That was one of the first things I wish I would've done when I got my Z....it took me 6 years to do the shifter. I did the clutch, flywheel and shifter. Best results ever😊

drove my cousins evo 8 that had a 5 strenghted transmition, and we where looking for a shortshift option, and I think there are, they still look oem outside, but the movement on the shifter is around 25% shorter, you might like that option, its not as short as the this one you installed but on the 5speed it was shorter than oem

Fyi, the center console top piece is still available brand new for like 60 bucks that's pretty cheap ! Got the information from my local dealer here in France
It's discontinued in the US but I found it in japan!! So might get it! Also different for me since the car is RHD
@@ChrisGoorbarry yeah true i forgot about the RHD, but they still can provide RHD parts even if we are a LHD country
You can lower the shifter by 25mm just by taking out the red logo that sits under the shift knob, but.. It gets harder to shift cause as you said it's so.. Short.

That shifter looks to be very similar to the B&M shifter in my S13 240SX in terms of shifter feel and throws.
My B&M worries me sometimes when I'm downshifting. I worry I will money-shift it.

I’m almost sold on one now that shifter looks sick! How is it going into reverse? Is it awkward with the lever/plunger being higher than stock?
Not akward at all at least for me since I have big hands! I also learned you could remove the red collar in the middle and it makes it about a inch shorter closer to the reverse lever
I want one still after 20 years, just sucks most are high milage and still going for $30k and up for a decent one.

I need help with a wheel and tire setup for my 9 MR. I don’t want to roll fenders and I’m looking for a fitment similar to what you have. Also what cat and Dp are you running with the Tomei?
I have a specific video here explaining my entire fitment and how to do it I have it straight pipe all the way but that will change soon when I build the engine!

What are the wheel and tire specs on this bad boy?
Shepherd Trans recommended no short shifter as it wears the trans.. but curious with this as its a whole housing and not just your traditional short shifter.. Any idea if this would wear the trans? Also how short can you shorten the shifter?
I have no idea but I'll definitely keep that in mind to see if It causes any issues
You are correct it will wear out the trans and destroy the syncros,best to stick with the factory mitsubishi shifter

What's with the janky zip ties holding the cable to the base? Cool product tho
It clicks on perfectly and you don't. need the zip ties at all they just put it in the manual im guessing as a double safe but it clicks on exactly how oem does

I removed the red collar and it made it about an inch shorter
I also chucked the shift knob into a drill and spun it on scotch bright, it gave it a brushed finish, the chrome was too bright for my Oem+ interior
Yes!! I learned that after I had made the video but removed it right away to see if I can get the best of both worlds lol its still a little higher but better
@@ChrisGoorbarry definitely better, super easy to install and very rewarding! WK definitely knew what they were doing when they came out with this. I still have OEM bushings in mine, I wonder how much of a difference it would make it once I replace them with torque’s bushings 🤔
It would have been nice if the shifter would look OEM.
This increases ur chance of money shifting it and over rev ing your engine
You need to measure higher because the pivot point changed
