I am normally not a commenter type of guy, but I have to say: Your story and honesty is truly inspiring. I've been following you from the beginnings and after the first video of yours, I got into a point if a new video drops, I forget everything in my life and I watch it. I've got a Junior role 9 months ago and I have been learning consistently every day. Being a dev I'd absolutely the coolest thing!
Congratulations on your progress! Pleas continue making these types of videos because you greatly motivate those of us who are starting out in the world of programming. A greeting from Spain!!
Super inspirational Jacob! I've been a designer for the last 12 years and have been dabbling in development for the last two-ish years. This year I'm going to dive in further with Development. Thanks for the awesome content. Keep it flowing.
Dude, your story really does inspiring me. Im also working in the marketing field and always wondering about programming. Trying to get started about it. And found your video. Thanks for sharing your story.
not a software engineer degree also myself - just political science - always learning - starting from faculty as a system engineer - video editor - system tester - and now a full stack web engineer. The secret is to be open to learn. As always - you rock buddy!
Anytime I feel overwhelmed after crushing the day hard, I come online to watch your videos and trust me, I get elevatad and I feel like you are beside me. I must confess, you are touching life with what you are doing, and I hope one day I also replicate such as well. ...Thanks man
really enjoyed hearing your story and the advice you shared. i’m in a similar position, currently trying to switch from marketing to a developer job. your vids inspire me to keep learning and keep pursuing my goal. wishing you all the best in 2024!
I've been wanting to be a programmer since I was a kid and currently majoring in IT. But going to start and commit to learning web development. Watching your videos really makes me want to commit to learning this and have an amazing job. Thank you for sharing your story!
Leaving my dream friend. Getting my CS degree starting late as well, also doing a boot camp with tech with Tim. Cant wait to join the field. Happy New Year!!!
Really enjoy watching your content. Appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos. Best parts for me is sharing your success and struggles, no filter. More power to you and success in your career.
Hey Jacob. your story is truly inspiring. I work in tech, specifically cybersecurity, and in the past couple of years I've been trying to get better in some programming languages for automation etc. Unfortunately programming isn't my forte, but I think I'm getting there and these videos surely help! All the best for the new year! 😊
I just found your channel and I loved it, I'm still looking for my first job and my dream is to live in NYC, this video motivated me even more, thank you!
bro i saw the fun you had with your coworkers and i said i want this ok i want this feeling these friends and i'm gonna start this developer journy wish me luck
Love the video man its always been a dream of mine to work in NYC, I just passed my Honours degree in Data Science and Analytics, and your videos just make me so excited for what's out there and what's to come in the future! And your whole monologue completely resonated with me, even though I just finished my degree I still feel like I'm at a severely junior level, I really have to start building projects and pushing them. 😅
I can relate, quit sales and did a bootcamp after trying to learn myself for years. the bootcamp taught me how to learn new tech, read docs, etc. paid by gov. so its worth, dont ever pay for a bootcamp yourself guys. Also got rly lucky getting a job in a startup as fullstack dev. Learned PERN in the bootcamp and i convinced the founders i can learn angular within a month. gonna start february and im excited. 3/4 months from nothing to job is possible if you really want it!
Good advice, Jacob. Thank you for sharing how you landed yourself in a software developer/engineer role. Like this vlog..Happy New Year. All the best in 2024.
I'm absolutely inspired by your videos. I'm still dictating whether I want to get into HelpDesk or Software engineering I love both aspects of hopefully one day I'll join on the same track. What inspires me is your motivation and how you show case your progress. Keep up the good videos. Jayden.
Jacob. Happy New Year mate. This video was a blast. Such a vibe and such energy! It is so amazing seeing you be part of this company that is learning and being successful. Your videos are like a breath of fresh air. It's so nice to see honest content like this. Thank you for sharing your journey so far and leaving absolute banger tips for the upcoming generation of engineers! Jacob; You are an inspiration. You're my inspiration. I heavily related to your story of trying coding for a bit and then stopping. I feel that in my soul. I am on my 3rd cycle with the willpower to really make it my absolute life mission to get hired in the spring. I'm only on the front end right now but I dream of knowing full stack. I want to keep developing my skillset and be a valuable team member to someone. Here's to 2024 mate. May you and everyone else achieve their dreams. Let's get it! 💪💻📱
good luck brother! dont wait with applying, keep applying when ur decompressing from coding. itll boost your motivation going through the job opportunities and youll be back at coding at no time. also, convey your learning ability and a "Can do" mentality in interviews. I had to realize they hire a junior so i shouldnt expect myself to know everything, if you dont know in the interviews ask them to explain and repeat their explanation in your own words. this got me hired whilst 1.5monts into my 3months bootcamp
@@tdkentertainment-v9wThank you for the advice mate! Embarrassingly I am over a year into learning coding and I never thought I was ready. Maybe I am ready for a junior job. I will absolutely follow this advice. This week I’ll work on my resume and portfolio and get applying! Thanks again 😬
Happy New Year! Whenever you post a video I am more inspired in learning to code. However I have a question, what does your startup application does? I did not understand so well from videos.
Hello, I love your videos, they are so inspiring to me. I have a question, you said you were sending out 50 applications a day, where do you find so many remote job offers?
Great advice like always, people be looking at me funny when I say I rather be the dumbest person in the room than to be the expert...... I think you should start doing resume website reviews and based on what you see would you hire the person..... just a suggestion, happy new year!
I would love to be able to code, but everytime I start to try I just feel like I have a veeeery steep learning curve. It always makes me non motivated to keep going, its maybe silly but I really dont know how I should tackle that haha. Any tips? :D
Its called the Moonlander by ZSA. Its an ergonomic split keyboard! Currently writing this on the Dygma Defy, if youre coding a lot and have any kind of motivation to do this for a long time I can recommend any more ergonomic option than a normal keyboard!
Dude, how many "like" you can say in one phrase? lmao... but nice video and nice story, very inspiring. Your videos always motivates me to study and learn!
i am working on software development now building my own projects but i am 34 years old and i fear it may be late to find a job in the industry.@@JacobSucksAtCode

What I need to do ... As i am inspired from You and also doing well and I have learnt very things from you . Now I am always fear when working on that.
But the elephant in the room is how you got a visa without a degree? That's usually a requirement or did I miss that part? Also I wonder if as an aspiring jr developer from the US would it be a good idea to apply to places outside the US? I also don't have a degree
I really enjoy your content! This is what I want for myself in the future a great positive environment and fun hardworking colleagues, to me this is more important than the money you make(to an extent). My day to day work weeks have to be atleast half as fun as your vlogs, otherwise I’m just miserable no matter how much I’m earning. Love working with a team who are around my age, really old people bore me no effence to the olden goldies 🫣
