💸 Question of the Day: Is there something that you are saving up for? / Is there anything that you would like to splash out on? 💰My answer: I am saving up money to go on a trip to Europe. Every month I've been cutting back on spending and trying to set aside some money to travel to England. How about you?
Yes, teacher Jen, I'm saving up money for any unexpected situation to come. For example when I die my wife will receive my salary but she has to wait several months to get that money, so she will have to spend that saving money to survive.

When I was young I used to splash out on original CDs and DVDs (Bryan Adams: 3 CDs, Rush, Shania Twain, Celine Dion, also American and British bands and singers, including the Swedish group Abba).
@ It is very wise to think ahead and save for the future. We have a useful expression in English which is to "save up for a rainy day." This means exactly what you have written, save money for the future in case something bad and unexpected happens. 💰

Even if you don't have any exact goals that you're saving up for, it's always good to save for a rainy day 😉. "To save for a rainy day" means to set aside some money and keep it to use in the future in case there is an emergency or situation where money is suddenly needed. 💰

I saved up some money, but not a lot. Saving money in my country in the type of official currency(Rial) is not a good idea because of inflation. I splash out money for my new project every time to gain progress.

But I had many things I had to set aside some money for in the same time including study, marriage and immigration, but I have to do only one at present. However, in general I just save for saving. For cutting back spending, I try hard to stop having things which I don't like as I had to have it when weakened, but it gave me a lot of experiences, also made me more conscious and sympathetic with others.
