Back to the Farm - Senior Thesis Film!

Aaron, a young man living in the 21st Century, buys a time machine and travels back in time to 1890s rural Wisconsin, where he meets Cynthia, a farm-girl who seems like a friend at first.
This is my senior thesis film! Unlike all other classes in film school where I would get maybe only a few days, a few weeks, or a whole semester at most to work on film projects, this is the ONE film where I was given a FULL YEAR to make it, through the whole Fall Semester of 2022 and Spring Semester of 2023 when I graduated!
This film was shot in one of my barns on my farm as well as at the Satterlee Clark House, both in Horicon, WI.
The Satterlee Clark House Museum is only five minutes from my house. It was built in the 1850s and was lived in until roughly 1970, when it was turned into a museum. According to multiple employee accounts, the house is haunted. Check out their Facebook page here →

I was inspired to make a silent, sepia film set in old-time rural Wisconsin because of two major things:
1. Watching A LOT of old black and white movies (some silent) during my first year at film school.
2. Moving out to rural Wisconsin my first year of film school, and learning about and seeing the history.
For me, the first semester of working on this film (Senior I) was dedicated to pre-production: writing a screenplay, finding actors, setting up locations, costume design, presenting a Production Packet in class to show my progress and future plans, and doing script readings in class.
In the second semester (Senior II), I did MORE pre-production, plus all of production (actually shooting the film), and post-production (editing everything).
