My issue with the judging on the twins since 2019 (and arguably since 2017) is that they insisted on the significantly higher difficulty given to Dina (regardless of the actual realization of it) and the meager 0.10 higher execution given to Arina in practically every comparable performance for the last few years... My sense is that this must have had an stressful and oppressive effect on Arina, who must have been aware that she had to perform a clean and solid routine 100% of the time and yet only expect to win if Dina had any omitted difficulty from an execution that kept getting sloppier and sloppier... I bet she would have competed more successful within a saner and fairer context had this not been the dynamic during the whole Olympic cycle.
Completely agree - it's stressful having to compete knowing you need a near-perfect execution to be competitive. However, I think that Dina's mental stability plays a major part in the choreography of their routines. Arina is usually more nervous and makes more execution mistakes (generally speaking, not always) and this would mean that her routines are choreographically easier in order to make her less nervous. I guess it's all about perspective??
@@rhythmicgymnastics.mp4782 Yeah, Dina is more stable and concentrates better, and if she makes a mistake, she overcomes it, while Arina breaks down more easily. Anyway, I feel that Arina deserved more note than received on many occasions.
I disagree I think They both are really that good .They have training under the best coaches and family anyone could ask for .In a country that loves and appreciates their talent and lifetime commitment. i think the judges were correct to recognize the high standard of difficulty , grace and routine down to every catch and throw. The twins are near mirror image . of each other well trained . I dont have a problem with past scoring . They are the headliners of the show still.
Not a fan of RG but I was rooting for Arina in Tokyo. The moment she popped her ribbon routine, I completely didn't care about the competition. I like Dina and Linoy but Arina is my favorite. She has what it takes to win it all but she's so inconsistent. I hope she fixes it in 2024 which is not too far ahead.
