Isn't it it incredible that we feel the need to jump forward (3:21) of a video just 4:00 short. people patience is so incredibly low today, and there I do not exclude myself, I also notice this. good video joel, thank you. :)
Haa well, I hate clickbait videos myself and I understand that some people will watch the video who have no reason to trust that I'm not using it, so I want to give them the option - but I always hope that people will watch the full videos and find them valuable! Glad you enjoyed it!
The information density of RUclips videos are extremely low (not this one btw.). I usually play videos in 1.5x speed to spare time. This one is the video in this topic I saw so far.
1:13 "shower thoughts" -- daft though it might sound: I have an all weather, rain proof notepad and pencil by the bath because bath thoughts are definitely a thing. Nice video, thanks.
I already embraced the Chandler thing for musical activities, it was meant for composing but I also use it for developing repertoire and transcribing. I got the idea from Graeme Greene among others. He said something along the lines of, I don't have to write, I just need to turn up at the office everyday with the intention. I also started to grapple better with boredom, not that I really ever get easily bored.
Very good question. Personally, I'd treat it as 'Current project or nothing', because that's the best way to make sure the current project gets thought about or (eventually) written: but I guess it depends on what your projects are, and how important they all are to you. So for instance, I'm working on a (short!) book that I'm planning to launch soon, and for me I earmark time to work on that or just stare into space, because otherwise all my other stuff will crowd in and make sure I never work on it.

Really like the "Work or nothing" idea, definitely going to have to implement that
Maybe I should call it the Raymond Chandler rule...

This doesn't sound daft at all! Can I ask what brand you use?
@@JoelSnape1 Sure, I've used Rite in the Rain, 4x6, top spirals the most. Got a little stack of them now! :)

This is cool and really interesting - I read a bunch of Greene when I was younger but I haven't heard that before. Thank you!
Nice little reminder, I needed something like this, thanks!
My pleasure!
Love your great advice Joel 😊😊😊❤
Thank you very much! Hope piano's going well!
I have a question, about Question 2: By "write or nothing," do you mean you only should write you current project, or can you write something else?
