Man I forgot how much anxiety the Sonic games gave me as a kid. Being underwater looking for bubbles of air, being in the pyramid hoping it doesn’t go dark, and the last doomsday level hoping you don’t run out of rings. This brings back both good and bad times! lol
you're lucky you knew there were air bubbles! as a kid i was so oblivious that when i went in the water i just hoped that id make it out in time. then years later i watched gameplays and found out there were bubbles you can swallow the entire time. the amount of anxiety that music gave me when you're about to drown is still engraved in me!

With Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles on their own you can only collect the seven Chaos Emeralds to achieve Supersonic. With the two games combined you have to collect seven Chaos Emeralds and seven Super Emeralds to achieve HyperSonic.
Remember as a little kid picking tails only on sonic 2, getting all the emeralds, grabbing 50 rings and feeling crushing disappointment realizing I just wasted my time because nothing happens lmao
lol I have this game at my old pc before it was a decent i7 pc. downloaded the mega drive emulator and I put in the cheat code lol played super sonic from start to finish while not losing any rings. 😁 😂
oh and you can get the sonic and knuckles title screen in sonic if you go to that first vine in angel island in sonic 3 and put in left left left right right right and up up up you will hear a ring and then hit A to go to the sega logo hit A again go down twice and then hit A again go to sound test and then do 19941018nthen you will hear another ring then go to hydro with a space city act 1 the go hit C about three times you will see a waterfall hit A like alot then you will crash but then you see sega then the sonic and knuckles title screen will show up select a character then go tomushroom hill zone it will have different music though it is pretty much good

Because Sonic and Kunckles is basically just the 2nd half of Sonic 3, if you want Hyper Sonic, you gotta use lock on technology by combing Sonic 3 and Sonic and Kunckles into Sonic 3 and Kunckles for the full experience

I think they are sprites. The genisis couldn't render 3d. Their just really well drawn
