i’d say the reason she looked sad when they said that is because mrs. afton died right after Elizabeth was born and B.V. never really experienced much attention from her and he also has memory issues

i agree on you with this! in my au mrs. afton wasn’t necessarily a bad person but she wasn’t the best mother. she obviously loved her kids but she didn’t really give them all the attention they should’ve gotten
