- A clip of Cisco Houston performing the very famous Cowboy ballad, also known as 'The Cowboy's Lament'. From 1960. This clip is taken from a show, whose name I don't know yet, which featured a 25-minute performance by Cynthia Gooding, John Sellers, and Cisco Houston.
Hey everyone, the show was Folk Sound USA, broadcast on June 16, 1960.
Whoever gave this a thumbs down, come to Ohio and I'll lay you down. Cisco is an American hero and this is a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song and that is not subjective that is a fact
Yup, he done wrong.
Give that fella a tune up as we used to say back in the day!
He looked like such a dignified man. He stood for everything the blue collar American goes through. This man was a philosopher and a cultural hero. May he rest in peace.
Cisco made so many good songs especially buffalo skinner and pastures of plenty…. They were remakes of woody Guthrie tho.. but they are legendary, who ever is reading this you should listen to them 100%
Wonderful! This is the first time I can see Cisco in a clip, thanks for this!
You are welcome!! Thank you for also keeping fresh Cisco's legacy on RUclips, without you I wouldn't have even heard of Cisco. I am happy I have contributed to Cisco's legacy...
Me too. I've been a fan of Cisco for 25 years, but this is the first time I've seen a moving image of him. Fare Thee Well, Cisco!
CISCO created the arrangements of so many of these classic songs that made later versions hits.
He died very young
