!😕
Is that your copper, Nutn?
Yup. Just for some imagery, I threw some down as a backdrop since it did some cool things to the coloration of the stuff we had on top. The PPK looked rad! Originally, we were gonna offer 1/2 lb's through the webstore for funsies, but we ended up holding onto it. -Doodle
nutnfancy Very nice
How much do you keep around?
nutnfancy
Huh, I didn't know that was even a thing. Makes sense though I guess.
Knife reviews ROCK... THANKS NUTN !!

Jesus H Medrano I just got them from the knife store in the mall. I have 2 , Standard switchblade only smaller obviously and a wooden handle version.
g19>g17
people say longer sight radius is the reason but why then not go to a ls g17 with a ported barrel and slide ect?too much.just like the g17 or even 18,its simply not needed.
Review the URBAN CARRY G2
link in the description?
For some reason they don't bother finishing the videos until they have a certain number of views? I guess? Anyway I think that might be what happened here if there was no description 7 hours ago....
Got one on the way, along with the protech harkins da that blade HQ was doing a 1/200. Should look nice with my kimber master carry pro
is that gold or bakar?
bakar, aka 'copper'.
Player Review yes I was think on that :)
SICK ASS COLOR ON THE GLOCK
not legal here in Louisiana
I love Microtech!
my granny would dig this blade!!!
Well they are gone... Damn Nutn you could sell snow to Eskimos.
Can't figure out that MicroTech obsession some have. I've seen them, held them, and I'm just kind of "eh." My granny likes my Tanto Sebenza 21! Or my Benchmades. On my ZT 0392. Or my Spidercos. Microtech? Eh. I'll take a Kershaw Launch 1 instead.
hahaha I think your grandma needs to do knife reviews!
Maybe just not into OTF's?
I'd totally be down for Spyderco if so much of their stuff wasn't foreign made.
Nutn you should do a run and gun!!!!
Hi nutn. My dad and I are big fans.
Tyler Bowers hi
Star wars edition is pretty cool
Love my UTX-85!
thanks for the video nutn
I love the eye catching title lol.
says me < new patch do it
I hate that funky silver ring on the light. Apparently its a "trademark" of streamlight
I love my Ultratech D/E
My 85 broke literally in a week (spring snapped). Not sure what microtech is up to but quality seems down to me. Won't purchase a microtech again.
One bad spring doesn't mean their quality is lacking... it means you've expirienced real life, where things go wrong sometimes...
Very nice knives.
super not legal in canada
I regret selling my HK Turmoil.
ha...wide clip for tactical pants...more like wide clip for nice sweatpants! ...at least that's what I like that feature for. :P
I had one of microtechs aug clones it was a cool gun but not vary practical or reliable
Rock _ 7.62x39 cool guns, a buddy of mine picked one up for like $1200. my buddies barrel looks sub 16", if it's 16, it's a compact package as all bps r
What i didnt like about it was after mounting an optic and a 30 round mag the gun was too tall and bulky
Too bad , Switchblades are illegal here :(
.
.
best title of the year...
Glock 17 for the win
totally dig this vid!!!!!
The clip is VERY sebenza'ish
Get ready to cerakote that slide when it starts pitting from rust... USA slides suck
Dude it's your reference! Show more of it you make nothing but sense
Btw love microtech
You should have a vid on precious metals
Bravo
I love that knife something terrible!!!
Not interested in Microtech. Just watched because of the title. Hahaha!
Gift idea for a gift for myself after graduating boot camp : Microtech Ultratech. Wish I could find a Venomtech that'd be a dream but a tanto Ultra would make me just as happy.
at 2.8 oz it would make a great bayonet for that glock
My go to gun is a Glock 23 Gen 4. Then my Glock 19. Then my Glock 30 all Gen 4
First!
second
Well they are gone... Damn Nutn you could sell snow to Eskimos.
