Hi there mate! I've just bought the ROG Ally, too but didn't have time to set it up and test properly yet. I also have a Steam deck and I've been frequently checking your videos for best settings recommendations. You've saved me a lot of time tinkering with graphics options! Anyway, to cut to the chase, could you possibly try testing ROG Ally with Jedi Survivor and Dead Island 2? I'd be very grateful. Keep up good work mate and greetings from Poland!
because most games cannot go 1080p with all settings all up, its impossible, rather go for 720 with good settings and good framerate and upscale with to 1080 with RSR, 1080 is mostly useless on handlemode, its great for indies games when the artwork will be visually stunning on 1080 with great preformance.
Hi! Thank you for video! Game looks and perform excellent! How long you can play on battery only? Is it possible to play at least 2-3 hours "on go" mode?
I was looking forward to this video. It’s definitely answered some questions I had about the Asus ROG against the Steamdeck. I have a 512GB Steamdeck and I play Days Gone at a locked 30FPS, mostly high graphics and a few medium settings and at 10 watts. And the game is as smooth as silk and looks amazing. And I was thinking of getting the Asus ROG. But after seeing the state of Days Gone on it at 10 watts, and it couldn’t even maintain a stable 30FPS… I’ll be sticking with my Steamdeck and wait for Steamdeck 2.
Yeah, i was honestly expecting the performance to be a lot better, considering how well optimised this game is and how well it runs on the Steam Deck. Also, for some reason, the textures look really washed out at 6:03 . If you look at the car behind Decon and Decons trousers there's not a lot of detail it's as if the device is having a hard time properly rendering them in, The rock wall at 6:20 looks off too I've never noticed those kinds of issues on the Steam Deck while playing Days Gone personally.
Also did you notice when Max went for the high graphics going for 60FPS, at 12m 37s when Deacon checked the door to the NERO unit, the door, the letters etc, it’s kinda blurry. And at 12m 54s it looks like Deacon is sinking in quick sand ha. There’s none of that on my Steamdeck.
It took the deck many updates to become stable. The Ally just released, give it some time and I hope it improves. I wish I could’ve stayed with the deck and to support Linux but there are games that I love that simply can’t run on the Ally because of anti cheat so I gotta stick with asus on this one. Glad you are enjoying your deck, it’s a great device.
You know this comment is usually made by haters, don’t you? You ever take into consideration the difference between displays, the quality of the graphics? Even 480p would look better on Ally with high/ ultra quality than a 800p with low graphics. Anyway, when you’ll test the Ally, you’ll see the difference. Until then, yes, Ally does look and performs better than Steam Deck.
@MGT - Max Games Tech Dude, you just said a whole lot of nothing. You aren't even using RSR which would mitigate the visual fidelity loss going down to 720p from native 1080p. Steam Decks native resolution is 1280x800 and you are literally running the Ally at non-native 720p. And I've seen another post where you claim playing at 1080p is wateful. You aren't "wasting resources" or power by playing at native 1080p with FSR on or even off. At least use RSR..
You know I started following you cause you was a real true steam deck user….and I enjoy your videos cause you was so dedicated to the steam deck….but you like many others have fallen into the rog ally bandwagon….I understand it’s a cool powerful device…but don’t forget that the steam deck got you where you are today….and to hear you now belittling the steam deck is not cool cause most of your viewers came from the steam deck … so please stop belittling the steam deck and keep adding steam deck content don’t forget about your followers that been with you since the beginning of the steam deck… thank you
You still have your Steam Deck content here. From what you’re saying, you want some lies to be told in videos, only to keep the idea that Steam Deck is the most powerful. This is not fallen or changing sides. I paid for my devices and I will say only the truth. Steam Deck is a great device, but at this moment Ally has more to offer at a better quality. So will be when Steam Deck 2 will be released. So will be when Ally 2 will be released. This is life. Just enjoy your device, and don’t think who is the most powerful. Just have fun. And don’t ask others to say something that isn’t.
Yeah it's dumb and annoying how much he is praising the Ally and yet doesn't even take full advantage of it's power. He doesn't realize that running 720p on a 1080p device will never look as good as native resolution. No way going down to 720p from native 1080p will look better than SD native 800p resolution. He isn't even using RSR which would give the Ally the edge. I can't watch this guy's videos about the Ally anymore because he runs every game at 720p and belittles the SD because there's a new kid on the block so to speak. Just dumb all around.

Been waiting for this one 👌
Again, why people keep playing 720p when it’s a 1080p machine and keep calling it amazing?
No quality difference in 7 inch display

If you don't like it watch something else carry on
Normal gamers don't want to play on low graphics settings with shitty graphics, it's better to run 720 medium-high or ultra settings than 1080 low
@@lucamarini7560 There's absolutely a difference, even on a 7 inch display.
Hi! Thank you for video! Game looks and perform excellent! How long you can play on battery only? Is it possible to play at least 2-3 hours "on go" mode?
Wow, almost 60FPS with the custom settings.
Would you say the Ally is more powerful that the Steam Deck when using Turbo mode?
Of course it is
Light-years

playing days gone on my deck at a consistent 60fps custom very high - high settings at around 66 to 74 degrees celsius temp.
where is 1080p
No you really seem to know how RSR proper works and IF it’s really turned on. I hope Asus shows a tutorial for it someday. 😅
Why only 720p? 1080p.

No no.1080p is better choice.
is this the only game you play?
