Kyle Korver - Sharpshooter

  • Kyle Korver currently sits 8th on the NBA’s all-time career 3 point leaders, and holds the record for the highest 3 point field goal percentage for a single season at 53.6% in 2009-10. He is also among the NCAA D-1 career 3 point leaders, and holds the distinction of having the highest 3 point percentage among the group (at 45.3% or 371-819). While with the Atlanta Hawks, he came an All-Star in 2015, and helped guide the team to a franchise best 60 wins that season. Not bad at all for the 51st overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft.
Kyle Korver can create chaos with his crafty, old school game. His shooting is obviously game planned for league-wide, but his mobility and ability to improvise on offense is awe-inspiring. Well aware of his gravity, Kyle gradually gives the defenses one look one time down the floor, then bends them in a different direction to generate openings elsewhere. There are a few plays here where you can see him shifting all the action and weak side help in one direction, only to free-lance a flare cut to create elsewhere.
I really liked putting this video together as a sort of “how to” on getting open using v cuts, and l cuts, zipper cuts, shuffle cuts, flares and flexes, and all that, but as Kyle’s time in Atlanta came to an end, it sort of morphed into a tribute to his time there. I should’ve known better than to try and make a game plan for Kyle Korver, because he always ends up forcing you to adjust to him anyway.

x Lacafload plus he can splash them while in motion which is extremely difficult. like hr can be speeding around a screen and still get an accurate shot off

While defending, using lockdown would be effective. But this guy is sprinting through cuts and screens, sometimes the defender is lost. And he'll shoot 3 out of nowhere, he needs a quick force to shoot moving 3 pointer.

-Matteoo. I love Ellington's movement his midrange is lethal. He is a better creator than Korver he's got a nasty stepback game. Korver better at the catch and shoot.

Heat are so fun to watch. I've always been a fan of Dragic. So glad to see one of our own James Johnson doing so well coach Spo has unlocked the beast in JJ making him handle the ball, making him more involve in the offense something we our coach didnt let him do. JJ couldn't shoot a lick for the Raptors so happy he improved that and that athleticism is amazing on both ends.
