Adam's dad was a DJ in college and so had a massive record collection - lots of rock and his dad hated Queen. Adam's mom records were Bob Marley, Al Green, r&b, etc. so he's comfortable w/every genre. This song AND ALL OF VELVET is a tribute to his parents and the 70's/80's. Adamm does an incredible "IS THIS LOVE" by Bob Marley.
The whole set from this performance was great. He covered so many different types of music and of course that allows us to listen to so many different colors of his voice. He sang my favorite version of his song Whataya Want from Me and I believe Another One Bites the Dust.
From the same set, please give a listen to "New Eyes". These are songs from his CD release "Velvet". Just as it was ready to launch the pandemic hit and his promo went down the sink. Crushed to hear a few months later that he was supposed to tour that upcoming summer with Christina Agularia, someone he's said for years he'd like to perform with. Another vocal masterpiece in my mind is a cover he did of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Games". He performed it live several times but his first time is IMO from the Morongo Resort.
