Idk if you have noticed this, but being assertive isn't really Alex's strength. In fact the only people she asserts her voice upon is her family, cause they let her. Otherwise she's quite a people pleaser.

@@joshmg25 i mean... I'm sure by that time she's already given enough hint about how she acts with people outside her family, hell, she's already living the "introverted nerd" trope since Season 1. Besides, that's what pretty much every teenager who's trying to socialize and fit in with the circle been through, especially ones who are/were having difficulty in doing their social life; And I'm sure that applies to even adulthood as well. She didn't wanna risk her already low-mid social reputation by being the talk of the town in a bad way, socializing outside her clique was hard for her, so of course the first thing she'd do was to get approval to mingle with the new circle, she's been, as what the first guy said, people's pleaser, she'd do anything to get accepted but not to the downlow dumb rate.

I don’t like her because of how easy she is willing to sacrifice her self respect for the sake of being liked by other popular people. I too, like her, am a nerd and saw that the only way for people to stop bullying me and to like me was to change my image but I refused to change myself for the sake of being liked; I’d rather be bullied and pushed around rather than sacrifice my self respect and what makes me me and let those assholes win. The fact that she is willing to do that so easily makes me dislike her. I am nerd but when a nerd sacrifices their self respect for the sake to be liked by others, those are the type of nerds I have zero respect for.
