This kind of tone coming out of a Squier is something I never would've expected.. this is awesome!! One of the like "growliest" sounds I've ever heard come out of a p bass. Like the good guy vid, it sounds like a Dingwall lol
Thanks! It doesn't really matter what the brand of instrument is in the grand scheme of things. I got that bass for 100 dollars as a B stock and only put like 180 dollars worth of parts into it and it's my favorite bass. Also, fun thing about the "Dingwall" sound.. their pickups are narrower p bass pickups lol, that's probably why they can sound similar. The signal chain and processing is much more important than the brand of instrument. A 60 dollar Glarry will sound almost identical to a 4000 dollar custom shop guitar when played through the same amp/cab
@@yeet-or1cr nah they aren't garbage, they just aren't fantastic out of the box most of the time and need a little work. I did a lot of work to this one (stainless steel frets, refinished neck, pickups, bridge etc..) but only for personal preference. It was totally fine right out of the box and it sounds maybe 5% different than it did out of the box. As much as I love the higher end stuff, this is my go to bass and same goes for my Squier tele and strat, they're my "go to" for a Tele and strat
Effective and natural baseline. Groovy doesn't have to be overly complex. Wonderful composition.

@@jhmusic1 explains a lot about the dingwall part lol. I guess I've always just thought of squier as cheap garbage
