Canon states it does not have updated Drivers for Windows 10 for the older models. Mine is 2016. No driver exists on the Canon website. I've tried every suggestion, like using a Windows 8 driver. However, my Windows 10 has rejected ALL DOWNLOADS! For INCOMPATIBLITY!

Hi i've been trying this it went well but at the end of the installation of the driver it keep on saying the printer is not detected after a while so i need to turn on and off my printer ..do you have any solution for this? Please help

@@MDTechVideos They were being sarcastic lol. You stopped the installation at the part where it asks you to connect to the printer, which according to reddit and the canon forums is a part where a lot of people get stuck.

@@jennifermolina153 I never did. I eventually just gave up. waited too long to return it so the printer has been under my bed for the last 8 months or so.
You have to remove the printer from your printer list in settings first, unplug and turn the printer off, then plug it back in

I have followed the instruction and reached at the point where it was showing the msg for connecting the printer to laptop. You pushed the cancel button because you did not want to install the driver but I connected the printer with laptop and it detected the printer and start installing the remaining but it stayed they like forever. Never went farther. . What seems to be the problem. I have also changed the USB cable twice. Please guide me through

i had the same exact issue. i must have canceled and restarted the installation at least 5 times and kept getting stuck on that connection to printer page... i had to go into My Devices and forget that printer, turn off my PC, turn it back on, and power back on the printer. after that, my PC recognized the drivers and the printer.

I want to thank you for this video - it was a huge help. I thought I had run the printer program on my new laptop - but did not realise there was a separate driver for scanning. Doh !

Love all your videos as they have helped me in the past. My latest problem is, I have a Canon Pixma MG4250 printer and it has been working great for years with NO problems, until recently. Something happen with using the scanner, usually it worked automatically, but recently when I press the scanner button, I get the message "configure scanner to PC" it no longer does it automatically. I can scan using the scan utility tray, but it will only scan one page in PDF, whereas before I could scan multiple pages within PDF. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Canon will not issue drivers for this model to support the Windows 10 operating system. The Windows 7 drivers should function in the Windows 10 environment with some limitations which are currently unknown to Canon.....Any Ideas?
Thank you for this video. It really helped alot. Everything went smooth until the end. Im trying to connect through USB. First is says printer detected. Wait until the installation is complete. Then after a while it says printer not detected. I end up having to turn the power on the printer off then on again. Then it will go back to saying printer detected. Wait until installation is complete. It seems to be stuck in a loop. Any advice?

thanks for the video, i got stuck on that very last step, the installation program asks to connect and switch on the printer, I do so, hear the "bleap" from my Lenovo laptop and then...the installation program tells me it cannot detect the printer, any advice please?

Hey, md. it was awhile ago since you have posted this, but im trying to install the driver, and about 15 minutes in, it says printer not detected, so i turn it off, and turn it back, and then it detects it again, and about 5 minutes in, it shows the same message, and never ends up installing.

Hi, I am having issues when it comes to detecting my printer. All is plugged in correctly and printer is on and it will detect the printer but then within 5 minutes it will change to say no printer is detected and to check connections

@@lhynchan8699 i solved it. While it says that printer cannot be detected, go to settings > devices > printers and scanners
After that , click on canon mg2500 and remove device.
Then the printer will once installed back automatically. And you may be able to proceed the next step.

try all of these. Turn off any antivirus installed. Update ur PC. Uninstall any previous printer drivers.

hi, i have a problem, i installed the drivers of windows 7 on windows 10 (Cause there aren't for w10) and I can only scan, i have no the option to print (sorry for bad englids)

Maybe the driver you downloaded is not compatible with the OS (operating system).

Should I use the disk that came with Canon pixma mg2522 printer? When I did it like you say it ended up saying no drivers were not installed. Yet on my Windows 7 older computer it worked. But I want it to go on my Windows 10 computer I just got.
I do everything it shows, then on step 3 it asks to connect my printer to the computer so I do that. It detects the printer and says “the printer is detected. Please wait until installation is completed” and it just stays there. It doesn’t do anything, I left for half an hour and still stuck in the same screen
My printer says that it's connected on step 3 and that the installation is finishing, then it says that it's not connected, even though it's still on and plugged in. Any advice or help please? Thanks in advance and have a golden day!
If you have to disc player you should included with the disc setup

Hello, it keeps asking me to check if the printer is connected. I do then it connected after a little bit it tells me to check over and over again. I’m this close of giving up😩

I'm trying to install my Canon printer, I got all the way to the last step, while I was waiting for completion it said completion was incomplete and went through the connection
except mine failed at the last step. it connects to the printer and loads. printer makes noise. printer cannot be detected lol
I could not get either driver set up to complete, I suggest removing as many usb connected devices to help connection.

I have problem with mg2500 series. It cant print my page number and some footnote. And when i print some picture the botom area wont print more than half inch either. Any sugestion how to fix it..
When I run the setup, it says "failed to acquire information on the driver and software. Check network connection and try again"
I have downloaded the software from official cannon website as well as some other sites and they all say the same. I have tried running the setup on clean boot, tried your tutorial on Fix error please check your Network Connection in Win10, tried using a completely different internet connection, manually tried changing dns, disabled firewall, reset my router, uninstalled my antivirus, contact Nasa, jumped from a building, flew at the speed of light in the vacuum of space and the error still persists....please help!

PIXMA MP250 has been retired, what do i for drivers?
I get to the point where I downloaded the driver for downloaded and download the driver and when it's downloaded I go there and I click the folder open folder and it pulls up a little man this is for security and performance performance Windows 10 is in s mode runs Microsoft verified apps to get this app you'll need to switch out of s mode what do I do because it tells me it's not safe to switch out of s mode

When installing make sure there isnt a "dead" driver on control panel. Simply go to control -> drivers and devices -> remove.
This is so you can get a clean install. Otherwise drivers may fail over and over.
