It's incredible how many you have. It make me feel more normal. I have so many and it's difficult to move around in some of my rooms in the house because of guitars everywhere. But i love them and i feel like i want them all. I take in guitars like some people take in cats lol.

Another stellar video mate. Just unadulterated guitar geekery in its purest form. You've trimmed the collection down in terms of overall volume, but made some absolutely stunning additions. My favourite random spooky moment is at 121:18 - you say "I baritoned it, so it's in B Standard" and pick the strings, ending on the Low B. A second later, the sound of the building work drilling kicks in again at the exact same pitch of that B string.

You say haunted but memories fade and the lessons we learn from the experiences we have build the character of who we are as people. Don't discard the lessons you learn through life, the guitar might go but the memories will remain. Bad, good, they are part of the fabric of life and the experiences we all have to go through. Keep the guitars, play them and love them.
Hi Dave! I don't have a huge guitar collection but my Harley benton T-style is my favorite! It has a maple fretboard and vintage white finish. I changed the tuners for Wilkinson vintage style and I'm going to put a Seymour duncan broadcaster in the bridge and a tonerider hot classic in the neck. I'm also planning on a nitro refinish in a color called desert sand! Thanks for showing your collection!

I hope you have had as good a year as you can have and an even better one. If I may ask, do you have any advice on refinishing the head stock of a jaguar? I sold a Flying V that was ‘haunted’ to me, i was left still with the bad memories, and now without the guitar! It resurfaced eventually and i was able to get it back. After 8 years!!
You should keep the guitars, Dave. If you need money or don't like them, that's one thing. But if it involves bad memories (and I know what you're referring to), time will heal those wounds. Put 'em away for a couple of years, get some of your others out, and let time do the rest. Trust me, I've been where you are, and I promise you brother one day you're gonna wake up and those memories won't sting anymore. Love ya man, have a happy New Year!

Awe man. I sold a Takamine en 10 I had for years. It was a real workhorse, refretted twice and lord knows how much work done on it over the years. My no 1 acoustic. Sold it cos my 2nd wife bought it for my birthday. I was a fool. I wish I had kept it. Fek the memories, that was a great guitar 😂😭
Ginger and honey with tea usually makes my cough phases end a bit faster. Nice guitar collection. Ive got a affinity series strat but one day i want to buy the white falcon
Dave you are worthy of owning and playing ANY guitar. You are an inspiration to those of us that will never be as good as you but you give us a level to reach for. The way you play is above and beyond most people on the planet so stop thinking you're not worthy. There's alot of people that absolutely love you and that makes you worthy.
I have a Tokai Goldstar strat from 1984. White. Got it for my 21st (sadly...... I'm old..... but young at heart😁). I've played numerous 'actual' Fender strats over the years and still think this is better. Awesome guitar.
PGM 100 "Everything's original. Except I took the logo, off. And changed the pots. And added a coil tap. And that’s Master Volume. And that one now does nothing, And I changed the tuners, and its got the tiny switch knob. And I got matching knobs. But its all original.” lol I bought my PGM 100 on your recommendation and love it - just sanded the neck a bit and matched the pots. I play in an FM tribute and do all Petes stuff, and I get so many compliments on my sound. It was hard finding the original LP shape.
If you watch the 1980's band Tears for Fears video, "Shout" I always though one of them was playing a Fender Strat, but if you look closely, it is a Tokai. Fender wasn't making that many 'vintage' spec guitars back in the late 1970's and early 1980's I don't think, I could be wrong.

Very happy the Epiphone Adam Jones LP is a keeper despite the haunting!! I bought one of those after i saw your demo last year. I hope it can be Exorcised so you can enjoy it again.
I used to own loads of guitars. Best day was when I decided to sell many of them. The materialism of owning guitars and storing them in cases for years and never being used holds us back on many levels. We always try to justify owning many guitars, but ultimately I advise to sell, sell, sell and get over the ego noise! :-)
Nice to see you're a fellow Watkins Rapier owner! I've owned a Rapier 33 model since I was 13, bought from Dave Mann Music in 1984 for about £50. It was always considered a 'poor man's Strat'. Sounds great. Still love it. :-)
Dave - you’re too hard on yourself. You ARE “worthy” of each and every one of those guitars. And a thousand more. You deserve them. As they you. The joy you bring w/ this channel and your passion for guitars makes you more than worthy. I’m a manic depressive guitarist, sometimes I need to turn the world off and vanish in to my guitar shows. Yours is an immediate “go to”. I always feel better when I do. Lastly, every time I meet a “Strat Man” I think of you, like “yep, here’s another Dave Simpson”. You Strat guys are a tribe in its own right- and I mean that in the Best possible way. I love Strats. But I’m an SG guy. I‘ve never met an SG that didn’t make me smile. Best advice I can give you - When it comes to “great” guitars, it’s not the guitarist that finds the guitar, it’s the guitar that finds its player. They found You, man. They deserved You. Put that negative stuff in your head away, I’ll try to do the same. A pact I suppose. We are guitarists, guitarists are artists, and there is a reason they call us “suffering artists”. I have a Tokai Goldstar strat from 1984. White. Got it for my 21st (sadly...... I'm old..... but young at heart😁). I've played numerous 'actual' Fender strats over the years and still think this is better. Awesome guitar.

PGM 100 "Everything's original. Except I took the logo, off. And changed the pots. And added a coil tap. And that’s Master Volume. And that one now does nothing, And I changed the tuners, and its got the tiny switch knob. And I got matching knobs. But its all original.” lol
I bought my PGM 100 on your recommendation and love it - just sanded the neck a bit and matched the pots.
I play in an FM tribute and do all Petes stuff, and I get so many compliments on my sound. It was hard finding the original LP shape.
If you watch the 1980's band Tears for Fears video, "Shout" I always though one of them was playing a Fender Strat, but if you look closely, it is a Tokai. Fender wasn't making that many 'vintage' spec guitars back in the late 1970's and early 1980's I don't think, I could be wrong.

8:30 yup that body is indeed Classic Vibe, I've seen many relic CVs, they all had that thin darker "veneer" on top of basswood

I used to own loads of guitars. Best day was when I decided to sell many of them. The materialism of owning guitars and storing them in cases for years and never being used holds us back on many levels. We always try to justify owning many guitars, but ultimately I advise to sell, sell, sell and get over the ego noise! :-)

Nice to see you're a fellow Watkins Rapier owner! I've owned a Rapier 33 model since I was 13, bought from Dave Mann Music in 1984 for about £50. It was always considered a 'poor man's Strat'. Sounds great. Still love it. :-)
By the way, have you ever owned or played one of the old Westbury guitars? What do you think of them?
Dave - you’re too hard on yourself. You ARE “worthy” of each and every one of those guitars. And a thousand more. You deserve them. As they you. The joy you bring w/ this channel and your passion for guitars makes you more than worthy. I’m a manic depressive guitarist, sometimes I need to turn the world off and vanish in to my guitar shows. Yours is an immediate “go to”. I always feel better when I do. Lastly, every time I meet a “Strat Man” I think of you, like “yep, here’s another Dave Simpson”. You Strat guys are a tribe in its own right- and I mean that in the Best possible way. I love Strats. But I’m an SG guy. I‘ve never met an SG that didn’t make me smile. Best advice I can give you - When it comes to “great” guitars, it’s not the guitarist that finds the guitar, it’s the guitar that finds its player. They found You, man. They deserved You. Put that negative stuff in your head away, I’ll try to do the same. A pact I suppose. We are guitarists, guitarists are artists, and there is a reason they call us “suffering artists”.
