David was such a big voice and massive musical presence. It is like a chunk has been torn out of the world and what remains is a hole filled with silence. He had such a huge impact on the music world and on me. I never saw a musician love music and performance the way he did. He knew when they were sounding great and he would get so excited at the end of many song performances and give kudos to whoever wrote the song and the musicians he had just performed with. It was hard not to feel the magic because of his enthusiasm about a song that just played. His love of music was so evident that you could not help being moved and touched by his excitement. He would watch other band mates play and his eyes would glaze over because he thought it was so awesome. And it was...
