The NBA Forgot About Ja Morant

  • Ja Morant missed the majority of the 2024 NBA season, and the Memphis Grizzlies missed the playoffs despite being firmly in the playoff hunt over the last few seasons.
    But now, Ja Morant is set to return for the 2025 NBA Season, and the Grizzlies are set up for him to have the best season of his career with a strong supporting cast around him.
    Ja Morant isn't just one of the most explosive athletes in the league, throwing down highlight reel-worth dunks, he's also one of the most electric passers in the league.
    Many might've forgotten how good Ja Morant is, but they're gonna be reminded very soon.

    Despite the West being so competitive, I could realistically see the grizzlies with a fully healthy roster as a strong 4 seed. Obviously OKC, Mavs, and t wolves are ahead of them, but with the nuggets losing Kcp I could see the grizzlies taking the 4th spot. Especially with PG going to the 76ers and the clippers being out the picture as well. If everything goes right and they're healthy they could definitely go into the first round with home court advantage.

    I think Memphis is such a great regular season team. They haven't proved anything in the playoffs, but having a super dynamic PG, a great two way efficient SG, a all defensive PF, and a great supporting cast is going to get you far in the regular season. I also think their team is better than any other year. They have Smart over Brooks (who was crazy there). They have Edey as a center which they haven't had since Adams was good. They have GG and Vince Williams to play wings positions and grow with the team. Overall they should be an above 50 wins team, I would bet on it, and I did bet on it

  • @ScottySkilz1
    @ScottySkilz1 26 дней назад +19

    the problem with Morant is his explosiveness....now hear me out. the most games he has played was his rookie year at 67 when he caught a lot of people off guard. now that same explosiveness is just a detriment ie like a guard named derek rose. even tho peek Rose did win MVP, once the injuries started mounting up he was never the same. so Ja is averaging 60 games a year (if you dont include his first and last year) but if you include those years he averages 51 games a year. Memphis showed that they they cant win without Ja (except for year 3 i think they went 20-5 without Ja) but they had Tyus Jones which in my opinion is highly underrated backup PG. and if you try to say well he can just try and not be as explosive then you are looking at a career 31% three point shooter.
