- Is it any good? Find out if this budget spindle sander is any good.
This is a review of the budget Triton Oscillating Spindle sander TSPS450, I've been using this for 4 months now in my wood workshop and am very pleased with the product, there are a couple of small modifications I've made and I cover these in the video.
I didn't buy sander to review, I bought it because I needed on for a DIY project my son was working on, I'd always wanted one so it felt was a great excuse to get one!
The sander came with a 3yr warrantee / guarantee
Pros:
- Good value for money
- Works well
- Dust free
Cons:
- Minor issues with the dust port connecting to a Henry hoover - I show how I fixed this with a 3D printed part, but you could just use electrical tape
- Nowhere to store the washers needed to compress the bobbins. easily fixed using a piece of M8 stud.
(Both cons I fixed very easily see video).
The sander seems to also be sold by other brands such as VonHaus, and Draper.

I added the 3D printed dust extractor nozzle to Thingiverse for anyone that wants it www.thingiverse.com/thing:4662830/files
Thank you for the review. I’m about to pull the trigger and buy one of these and your demonstration and thoughts have been helpful. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
I'm glad it helped, whilst it is a cheap oscillating sander I've been very pleased with it, hopefully you will too.
Good review, I have this on my xmas list so fingers crossed, I've noticed of late Amazon prices have rocketed currently its in Toolstation at the minute for £129.98.
Thanks for the feedback. It is a great tool - I forgot to mention it has a 3yr warranty.
Found one brand new in the dump today in the box. Works mint
Wow, what a great find!
Just ordered this one today £126 from Amazon Screwfix same model £175
That sounds like a bargain 😀
Does yours automatically shut itself off? Hoping it's a safety feature and is not broken
No, it stays on, but I haven't used for long periods, usually no more than 10 min at a time.
@@DIYTinkerer I think it's going into protection mode as it's run on same extension supplying my dust extractor
