I understand the sentimental expression. I think we are in fact like Jim in that we all have sufferings we can relate to. But he isn't us. That's a strange and untrue thing to say. Jim is certainly a wonderful human being but the same can't be said for everyone so that is obvious. I think what Jim is doing is employing a sort of Buddhist philosophy to escape from himself. We have to be careful though. I think his healing process is natural because he wants to deidentify with the false self he created in Hollywood. But the philosophy he is adopting is just a cope. So think about that. Obviously, he isn't us because if he were, we would know what its like to play Andy Kaufman and we don't.
He always makes me feel seen, without ever meeting him. My family and friends are well meaning but, they make me feel like I'm, idk...not right, not well, different in a bad way. When we talk, I can see the walls they put up. When I finally was brave enough to show them my art, I paint and write. My mom cried and said, "Where did I go wrong with you?" My dad had this look of sadness and fear. My sister rolled her eyes, my husband doesnt get it. He says, "where is all this pain coming from? Are you not happy with me?". I try to explain that what I create has nothing to do with them, it just what's in me, what's always been in me. I'm bipolar, and I fought with my mind for so long, I thought about suicide, had a plan, letters already written. I drove to the beach one last time, to watch the waves. It was there, then, that I figured it out. I was scared and depressed and anxious because I was hiding who I was. I imprisoned my soul, the real me, because I feared what others thought. I wanted to be normal. Why would you want to be normal? Be extraordinary, be weird, embrace what makes you strange to others. Use what talents you have to help people. Be kind, be selfless. Love your madness! Stop hiding, just live. That was 8 years ago, I do still have issues with my bipolar disorder. I am in therapy, on meds, for now. There is lots of work to be done, but for the first time in my entire life, I'm not scared of myself! Those close to me are coming around, but until they can really see me, I rely on people like Jim Carrey to know I'm not alone.

So happy for you. I’m bipolar as well and I have had/am having the same experiences with family/friends/coworkers and colleagues. Keep pursuing your passions no matter what people say as long as it makes you feel good and happy. That very thing helps tremendously with bipolar disorder- doing that which brings us joy. I went undiagnosed from about 10 yrs old to 28 before finding I am bipolar. It’s a massive struggle but you said it- be unique, embrace our differences, and most importantly- always love ourselves through it all.

The loss of something that took a piece of your heart, will awaken many and it did me many moons ago with the loss of my grandfather, and illness and passing of my mother. Look or feel the for the signs that they give you or other parts of you. They're real. Remember that vibrational wave of energy. Do what really makes you happy and allow that feeling, wave of excitement , pull you in. That could be our world, if we all came together . Hugging, helping, loving, laughing, smiling and just being in that present moment of time....WOWZER!!! Those actions could save the world, raise the vibration. I can't really describe it, it's just pure happiness and Awesomeness!! No judgements, no worries, just peace. As Jim Carey mentioned something... . It's hard to describe to and convince people. It's truly amazing! Gravitate towards the positive always, remember that! I'm rabbling now and gonna conclude with this......: You all are beautiful. Each and everyone of you. Hi all. Hope your all safe and your families are ok. I'm 24 years old living with my parents in the UK. I was both ignorant and innocent until I awoke or at least think I am. I've let go completely of any desire until I found myself crying because I didn't know what I truly wanted. I no longer feel the need for status, money, nice car or a big house. We are all selfish when we try to help others in order to make ourselves feel better. We need sadness in order know when we are happy, they go together. Are bad things bad because they are, or because we think they are? Take care all.
I think things are bad maybe because they are supposed to exist in contrast to the good. But even when I type this I feel kind of sad knowing about the sad while hoping to be happy.

I am 24 too living with my family and nothing seems to make sense now. I lost my desire in all material things also personal desire. I think as we wake up its difficult to feel normal.again and feels isolating.

I understand the sentimental expression. I think we are in fact like Jim in that we all have sufferings we can relate to. But he isn't us. That's a strange and untrue thing to say. Jim is certainly a wonderful human being but the same can't be said for everyone so that is obvious. I think what Jim is doing is employing a sort of Buddhist philosophy to escape from himself. We have to be careful though. I think his healing process is natural because he wants to deidentify with the false self he created in Hollywood. But the philosophy he is adopting is just a cope. So think about that. Obviously, he isn't us because if he were, we would know what its like to play Andy Kaufman and we don't.
He always makes me feel seen, without ever meeting him. My family and friends are well meaning but, they make me feel like I'm, idk...not right, not well, different in a bad way. When we talk, I can see the walls they put up. When I finally was brave enough to show them my art, I paint and write. My mom cried and said, "Where did I go wrong with you?" My dad had this look of sadness and fear. My sister rolled her eyes, my husband doesnt get it. He says, "where is all this pain coming from? Are you not happy with me?". I try to explain that what I create has nothing to do with them, it just what's in me, what's always been in me. I'm bipolar, and I fought with my mind for so long, I thought about suicide, had a plan, letters already written. I drove to the beach one last time, to watch the waves. It was there, then, that I figured it out. I was scared and depressed and anxious because I was hiding who I was. I imprisoned my soul, the real me, because I feared what others thought. I wanted to be normal. Why would you want to be normal? Be extraordinary, be weird, embrace what makes you strange to others. Use what talents you have to help people. Be kind, be selfless. Love your madness! Stop hiding, just live.
That was 8 years ago, I do still have issues with my bipolar disorder. I am in therapy, on meds, for now. There is lots of work to be done, but for the first time in my entire life, I'm not scared of myself! Those close to me are coming around, but until they can really see me, I rely on people like Jim Carrey to know I'm not alone.

So happy for you. I’m bipolar as well and I have had/am having the same experiences with family/friends/coworkers and colleagues. Keep pursuing your passions no matter what people say as long as it makes you feel good and happy. That very thing helps tremendously with bipolar disorder- doing that which brings us joy. I went undiagnosed from about 10 yrs old to 28 before finding I am bipolar. It’s a massive struggle but you said it- be unique, embrace our differences, and most importantly- always love ourselves through it all.

Look or feel the for the signs that they give you or other parts of you. They're real. Remember that vibrational wave of energy. Do what really makes you happy and allow that feeling, wave of excitement , pull you in. That could be our world, if we all came together . Hugging, helping, loving, laughing, smiling and just being in that present moment of time....WOWZER!!! Those actions could save the world, raise the vibration.

Hi all. Hope your all safe and your families are ok. I'm 24 years old living with my parents in the UK. I was both ignorant and innocent until I awoke or at least think I am. I've let go completely of any desire until I found myself crying because I didn't know what I truly wanted. I no longer feel the need for status, money, nice car or a big house. We are all selfish when we try to help others in order to make ourselves feel better. We need sadness in order know when we are happy, they go together. Are bad things bad because they are, or because we think they are?

I think things are bad maybe because they are supposed to exist in contrast to the good. But even when I type this I feel kind of sad knowing about the sad while hoping to be happy.

I am 24 too living with my family and nothing seems to make sense now. I lost my desire in all material things also personal desire. I think as we wake up its difficult to feel normal.again and feels isolating.

I can't believe he articulated so many things about me that I didn't realize were things, like he gave them voice and I feel acknowledged by that. I'm so glad I clicked on this. I recently saw him on Bill Mahar and he was amazingly personable and maybe he needs his own show because he just could not stop talkin he was so excited even though he had watched real time since the beginning like many of us. you just can't help but like this guy. I hope he is doing well. No more than that, I hope he is happy and fulfilled. it's a hard thing to be 60 years old and look around and wonder what you have done with your life and it can seem that way when you invest in the people who are in front of you and then they scatter and live their own lives. but that is still a life well-lived.
