  • Day 3 in La Jolla and all of the irrigation issues have been resolved thanks to Greg. The Crew crushed it today sinking plants, knitting together tapestries, planting and topdressing pots and spreading pebbles. We’re expecting some rain tomorrow morning, so we''ll play the Grand Reveal by ear.
    Love you guys!

You’re so helping me get over my fear of over planting a succulent pot. You always have such beautiful creations and seeing them improve in looks over time!
I have a LOT of gastria and haworthia so I’m having trouble planning for their growth. Still new and still expecting huge growth I know isn’t coming ha ha.

The tallish red bromeliads pop next to the house between the green plants and gray buttons. The way you broke up the ocean of gray buttons with the round river rock is cool. See we viewers are learning from you.
Shout out to Greg for his extra work here. Did you tip him or give him a raise?

Every area of the property has its own unique look and each one is spectacular. I like the walkways balance of open spaces on one side and abundantly filled on the other.

Another great installation. I'm so glad the lonely round boulder was joined by so many more. The steel was trademarked as "Cor-Ten". It was said to develop a protective rust surface that did not continue into greater depth, Then it was pronounced "Core Ten" and now generic like Kleenex etc.

Nicely done! 🎉 So lucky to have Greg on hand to troubleshoot those pesky water issues. 👍🏼 I must say, every time you do a tour I’m ready and willing to blow out my gardening budget. So many beautiful plants!!
Looking forward to seeing the grand reveal - hope the rain isn’t as bad as predicted.

So glad you kept the holly ferns. I was gonna say the other day that I imagine they’re quite shade succulent compatible. And they have a really unique texture because of their asymmetrical growth habit. AND they’re slow growing!
