From what I can see in 10 seconds : 1. Pro quality video 2. Pro quality sound 3. Awesome storytelling 4. Awesome Thumbnails 5. Awesome Title And then the video as high value sharing so ... 100k subs are near.
I just took a break in the middle of an unboxing video and I came across your video. Exactly what I needed to watch right now. Great content let's get you to 5K.
Man this video has inspired me so much. I only have 140 subscribers, and I got my first collab for some lighting equipment not too long ago. But I kinda delivered the videos late, I'm pretty sure they won't want to work with me again. And then I haven't even tried to get anything else since. This amazing video has given me the push I need to start creating again and put some real work in! Thanks you! new subscriber here for sure. (Please keep doing what you're doing, I can see you being huge on socials in the near future)
Thank you for the great tips!! I’ve collaborated with many companies but want to move towards more film equipment to help push my video creativity to start my own business so this is very helpful!!
I assumed the premise of the video would be exactly this but had to stop by to say how much I love your thumnbnail. Great advice here in the video too!
First time on the channel, loved the video. Always a fun take away watching small creator who are ahead of me in the game and seeing where I need to level up too.
Something that happens to me quite lot is that I am already in contact with a supplier about a question that I have. And then after a few mails back and forward I mention that I have a RUclips channel and their product(-line) or whatever they sell is something my viewers are generally interested in. I than mention that we might collaborate on a project I am working on. This usually works for me getting the things I was about to order for free in exchange for mentioning where I got the from and what more they offer.
I've been able to get free wheels for my Focus ST in exchange for a few product showcasing edits, and I was already interested in buying them anyway, so that worked out! haha I've also gotten big discounts on other car parts in exchange for reviews or content, so while I've not had much experience with doing this for camera gear, I highly recommend reaching out to places and businesses you ACTUALLY want to work with and products you actually want to use! Good stuff man!
I feel the same way man! I’m actually starting my automotive photography business this spring and I really want to work with this wheel company and get a set for my 02 Mustang GT.
You might be a small content creator now, but I think you will rise quite quickly, as I just subscribed. I think this video is one of the best and most informative videos I have seen on RUclips.
OMG I am so glad I watched this video lol I JUST got a company reach to me about a collaboration and I was really about to go all in and do so much for them. This is the first company reaching out to me lol so I kinda have no idea how to and what to say lmao but I love that you mentioned that you don't have to overpromise bc that was exactly what I was just about to do lol THANK YOU for making this video 😊
Great value in this video man! I wish I saw this when I started out. I think point 5 is the most important one. It sometimes just takes some time and then all of a sudden the ball will start rolling! Besides that, don't sell your soul to brands... you (and your time working on creating videos) are worth more than you think! Congrats on hitting that 5k btw, onwards to 50k! ✌
I have received my 5th product in the last 5 weeks with less than 300 subs. These company really do send you stuff because us smaller channels tend to do the videos for free. I thought it was a scam at first lol but it’s been legit It’s funny I came across this video. The only thing that drives me crazy is. I’m very organized with “when” I release my videos. This morning a company that sent me a product a week ago. Emails me right before I’m about to release the video (5:40AM) with additional request. This has happened 3 times now. I don’t understand why they don’t tell me all the info in the beginning. Not the day of my video release. I try not to trip because it’s such a blessing. I am very thankful. God Bless brother
@@RealReaperReacts they found me through the email link on my page. I didn’t think anyone would send anything this early. Two of the companies are iVanky and Tagry
Great video! One thing that is often left out - you need to pay taxes on these products. If you receive products as payment for a service (creating a video, content etc), they are taxable by your income tax rate. I know in Denmark, where I'm from, the IRS equivalent have started to crack down harder on this - as most creators/influencers simply don't do it.
1000th like on this vid! Great video and keep it up like that! I'm starting in videography since i've worked on projects like videos for the anniversary of my school and other projects like that, and I hope to make it my job in the future! Your video was of great help to me!
Some companies actually list their requirements for the collab (like you need 20k subs on YT, etc). And these collabs can be slippery slope, especially with some shady companies. But yeah, nice video. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I'm a small creator with less than a 1000 subscribers. I resonate so well with a lot of your points here. Consistency is really key, and is what I am prioritizing this year. Thanks for the motivation. See you at the top. New sub here 🔔
Hey really good vid. Easy to watch, clear messaging and some good tactics. It would be great if you did a run through of your 'media kit' or pitch... I'm at about 1.4K subs as a fishing channel. I have one affiliate deal that's been going for about 6 months, and have my first product review to do... I'd like to do more of this, especially because I like trying new fishing techniques etc so it's good for me to try new gear. But I can't always, buy new gear all the time...
I can 100% relate to this! As someone who is just starting out in the gaming niche, I have emailed a few brands/gaming companies with little to no reply.. I have also received a bunch of free game keys and DLCs at the same time. There is still so much to learn when it comes to reaching out to brands/companies and developers. I recommend that you just send that email to the company and hope for the best! Worst case scenario they say no or don’t respond. 😊
Great tips bryce! Very important to also not let yourself put down if you don't get a collab. It happens earlier for some and later for others. I for myself took social media serious for the last 6 months (just trying what happens) and got some requests by less known companies that produce cheap products. I declined since the value i put in wouldn't come up with the value i got. After that a huge gimbal manufacturer reached out to me to collaborate. I wasn't prepared since they came over TikTok and i had like 1,3k follows over there. They saw the value and quality and thats what was important for them. They said "followers will come over time anyways". Numbers don't really matter that much anymore, quality counts.
Dang I love that! I think that’s a great example of a company that values quality over numbers too 🙏🏻 I hope you continue to grow and succeed for the next 6 months!
I'm at under 100, and at the moment i'm not sure WHAT companies I could work with, only because I sort of haven't had a chance to solidify my content as it's difficult as hell to be a sometimes twitch streamer who makes music, and also does videos on AI lol. That being said, this was extremely useful, because when i'm able to focus on something like this, it'll be useful!
Great advice. I'm a micro creator at this point, but I'm going to shoot my shot and present a colab/offer to a company that I've always used their products for 12+ years.
Be careful taking too many "free" things from cheapo Chinese companies to make reviews on them... it'll hurt your channel as many people don't care about that gear and your audience will feel it and disengage. In all types of sales, you do not want to come off as desperate. Definitely play hard to get! As you mentioned, alot of companies will try and take advantage of you big time, especially if they know you are a "small" creator. Regardless, this is a solid videos about certain insights that aren't talked about on YT.
100%%% I’ve had to check myself a few times and say no to things that didn’t make sense for my channel. Once you say yes to a couple a flood gate of companies come 😂 it can be tempting. I had a section in the video that I cut out where I talked about this. I kinda wish I didn’t, but it felt too harsh at the time. But I’m glad you said it!
I'm the 5k subscriber lol keep it up bro I'm about to use all the these gems you dropped!!
