I think Toriyama & all DB fans loving Red Ribbon so much that in DBZ they give Dr. Gero & Android / Cell Saga. Even new Dragon Ball Super movie bring Red Ribbon thing again isn't it ?
They did have a lot of influence throughout the series. After all, Frieza's Ginyu Forces are based on them and they are overarching antagonist of Android and Cell Saga. The first major organization antagonists.
Funnily enough, I remember watching this arc when I was younger and barely understanding how everything played into it. I was a mindless toddler at the time, yet this arc kind of sparked the love of Dragon Ball which I still have today. I think it's pretty neat that I still have it too, and all thanks to this arc. Also, this theme is pure magnificence and my favorite villain theme in the series, Mezase Tenkaichi being my favorite theme in all of Dragon Ball. - Don't @ me.
The army of hell, turned red by the blood of their victims. Fire and destruction follow were they tread, the rainbow of terror always contains the red of hell also known simply as the Red Ribbon. The world shall trembled at Commander Red's boots, as the population begs for mercy of the ruthless army of demons by the name of color.
And just one kid in the orange beat this whole amazing army by himself. General blue is still my favorite bad guy to this day. He is my main in Budokai tenkaichi 3.
I just recently finished watching the Red Ribbon Arcs, and I thought General Blue was the most badass; being ambushed by an electric eel in the water and choking it to death in the struggle; surviving an underwater cave in and plane crash, almost all of these in a single day.
So much presence and power, even far into the future, they give terror, all because they wanted power. Remember, Cell l, that monster, is the result of Gero's loyalty and them. Truly big villains I love the RR Army so much, iconic
