    Fun fact: Tony Todd (The Candyman, 1992) negotiated a bonus of $1,000 for every bee sting he suffered during filming; he was stung 23 times.

    • @mythoughtsindividual9463

      Yes that’s exactly how he died, the smashed the honey comb and smeared it on his body, when the bees came they stung him, and then they burned his body, that’s literally what purcell said in Candyman 1992!!!!

    • @azraelbrown9889
      @azraelbrown9889 2 года назад +4

      Both are correct but it’s more feasible to die by fire. Let me explain…yes bees stung him, and part mention of his death was he was stung to death ultimately while also bleeding out. It was lastly said he was burned on a pyre wheel later his ashes weee scattered around The place of his death which became Cabrini Green (hence why he haunts the area).
      Now, when you view this in the eyes of the viewers, being stung by a bunch of bees doesn’t have a real conveyor of endgame pain for s vengeful spirit. Yes you can be killed by bee stings with enough of them stinging you regardless of not being allergic, but that death weight doesn’t carry. Not brutal enough for how blacks and slaves were killed then. So they added in totality him being burned to death after the sawing, hook stump, and bee stings.

    Why would Candyman kill black people? I would think he'd focus on white?? Just curious. Never watched any movies in this franchise. Horror movies seem kinda dumb to me as a rule...

    • @agenttheater5
      @agenttheater5 3 года назад +42

      he kills those who call on him. Because when they call on him they're doing it to show he's not real or for a laugh or to show that they're brave. They're invoking his suffering for selfish reasons and are therefore laughing at him or saying that it never really happened, so he must kill them because of that. Other times he kills black people is to frame his intended victim so that they'll have no one else to turn to but him.

      Also I don't know what the other guy told you, but with this new movie I think it implies that black people are like Candyman's cattle that he uses to keep his legend going. People who were wrongfully killed, possibly framed by Candyman himself after they saybhis name. He does it to white people too. Race doesn't matter to him anymore. And one more thing, horror movies aren't dumb, they are just easiy copied off each other but there are some good ones out there.
