  • This beginner tutorial covers simple fundamentals of Grasshopper for Rhino to create parametric louvers / fins for a facade. It develops a parametric relationship between a curve in Rhino and the depth of the louver / fin.

    Brilliant … Thanks.
I have two questions, if I may. If I have multiple curves, will it work? Also if I wanted to make it movement of points more exaggerated… lesser if they are farther away and more if they are closer…in a less linear fashion, can I add a graph mapper, after the distance has been remapped?

Hey awesome video. I was able to follow along all the way to the end and create the same parametric form. I have a question for you. What if instead of using a curve to influence the Louvre depth I used a series of circles or circular surfaces? I tried to do it myself with the same procedure. I replaced the curve with a surface and selected multiple surface points. However, my shape never ends up looking right. I want to create a parametric wave pattern where the size of the circle pushes and pulls the louvres to different heights. Thanks!

This sounds doable. If you post your file and questions to the grasshopper3d.com forum and send me a link, I can try to solve it for you.
