Thank you, thank you for having the courage to voice the TRUTH. It sad to see how Christianity has been bastardized. I don't have the courage to try to convert anyone to Christianity, these days I wait for people to ask me about my faith through my actions. My focus is God, I don't have any denomination. All the so called pastors are making huge sums of money on the back of their congregations, and it's ☹☹. I can't believe what the USA has turned into through the so-called evangelicals.
By the way, it's a great book! He simply presented complicated issues, which made it very easy to read. The pertinent examples were relatable. The only issue is that people who need to read it will probably never go near it. Especially now that reading has been deemed to be a SIN in many parts of America.
I am not an evangelical but I’d guess most people would detect that particular kinds of Christian that claim a higher moral ground do so as a means to condemn those that see it differently than they do. Of course this is what Christians have been doing for centuries. But particularly grievous is this interview consists of two interlocutors that portray themselves as learned but appear to lack much self awareness. They’ve constructed an unbridgeable moral binary. The one side includes those that are Trump followers and angry with the bloated bureaucratic and secular state and the other side consists of those that are level headed self (but self referential) Christians that believe their interpretation of the “gospel” is far superior. The latter never suggests that their side might come replete with a subjective and biased conclusions. They feel their judgments are well informed and their opposition is obviously anti-intellectual. They agree that Trump is loathsome but fail to mention that the Democrat alternative is equally loathsome if not far worse. Setting up such a strict binary only portends further division. Those with similar subjective biases will hate Trump more and will now find more justification to resent (and hate) evangelical Christians. Because they leave us with only an either or binary, conservative Christians will deem thee two to be moralizing know it alls. Of course my comments will likely have absolutely no bearing on their conclusions and they will probably just say I misunderstood them. So I can only hope that those that conduct these kinds of polemical interviews leave the audience with two very bad choices.
