    A big reason why it took 2 and a half years is because of Orochimaru. He switched to a new body at the end of Part 1, so we needed an almost 3-year skip because we needed to keep the threat of Orochimaru stealing Sasuke's body alive.

    • @michaeleanthonyjr
      @michaeleanthonyjr Год назад +56

      @@redninja3056 His different ways of using those jutsu only amounted to more shadow clones and bigger rasengan for the majority of the story. Fights with Naruto's existing kit are largely uninteresting to watch when compared to his peers and that could be remedied either with more creativity within the limits of his kit or more versatility within his kit such as more utilization of ninja tools or more jutsu to help set up for bigger attacks like Sasuke has. But a 1 handed rasengan wouldn't be a deal breaker in either category, and Kishimoto clearly didn't do either.
      And again, he mastered the Rasenshuriken and Sage mode while still having trouble controlling his chakra, and Kishimoto could have written someone like Yamato to appear earlier within the story to help suppress the nine tails in the mean time if he wanted to. You gotta think about this story as a story, and not as a series of actual real events that have occurred which could only go a limited amount of ways.

      Timeskips are shown because people love timeskips. If the main character is young and it's a long running series, people will want to see how the characters grow. It's also why people love seeing epilogues after a story is finished.

      Deku from My Hero Academia and Boruto from the Naruto verse at least try to make the main characters versatile ,but people hate it when that happens for example Deku's quirks and Boruto's "Lighting style thunder triplet" and Wind style Gale palm he learned from Mitsuki in the mist village arc when he asked Mitsuki to teach Boruto those skills before fighting that fish shark Samurai guy can not remember his name ,but Boruto said after his fight he asks Mitsuki to show him better control of those 2 Jutsu he learned from Mitsuki. During the leaf village Remembrance episode to pay respects to the dead shinobi of the past this mini arc happened he said he learned "Water Style "from Ao off screen before Boruto's sparing match against Naruto. Dragon Ball Z has characters learning techniques off screen I remember Goku learning Kai-ken and the sprit bomb off screen to face Vegita in the sayjin Arc also Trunks and Vegita learned ascended super Sayjin which is more powerful but way slower super sayjin they learned off-screen from the time chamber training . it does not matter when a character learns a new technique off screen when there are going to be more powerful enemies in the future to fight. I do not mind when characters learn skills and Techniques off screen some Shonen manga still does this it only becomes an issue if a character learns a Hax broken skill off screen that allows the character to one-shot anyone. manga's like Boruto ,Dragon ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, and Yu-Yu-Hakusho have some characters learn skills and Techniques Off Screen ,but they were never immersion breaking Broken skills and Technique kits which still kept things in Balance.

    I always find it a bit reaching how the most hyperactive kid in Konoha, aka the one guy who's always raring to go without much of a plan in the fight against Deidara, was able to master Sage Mode whose training requires complete & perfect stillness in such a short span of time. I would've found the development more believable if Naruto was able to learn an imperfect version of it during the timeskip & how he was making short bouts of progress ever since, finally mastering the technique / transformation by the time Pain attacks Konoha. It signifies that he has finally learned how to be calm & collected in the face of extreme danger, able to make rational decisions in the heat of the moment which is pretty much how a Hokage, the position that he's aspiring to be, should act. This journey of mastering Sage Mode could've gone hand-in-hand in his personal mission to learn & harness the Nine-Tails' chakra left to him by Jiraiya. The former would've been a good way to show how much he grew as a shinobi, while the latter would've shown how much he grew as a person. The logical end to this journey of maturation for Naruto would be him having what it takes to finally take on the mantle of the Hokage by the end of Shippuden, & not the joke of an inauguration that we got (seriously, did Jiraiya not teach him _ANYTHING_ during the timeskip? That Naruto had to basically go back to school after finally defeating Sasuke at the end of Shippuden reflects poorly on Jiraiya, in my opinion)

Toad summoning, basic air,water and/or earth training, maybe knowledge of sage mode, some of Jiriya's Toad jutsu like Toad oil and the needle jizo, some of Kakashi's own jutsu like the one where they burrow underground and put it in a fight. I think that Jiraiya bringing up the failed nine-tails training was to foreshadow a weakness that Naruto has for the first half of part 2. He gets manipulated by Kurama a LOT more here than he does in Part 1. He does it vs Deidara, he does it vs Orochimaru, he actively needs to be watched by Yamato while training or even basic frustration would cause Kurama to bubble over. All this culminates in him almost getting a full transformation vs Pain. I think while this paints Naruto's training with Jiraiya as pretty lackluster, it serves purpose in the story. It establishes that the weakening seal on Kurama is an issue and that allows Naruto to meet Minato, learn about Tobi and eventually start training with B. On the topic of Naruto's overall strength, I do thing Kishimoto sort of overshot the gap between him and Sasuke. The point is supposed to be that Naruto looks like a Chunin while Sasuke looks like someone who could 1v1 an akatsuki member and live to tell the story, but the biggest problem with this is that Naruto was already a Chunin level fighter by the end of part 1. Sure, he barely bullshitted past his exam fight vs Neji and didn't promote because of that but the version of Naruto who fights Sasuke at the valley of the end would have turned Neji into a pile of dust. Part 2 Naruto does look a bit sharper, with Kishimoto showing him doing some stuff with clones that he didn't really have the speed or intelligence to do back in Part 1 (My favorite example being how fast he was able to pop out a clone to defend Kakashi from Chiyo, an arguably Kage-level fighter). It would have been nice to see Naruto packing some more techniques beyond shadow clones and rasengan, but sadly that just isn't how Kishimoto usually writes thing. Every character has a core set of 2-3 tools and it just depends on how they use them. When Naruto does eventually come up with his new technique, it's just a variation on the Rasengan. Sasuke's new array of tools in Part 2 are mostly variations on the Chidori and the curse seal. When he gets the mangekyo, thing's really don't change that much. Amaterasu replaces his Fire Release, Kagatsuchi replace his Chidori techniques and Susano'o replaces the curse seal. That's just Kishimoto's style.
    Also, very off-topic but this is why I sorta don't get why people talk about fights and narrative in shounen as if they're separate things because this is an area in Naruto where Kishimoto's quirks as a fight writer led to issues he has a plot writer. They're tangled up in this genre and trying to separate them leads to headaches.

    A water style jutsu to counter Sasuke's fire ball jutsu.
    Summoning Toads more regularly than he does and actually using them in fights. Not counting filler Naruto used toads twice in Shippuden.
    And maybe because lord knows it doesn't get enough use outside of the Uchia a sound based Genjutsu so Sasuke can't easily counter it.

      Lastly, ISFJ are notorious for impersonating other people's identities IRL and on the internet; while ESFJ-9W1 superficially appears like an ENFJ, they have different 'neurology' and psychology. Both XSFJ are superficial by nature and perceive reality at face-value/surface level.

      Sage Mode? Similar story. People debate if it was 1-2 weeks or like a month.
      Kcm we know some concrete dates of the Pain arc due to it being the end of data book 3, and it had Gai being a year older and his birthday is like new years... and we know the war is in October cause of Narutos birthday. So about 10 months. But you can argue how long til the kage summit whether it was days or a couple weeks after pain... and you can argue how long it was til Naruto started his kcm training on turtle Island.

    It is important.
    Naruto basics were beyond trash, his only grace was having a lot of chakra because he learned almost nothing in academy. Just because he knew 2 good strong jutsu(Rasengan, taijuu kage bunshin) does not mean he was really good.
    With Jiraiya he got good in all basic skills he never properly learned, like Sasuke did in part one. Sasuke got stronger with orochimaru because he already hade a solid base so he could learn new things unlike Naruto.
    We see how much stronger Naruto got with just a solid base, then AFTER his arrival he can learn things better because now he have a better chakra control, that's why he was able to Rasenshuriken, it was not only because of Kagebunshin, because no matter the amount of it he had in part one with his bad skills he would never be able to develop it in a few weeks.
    After getting even better with chakra control in the process of making rasenshuriken he could take the step to master sage mode. It requires perfect chakra control to learn, beside a huge amount of chakra. He could also learn frog kata because he got better at taijutsu.
    Just by polishing his basics in those 3 years, in the 2years we saw him developing new skills in shippuden he suprassed Sasuke by alot. Lets be real, if Hagoromo never appeared and gave Sasuke new power, he would never be able to even beat sage mode Naruto, much less Naruto kcm+sage mode.
    Sasuke just got a chakra boost out of his ass because Kishimoto wanted to finish the manga with a Naruto vs Sasuke fight, because Sasuke had very little chakra compared to EVEN kid Naruto without using kurama chakra. With the amount of chakra he had, he should never have been ablt to use Susano for a long time, he just had a little bit more than Kakashi in term of chakra pool.
    For Sakura this time skipp was also good, because while she was school smart she was really useless as a ninja, she could barely fight. What is the good of having amazing chakra control if she could not make a jutsu or do some taijutsu?
    The time skip was also for Naruto not be so useless against akatsuki, and Konoha have got stabilized after orochimaru attack. I guess the only real bad thing is the other gening were forgoten so we barely see them. Shippuden focused too much on Naruto and sasuke instead of making other characters shine too.
    Like in pain battle, other people there should have been more useful, especialy Sakura and hinata team even if pain would win in the end, at least to show how stronger they got, this way on 4th war these character could have became stronger there and have some real role instead of being useless.

  • @Seatek_Ark
    @Seatek_Ark Год назад +7

    Sasuke and orochimaru time requirements and Gaara's progression feels way better over a 2-3 year timeskip. Actually having the konoha 11 hit chuunin and even jonin over 2-3 years makes a lot of sense. The problem with the time skip is Naruto barely showcased his improvements. I think showing that he had an insanely difficult time controlling his chakra with Kurama's influence and having that be the focus of his improvements was and should have been the point. In Og Naruto, he's a terrible ninja that gets by having a huge pool of chakra. In the timeskip, Jaraiya fixes the seal that Orochimaru messed with, then spent two years on turning him into a high-quality ninja that ALSO has a giant pool of chakra. This would culminate in breaking genjutsu from Itachi and doing a 1-handed Rasengen.
    But they don't show that... he still has poor chakra control, can't break genjutsu, and still needs clones for rasengen. This looks even worse when Kakashi introduces the clone learning tech, but they could have said "Jaraiya told me you guys worked on your chakra control and we think this clone tech is something you can take advantage of now that you're progressing." But no, Jaraiya looks incompetent, and the time skip didn't do anything for Naruto.

I mean he did more growing in the whole Shippuden than the Timeskip itself so the training was not the effective I guess? One of the only thing good that I think came out of it is the increased and strengthened bond between Naruto and Jiraiya.

    Naruto mastered upto three tails. It’s just after the four tails incident and the seal’s degradation that Jiraiya bans its use. So now Naruto has to proactively suppress the nine tails when it was automatic before, and he doesn’t even get to benefit from most of his training. We never see him use kyuubi chakra without him raging first and then it progressed to getting out of hand, whereas in part one he had full control over releasing red chakra.
    All that was needed was one fight where Naruto comments how difficult it is to keep the nine tails under wraps when he uses a lot of chakra at once, even when he’s completely calm because of how loose the seal is. And then once he’s out of chakra, show him choose to relax his grip a little and resort to kyuubi chakra to stay in the fight. He goes from one tail to two to three, all the while remaining calm and showing the full fruits of his training, but still commenting on how he has to keep a tight leash and not let it slip any further than this. And then when he’s about to win, have him be suddenly struck with a surge of corrupted chakra. He’s able to force it back down but having to close down his 3 tail cloak leaves him without any chakra, and suppressing the seal leaves him too distracted to finish the fight. So he decides winning the fight is more important and let’s the 4th tail rampage.
    But nope, the story doesn’t think to build up the 4 tails and show how the nine tails cheats Naruto out of his training and full power, and instead it just shows Naruto be constantly short tempered and get provoked into immediately entering 4 tails without Naruto doing anything about it, and forcing someone else to come suppress him.
