@@BennyCranston Quick question. What Software did you use to get the midi from your kit? I'm looking for a Windows solution that I can use with the A-B USB cable to a laptop.
@@mr2nut123 I use a scuffed version of Cubase 5, with the Get Good Drums plugin, forgot what version but that all ya need!

If I'm not wrong, you're learning the song note for note, right?
Cuz I don't see any mics around your kit, and I can only assume you recorded the audio beforehand, and then recorded the video to be in sync with the audio, which some people may think is "fake" but I think it's actually harder than recording it live and more respectable in terms of video/performance quality. If it's still your playing in the end, it doesn't matter to me how it is presented in the video.
Correct me if I'm wrong about your production process, but if I'm right, I would like to applaud your dedication.
I appreciate the kind words man! My recording process is writing out the song in Cubase using MIDI by listening to the song and drums. I then sit down at the kit and run over each section until I can play the song. I set up where I'm going to film and do a few takes at different angles, afterwards I cut together the video and watch through the final edit and look at how hard/soft I'm hitting and adjust the velocities in Cubase. Finally, I send it off to get mixed and mastered!
I understand why people would call it fake because it's "not my actual recording of the drums", but for someone who can't afford a full mic setup with recording equipment, as well as a decent area to record audio in, it's a really good way to film your drum covers!
@@BennyCranston That's actually so much more detailed than what I expected. That's crazy man, I think the dedication to analyze each and every hit like that is amazing. You obviously know how to play the songs, judging from how you play them in the videos. But tbh, in a dedicated performance video, I honestly prefer perfectly produced drums, so your videos are amazing in my opinion. Keep on the grind man!
