3 years later, I still stand by this: Feel Special should’ve been a full-length album. It’s such a meaningful album… I love Eyes Wide Open but I reckon Feel Special deserved more than just a mini album
[× ×] is still one of my favorite albums in ANY genre, not just kpop. It's a masterpiece from start to finish. Also hard agree on The War and Perfect Velvet. Some other top contenders in my mind: WG Reboot, Taeyeon My Voice, Dreamcatcher Dystopia: The Tree Of Language. Edit to add, how could I forget, Pink Tape.
If a kpop group has a song named Butterfly/Butterflies YOU JUST KNOW their discography is good. Not saying kpop groups without a song titled Butterfly has a bad discography tho nooooooo.
"My Little Society” appreciation..... we love to see it. Even though its not personally my favorite from them, I adore this album so much. Anyways, fromis albums overall deserve more appreciation. And of course Bloom*iz and [X X] just had to be here. Both incredibly beautiful and diverse albums. Also, people had already said this but I freakin' love your style of editing so much. Its so neat and clean.
Yes! I feel like with time, Fromis_9 discography will be more and more appreciated because it will resist very well to the test of time. I think My Little Society and Midnight Guest in particular are amazing. From Our Memento Box is solid, I prefer it a bit less compared to the other two but it definitely has its moments and is a good work. I get why people say that the first two minis weren't all that: I think they have a couple of great b-sides each, but also various songs a bit "interchangeable in your memory" if you get what I mean (however especially To. Day I think maybe is a bit underappreciated). But I think the next three minis + the single albums (and all the singles in general) make Fromis_9 a very respectable group in the discography category. I love how in the same era we had We Go + Airplane Mode or Fun! + Love Rumpumpum and the first works anyway are happy, cute, funny, they have a good vibe. Jiwon voice is the cherry on top.
some of my favourite albums that weren't mentioned in the video: soul lady - yukika - the queen of citypop. she's yet to release a bad song. favourite songs: shade, pit a pet, cherries jubiles, soul lady, i feel love. obsession by exo - it's my favourite exo album. even as a kyungsoo stan i listen to it and imagine his vocals. all the tracks are amazing, a super cohesive listening experience. the styling for the mv/jacket shoot/stages was gorgeous too, and it continued exo's lore. favourite songs: ya ya ya, groove, jekyll. odd by shinee -it's probably the best example of shinee as a group. zero skips. view changed kpop forever, and again, the styling was so good. i've had lovesick on repeat for like 5 years now and it's still one of my favourite songs ever. favourite songs: romance, lovesick, black hole. kai - kai -if you haven't watched film:kai what are you doing with yourself. watch it now. definitely an album to listen to at night and imagine floating far far away, or in the car or on the airplane. favourite songs: amnesia, hello stranger, the entire album. max & match - loona odd eye circle pop/rnb perfection. unmatched to this day. they are VOCALISTS. definitely worth sitting somewhere quiet with a fancy sound setup and soaking it all in. favourite songs: odd front, sweet crazy love, uncover. semicolon - seventeen -personally i preferred semicolon over henggarae. home;run is one of my favourite seventeen title tracks. the mv references one of my favourite movies, 'snatch'. light a flame is a gift that keeps on giving - every version they've performed of it has been amazing and highlighted their charms differently. ah love is such a sweet cute summery song, it feels so happy and warm. favourite songs: light a flame, hey buddy, home;run, ah love. superm the first mini album - superm -to be honest, i wasn't sold on it when it first came out, but as time goes on i realise i've had every song from this album in my "on repeat" playlist. even though the title track is a bit meme-y, the bsides are A1. favourite songs: i can't stand the rain, super car, no manners. the park in the night part three - gwsn -gwsn deserve so much better. such a solid album. just an amazing collection of songs. great vocals, great production, incredible lasting power. lunarbuizl's red sun edit lives in my mind rent free. favourite songs: total eclipse (black out), black hole, night aviation. if you're reading this thank you for making it this far
The Perfect Red velvet, for me that's an album which made me think is it what 1989 was for Taylor Swift. Absolute perfection and I listen some song of that RV album everyday in my liked playlist, it can't escape my playlist even for one day. Edit : The fact you mentioned kingdom come and that I know it was written keeping Seulgi(ult bias) in mind makes me go places when I hear it, I close my eyes and feel it, it feels too good to be true ♥️
Young luv really is the gg album of fourth gen, as well as…NewJeans. But for bg I def think TXT too, but for me their best album is their minisode blue hour
Heng:garæ was such an ERAAAA I remember when we were casually anticipating the album drop next week and all of a sudden My My dropped And LnR comment section was so fun 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I’ve listened to 247 by STAYC everyday since the first time I heard it. That isn’t an exaggeration. YoungLuv is an amazing album. Run2U, Same Same, Butterfly…it’s crazy how good that album (and pretty much their entire discography) is. So happy you added them to this list. Feel Special is also amazing. The turning point after Fancy. Twice went up another level on that one.
tbh, TDC : STAR by TXT is quite underrated among another txt's albums (bc actually they go better every comeback) but i do agree that TDC STAR is one of the best EP that been released in kpop industry. the songs are well-made yet not necessarily smth hard to digest or smth. and my top tracks of it are blue orangeade, crown and our summer! and BTS' HYYH! idk but all songs in there are so nostalgic, esp Butterfly🥺
heng:garae is my comfort album i swear. whenever i feel down or want to have a break down, i'll play the whole album. I love it so much, its such a good night driving album too!! its the era and mini album that really solidified my love for seventeen's music and my era i started stanning
I will never stop saying Butterfly by LOONA and BTS are the best kpop songs!! Both respective albums just captures that 3rd Gen Emotional sound so incredibly well. Almost every song in the albums either make me cry, feel like I’m in a movie or bust out a weird dance move-truly masterpieces.
Not on the list but Dreamcatcher tree of language really deserve to be known as best kpop album coming from a GG that use rock metal sounds in their TT while their bside explore many different genre like trap, edm, jazz, tropical house, ballad and other sounds which i can't explain but a masterpiece
The ReVe festival 2022 (feel my rhythm), [X X], Taste of love, Lilac. Doublast, bloom*iz, and the dream chapter: eternity are my personal favourite albums of all time, I love songs that just feel magical and ballads are legit always the best tracks on albums in my opinion, I need my ethereal magic fairy 3am crying music, only skz and ateez are allowed to kill my eardrums.
Every single fromis_9 album has been actual perfection. the to. series just being great overall, how do u debut with pinocchio and miracle b4 following that up with 22century girl!??! Coloring is so amazing?? and fun factory having fly high and love rumpumpum?? and then My Little Society coming with Weather AND Mulgogi????? THEN 9 WAY TICKET HAVING AIRPLANE MODE!? THEN WE GET MIDNIGHT GUEST WITH HUSH HUSH AND ESCAPE ROOM- AND NOW WE GOT FROM OUR MEMENTO BOX A TRULY SKIPLESS MASTERPIECE!?! THEIR DISCOGRAPHY IS SO INSANE THEIR VOCALS AND CONSISTENCY IS WHY I MADE THEM MY ULTS OVER TWICE (love the girls tho their b sides still slap)
seventeen's albums are so good!! "semicolon" and "your choice" stand out to me!! the one you pointed out makes me cry everytime i listen to it, so yk its not an everyday vibe for me, since in the wise words of seventeen themselves, i dont wanna cry. (also shout out to you for pmo "weather" by fromis. ur a real one for that must say)
The taste, the editing, the commentary... Just wow! You're definitely one of the best ktubers maybe even the best. Can't wait for more videos about good albums and discographies ^^
the war and perfect velvet are one of kpop's greatest masterpieces along with f(x) pink tape. it's hard to explain how good these albums are, because just listening you can understand.
I have to say, this is a well-curated list!! I love that you added snippets of the songs so that I can get the feel right away. The War is also one of my fave albums from EXO, but XOXO and Universe remain on top for me (i'm a sucker for exo winter albums 😭). For NCT, my most fave album is Hello Future by the Dreamies (YES, the repackage album specifically, bcos of the three added tracks, esp. HF). For soloist, it would be Purpose by TAEYEON (Gravity is my ultimate fave taeyeon song) MAAAAN I wanna include all exo soloist albums lololol
your taste is sooo good what !!! debuting with a full album was already crazy enough but exo decided to make it a no skip? we don't deserve that. 😞 also tysm for the hello future and purpose appreciation 🤗
querencia by chungha is one of my all time favorites, it's so artsy and has some of the most beautiful kpop songs i've ever listened to, and damn, it has a lot of REALLY GOOD songs, also the last album chungha released was pretty good but I don't think it was as solid as querencia, idk, I'm just inviting anyone who hasn't listened to this album can give it a try
The dream chapter : star , the chaos chapter : freeze and Thursday's child are the best albums of TXT , especially the chaos chapter:freeze is my favorite album !
This reminded me just how much I need a new EXO album. SM I’m begging you. The War is probably my most played album of all time, specifically Going Crazy which is insane, Ko Ko Bop which despite what everyone says is amazing, and The Eve which is my all time favorite kpop song.
My personal favorite albums (warning: wall of text): 1. Flip That (LOONA) This album is a fresh breeze to my summer days this years, every single track in this album was well produced and well performed, one of the best releases of this year so far Recommended songs: Pale Blue Dot, Playback 2. VIVID (AB6IX) As a former Youngmin biased ABNEW, this album delighted and saddened me at the same time, each of the tracks in this album sound very different, the title track has a fun, quirky vibe to it, which I enjoy a lot in boygroups music, the bsides are just so phenomenal Recommended songs: Surreal, Midnight Blue 3. One-Reeler: Act IV (IZ*ONE) My first and sadly final comeback with the girls, this album made me emotional every single time I take a listen, at first I only listened to Panorama, but each of the bsides slowly attracted and made me obsessed with them, this album also showcased IZ*ONE's vocal very well. Recommended songs: Sequence, O Sole Mô 4. Zero: Fever, Pt.3 (ATEEZ) Their best album so far not gonna lie, they gave you all kinds of sound you could ask for, emotional, bright, intense,... All were included in 6 tracks of this album, my emotions were literally a rollercoaster every time I shuffle this Recommended songs: Not Too Late, Eternal Sunshine 5. It's Me, It's We (TEMPEST) One of my favorite debut albums ever. When I knew the group name is TEMPEST, I was afraid that they were gonna make that typical loud noise debut like most of other boygroups again. But no, they surprised me with this debut, I really miss this kind of bright, energetic concept from rookie boygroups, so TEMPEST really refreshed my music taste Recommended songs: Just A Little Bit, Bad At Love 6. You Never Walk Alone (BTS) Spring Day is my best healing song ever, I listened to this song when I was at the lowest time of my school years and it really helped me regain my composure and stopped me from all the negative thinkings, this album as a whole is a really good one as well, soft music from BTS is always the best Recommend songs: Not Today, Lost 7. Songs Of The Sirens (GFriends) My first time seeing a massive concept switch of GFriend and they did it so well, I don't care what y'all think, I still love Apple with all my hearts, this is one of their only songs to give all the members their spotlight, I think it deserves more loves from kpop fans. Recommended songs: Room of Mirrors, Crème Brulée 8. Eyes Wide Open (Twice) Another phenomenal release in 2020, this is the best album Twice had ever put out, I personally love this mature, royalty concept in this album more than their previous cute, youthful one, the bsides do deserve more recognition Recommended songs: Queen, Do What We Like 9. The Dream Chapter: Eternity (TXT) Again, concept switch, a lot of fans hate it, but I don't, I think it really suits the storylines they were making at the times, to be honest I love all TXT's albums but this one just hit different to me so I just had to put it here Recommended songs: Eternally (Tell me anyone who wasn't shocked at this) 10. Phase Two: WE (B Of You) This group sadly disbanded but I still want to let y'all know about their existence, they were only active in the industry for a good one year, but in that one year they served some of the most beautiful songs ever made, I hope that one day, I can see them reunite on stage again Recommended songs: Blank, Butterfly
your music taste is really similar to mine, I also love Flip That, It's Me It's We, Eyes Wide Open, Songs Of The Siren and Phase Two: We B Of You should be more recognized, their songs are unique and there is no bad song in their albums
i too enjoy "it's me, it's we" for the exact same reasons that you stated in your comment but unfortunately the following releases made their group name come true i fear... had to unstan them bcs they went into a complete different direction than what their debut mini album showed.
Ahhh I love how you let perfect velvet end the video. It’s such a great album. I just made me decide to stan red velvet and I love and ult them ever since. You have great taste. I saved some of the songs from this video!
fromis_9 well known for no skip discography and powerful bside. I can say all album tracks are great and always listen to their album highlight medley every day. Wish to know them sooner but now I will never regret it. Their songs are too good to make my life happy.
all of the albums you mentioned are just perfection, i feel like you really put how amazing and well made all of them are into the right words. also, i understand what you meant at the start, a truly amazing kpop album only comes around once in a while in an industry thats so fast paced, so it makes these ones all the more special
full belief that perfect velvet was the best thing to drop in kpop. the b-sides were outstanding and the mv concept for peekaboo??? cmon now its so good
i really love fromis_9 since their debut, glad its on here. i love xdinary heroes album - hello world b-sides are so good. i remember liking dreamcatchers album - raid of dream and so much more. i dont think this is kpop he sings in english but used to be in a kpop group i highly recommend dpr ian. i fell in love with both his albums. its such a vibe.
This is the first time i see someone mentioning fromis_9 and xdinary heroes in the same comment hahah, they're pretty different but they're still my favs (and yes, hello world is great)
Bloom*Iz: Miss iz*one Fearless: I have good taste, no skips Every IVE single: Ok I'm maybe a hardcore WIZ*ONE The Album: Slayed fr NewJeans 1st EP: My History: Attention, Cookie, Hype Boy, Hurt, Attention, Cookie, Hype Boy, Hurt, Attention, Cookie, Hype Boy, Hurt. The Story Begins: Holds a special place to me since it's what got me to Twice and kpop.
Fearless is like the Perfect Mini Album, literal No Skip Album, my favorite album by far, Blue Flame can take my Soul, even The World is My Oyster beats a lot of Kpop Bsides
@@MattOnce I got it when my mom suddenly decided to buy me an album with twice, I don't know much about kpop then, since I'm curious, I listened to it, not a biggest fan of like ooh ahh, do it again, like a fool, but I was into I think I'm Crazy, Truth and Candy Boy, a year, I finally decided to search up Twice's name, and found TT and Cheer Up exists, and I got into Twice and kpop
Honestly, 'XX' still remains to be my favorite LOONA album ever released. I'm going to sound dull but I miss this era a lot when I compare it to their more recent releases, like... everything was just perfect and I didn't feel like any member was pushed under the rug. And 'Colors' is my favorite LOONA's b-side. 💖As for the other picks, I definitely agree on 'Feel Special' and 'Perfect Velvet', and I so wish 'Perfect Velvet' got a reprint. If I were to own one Red Velvet album, I'd love it to be this one.
Your comment was already amazing because you just talked about XX, Perfect Velvet and Feel Special in one single sentence. But then you said TTOL and yes! That album was my pick for this video too like you have taste 😭
Finally some Colors appreciation in the house! Even tho it’s a bside I saw a performance of it and that’s what made me stan I don’t listen to Dreamcatcher often anymore but ttol is an exception bc it’s absolutely golden. Jazz Bar especially and would listen to it when doing schoolwork.
One of my top albums is the Dreamcatcher Tree of Languages album. Like every single song on that album was a bop. Like that album has Black or White, Red Sun, Sahara, In the Frozen, Jazz Bar and Daybreak on the same track list 😩. The title track was incredible. The Intro and Outro are well produced and immersive. Like for a first full album Dreamcatcher really did EVERYTHING.
some of the best kpop albums in my opinion (and there's a lot) are 1. formula of love by twice, maybe it's bc it's the first full length album ive listened to by a kpop group but idk every song just hits & there's not one song that feels out of place (except cactus lol) 2. hello by joy, such an amazing debut the whole album feels like a barbie movie soundtrack. 3. savage by aespa, again every song just fits & it works so well together u cant listen to one song without listening to them all 4. 12:00 by loona, it's their most cohesive & i think this sound suits them with their concept change. 5. hide & seek by purple kiss, again every track is just so amazing. an amazing first comeback & though they switch their concept to fit a quirky sound, it still feels like purki. 6. midnight guest by fromis_9, though there's some tracks im not a fan of, you have to admit it's such a great reintroduction to the kpop scene after a long hiatus. 7. young-luv.com by stayc, agree with u about everything. this album deserves album of the year IDC 8. smiley by yena, arguably, one of the best solo debuts this year. and best post-izone debut, her style of pop rock/pop punk feels so authentic even tho it's basically watered down disney music, but that's what makes it's so good! it's campy & fun, she doesn't take herself seriously it's great! 9. feel my rhythm by red velvet, i dont even think i have to say anything. amazing concept photos, amazing packaging, amazing songs. 10. oddinary by stray kids, there's only one song i dont like on this ep but it's such an amazing ep! venom, charmer, & muddy water are definite stand out tracks.
here's some more, i said it was gonna be a lot. 11. your world by kim hyerim, if you're into slow, christian horse girl music this is the album for you! the title track alongside its' music video is so pretty! 12. fearless by lesserrafim. another great post-izone debut! the album has the vibe of a fashion show (obvi!) only critic is the line distribution. 13. facade by wonho. i have this running joke with myself that wonho makes club music & this album is just meant for the club!!! 14. im nayeon by nayeon, another great solo debut. i was manifesting nayeon to have a sound similar to ariana grande & this album SCREAMS early ariana grande in the best way possible. it shows off her fun & quirky side while giving us something you wouldn't expect from her. i do wish the production for no problem was more lively however. 15. into the light by lightsum, probably one of the best teen crush/hi-teen albums in the past few years. some of the standouts from this album are i, good news, & bye bye love. AND THE FINAL ALBUM I HAVE LISTED IS 16. geekyland by purple kiss. literally just listened a few days ago but i absolutely love it! this is purple kiss' true sound! it makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you wanna dance. this is their best release to date & helped solidify them as the quirky scream queens (in my mind)!
Will definitely argue about about smiley being best post izone release we have glassy right therein front of our eyes let's not do our girl Yuri like that smiley definitely a close 2nd would've been first but express moon with glassy just does it for me luck 2 u is definitely up there tho I don't mean to disrespect or disregard your opinion tho smiley slaps
Loona has one of the best albums ever, + + is one of the greatest debut albums in kpop. Them coming back with × × is really a very good choice. And I also wanna add #, I know some orbits don't like so what but b-sides wise it's really a compact album. Plus Max and Match by Odd Eye Circle, lie to yourself all you want but it's up there in the list of the best album a kpop sub-unit ever put out.
finally a video that's not based on biasness but rather objectiveness....these r the *actual masterpieces* also, wld just like to say, i stan nearly all the groups here
My fav album is Canvas by Nu'est. Literally all the songs are meticulously made, make me feel high listening to an entire album. Every song has their own appeals, and overall the album is very healing, yet refreshing. I always listen to it whenever I want to escape the busyness of my life, and enjoy the arts.
Ahh, my utmost favorite from NU'EST is their album, The Table. The songs had this lively but vaguely nostalgic feeling that is just fascinating and emotionally provoking. Miss NU'EST ❤🧡💜🤍
I’m so obsessed with that 3rd-early 4th Gen sound. Idrk how to specify it but it’s really a mixture of emotional crying, edm, fifty shades music and weird and fun bops, ESPECIALLY that elegant and fun feel. Any album that captures that magic has me in a chokehold! (Looking at The War, The Dream Chapter: STAR & BLOOM*IZ) 👀
Such tasteee💜💜 Some of my favorite albums are: - All of BTS discography but Map of the Soul: 7 is definitely my favourite - Loona's XX, 12:00 and & - Chungha's Bare&Rare Pt.1 - TXT's the dreaming chapter star - NCT Dream's Hello Future & Beatbox - Day6's The Book of Us: Demon - iKon's Flashback - Monsta X' The Dreaming - D.O's Empathy - Chen's Dear My Dear & April - Young K's Eternal - TXT's both Chaos chapters - Chungha's Querencia - Pentagon's In:vite U - TXT's Minisode1 Blue Hour - P1Harmony's Disharmony Find Out - NCT's universe
BLOOM*IZ just screamed best. I remembered when i was very excited for the full album. I love the BLOOM*IZ era so much, the trailer and its bgm, the mv, the comeback stage, the outfits, they were so good. It was the only album i listened to the medley EVERY DAY, anyone can ask me to sing on that whole video. Dreamlike is my forever 1st place for IZ*ONE songs, i repeated it all day at that time, and i really mean all day, the first song i listened when i woke up, looped it till i fallen asleep and woke up again on the next morning. I was really crazy about it.
HYYH was such a great trilogy and such an unforgettable one! I was only there for the fire/save me comeback but I remember being blown away by the emo boy concept and HOUSE OF CARDS?!
I agree with a lot of this list - the rest were albums I hadn’t listened to before but now will have to listen to. XX was indeed a cultural reset. I’m also happy to see Young Luv on here - I listened to it recently for the first time and was blown away; prior to that I’d been maybe right about to stan STAYC but this album pushed me hard into SWITHdom. The songs are so beautiful, the vocals are next level, the passion is audible, and it’s such a wonderfully cohesive & well produced piece of work.
i NEVER comment on yt vids, and i'm not even halfway through watching but i just want to say you should be SO PROUD of this vid. its so beautiful visually and each description of the albums/songs is BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVE YOU FOREVER FOR PUTTING MY LITTLE SOCIETY IN HERE
Okay, unpopular opinion here. Beam of Prism by VIVIZ. Hear me out. HEAR ME OUT. That mini-album is shining every color in existence. It's diverse in style, feeling, and vibe. It can be fun with Bop Bop, chill with Lemonade, grand with Fiesta, and melancholic with Mirror. And have you heard Tweet Tweet? That song is outright hypnotic. If there was ever a song to describe the feeling of slowly descending into deep hypnosis, it would be Tweet Tweet. And don't even get me started on Love You Like. This song is the perfect encapsulation of love, beautiful, sweet, sorrowful, and somewhat painful. VIVIZ's agency put their whole bpmussy into this EP, it's simply flawless.
i love it i love it your taste is immaculate, the way i screamed when i saw henggarae and the war because no one talks about them enough?????? theyre too good to be ignored
Dreamcatcher The Tree of Language in the best Album KPOP 1.Scream 2.Tension 3.Red Sun 4.Black or White 5.Jazz Bar 6.Sahara 7.In the frozen 8.Daybreak 9.Full Moon 10.Over the sky 11.Paradise
My top albums are: 1. Golden Child - Yes. - It has been my favourite ever since first listen. I usually hate songs like Burn It, yet I loved it even just from the teasers. I don’t usually care for intro and outro tracks, but the intro track really sets the mood for the EP and I can’t help but listen to it. 2. NCT 127 - Sticker - I can’t stress enough how much I enjoy Sticker, both the song and the entire album. Something about it just feels more cohesive than their other releases. 3. Girls’ Generation - Lion Heart - I don’t have much to say about this one. It’s just a really enjoyable listening experience from start to finish. Quintessentially SNSD. 4. Girls’ Generation - Love & Peace - yes, I know it’s Japanese. It was their most recent release when I started listening to them, so it has a special place in my heart, and at the time I didn’t know it was Japanese 😅 5. Taeyeon - INVU - Taeyeon is my favourite singer, and yet when I first listened to this album, I didn’t like almost all the songs. But I changed my mind quickly, and now I think they’re some of her best.
i really do think Heng;garae is one of SVT's best albums yet, but an album I *personally* enjoy more is 'Going Seventeen'. It is such a diverse album. 1. Beautiful : The album starts with 'Beautiful' a mix unit song that's about how life feels boring and repetitive, but when with someone special to you, it feels special and, of course, *Beautiful* . The song makes you feel like you're special to them, while also being able to connect to the meaning (being what I said before), this song feels especially magical when listening to this on a walk to school, or a morning jog. And, this song is elevated more with DK's vocals, and how Shua and Dino and Minghao's vocals really do shine here. 2. BOOMBOOM : Gotta be one of their best title tracks. It's such a bop, it starts loud and ends loud, it doesn't feel loud, because, well it's always loud. The song itself is a unique take at a dance song, the lyrics is amazing (like Seventeen usually do), and the earworm it is, especially with the 'Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom'. It's one of their top title tracks. 3. HIGHLIGHT : This was the start of actually good performance unit songs (not saying anything before was bad, everything before was just meh imo), the song is a bop, it's a must listen, it's a dance song on steroids. THE LYRICS ARE AMAZING, you expect something non-meaningful from a song that sounds like this, but it's far from it, for example 'The reason for my existence is you, I wanna make you smile like the spring' it's not that deep, but it's not something you expect from a dance song. The choreo also is amazing, especially the chorus. 4. Lean on Me : Even though I prefer the previous song ('Space' from Love & Letter Repackage), this song is a great song. it expanded what the Hip Hop Unit can do, before this, all people expected was Hip Hop song, Space was an excellent try at expanding the genre, but it still had DK in it to compensate for the vocals. But Lean on Me, had no feats it was just the Hip Hop Unit, and they sang and rap the heck out of it, the song was lower on the tone to support the vocals of the HHU members, but they proved that they don't only rap, but also sang. The song in general is a great song about leaning a shoulder to someone you love when they need it, it's a great mix of a chill song and an emotional song. It's not one of their greatest songs, but it's one of their most influential songs. 5. Fast Pace : Seventeen's Best. Song. Ever. (not really) But, it's one of their greatest songs, this is an example of what Seventeen (especially, Woozi) can do with creativity. The tone of the song is meant to sound sexy and alluring, but the lyrics are completely otherwise, it's about a break up, with them using the metaphor of 'pace' to express the different paces them and this girl are walking in, and they'll never reach eachother and be side to side again. The lyrics are deep without needing the audience to analyze deeply to understand the meaning. The vocals (especially the Vocal Unit) elevate this song even more, it makes it 1000x better. 6. Don't Listen In Secret : THE VOCAL UNIT DOES IT AGAIN. To this point, since 'When I Grow Up' they've been doing ballads, and it feels boring after a while, but with this song they really said 'You're tired with ballads? Well, we'll give you another one and it will sound better than ever.' This song is an emotional roller coaster, their vocals really improved here (especially with Shua and Hannie), the emotion they portrayed in this song is amazing, they nailed it in every point of emotion, this is the standard of emotional ballad KPop songs. Understanding the lyrics makes it 1000x better, the climax with the Main Vocal Trio (DK, Seungkwan, Woozi) just hits you with that final hit of emotion, before it ends leaving you in a crying mess. It's the standard and will be for a long time. 7. I Don't Know : This song is like 'Don't Listen In Secret's much more depressed brother, and it's the second mix unit song. This song changes the feel of clarity in 'Don't Listen In Secret' with confusement, how they are confused of letting go or not, the vocals of Woozi and Seungkwan is amazing here, with Jun and Jeonghan not even sounding like themselves here, the climax is emotional, it's not loud and grand to keep that feeling of confusement and emptiness. The raps are amazing it doesn't feel out of place, the lyrics are amazing and full of emotion. It's my favorite song by Seventeen ever. 8. Smile Flower : This album really does get even more depressing as it progresses, this song is not a song about love, it's not a song about breaking up, it's not a happy song in disguise, it's a friendship song. Even though you could pinpoint the song as a deep love song, with the MV you can't mistake this song as anything other than a song about their friendship and their love for us Carats. The lyrics are deep, it's full of emotion, ending the album with something that doesn't sound as emotional as the 2 previous songs, but much more deeper and emotional in terms of lyrics. This song is really a tearjerker, once you understand the meaning, I'm sure you will be a crybaby listening to this song. The vocal unit's vocals (again) elevates this song into feeling even more emotional. I don't know how you can make an even sadder song than this, other than Seventeen themselves (with songs like Campfire, Habit, Hug, Us, Again, Kidult, Together, etc.) Going Seventeen is a revolutionary album, and will always be. It's a mix of emotional and happy and fun, it's diverse and you'll always be coming back to this album after you hear it. Before ending this, I also want to say other albums by Seventeen that are great, these are: - Boys Be : A teen love story at best, it's the standard of the teen love genre in KPop. With songs such as Mansae, Fronting, and Rock, it's one of their best albums. - Al1 : An album with a similar structure to 'Going Seventeen', it's an influential album. The title track 'Don't Wanna Cry' is a cultural reset, it introduced the electronic RnB Western-style music to KPop, it's an amazing album. Other songs that are great are Habit (Great emotion, Woozi-biased like me would kill for this song), Swimming Fool (Party song, Performance Unit came back to this dance genre with a great song that you can hear anywhere, and will make you dance), and Crazy in Love (Such a great song, it's a jazzy and groovy song that you just have to dance while listening to it). - An Ode : One of the greatest albums made, they nailed it. Never in my life, I expected a full album to be a no-skip. Fear, is a cultural reset. Songs like Hit, and Lucky make you jump with them both being almost two different genres. Songs like Lie Again, 247, and Second Life hits you with emotion. Let me hear you say and Network Love are songs for hot people. and Snap Shoot ends the album with a happy and a bop song. An Ode will always be an inspiration. - Your Choice : I really do hate that people appreciate Attaca much more than Your Choice only because of the title track (Attaca is still a good album tho). Your Choice will change your life, every song in it is amazing. This album has Heaven's Cloud (An amazing song overall, it's a love song, just that, but the lyrics really are amazing), Ready to Love (One of their top title tracks. No comments.), Anyone (I personally prefer this than Crush), G4ME BO1 (Fun song, makes great diversity in the album), Wave (Best performance unit song, this song is so good, the anti-drop is unnoticeable it's such a smooth song, and only hot people listen to it) and Same dream, same mind, same night (You can never go wrong with bringing back 90s RnB, if you love Versace on the Floor, you'll love this song too). - Other Albums : Other albums by Seventeen that are still excellent and life-changing are: LOVE&LETTER, TEEN;AGE, Director's Cut, Semicolon, and SECTOR 17 (Including Face the Sun). Every Seventeen album is great, and this is my personal opinion, and that's it.
My Little Society is one of my favorite albums, too. Even though there are only 5 songs, they are all great. fromis_9 has some surprisingly good b-sides.
Thanks for compiling this great list of albums that can help introduce new fans to K-pop music. It’s great to see STAYC’s Young Luv album from earlier this year in this list along with albums from 3rd gen gg queens like Red Velvet and Twice. I like your summary of the Young Luv album being a cohesive album, which captures the multitude of feelings one go through when they are young and in love. The Young Luv song itself is an absolute masterpiece that gives me goosebumps when they perform live.
this video needs more dreamcatcher tbh, especially their golden era 2018 eps. besides that, i think im going to check out bgs you mentioned, they sound like a very nice listen.
my favs:)) - enhypen 'dimension: dilemma' fav song; blockbuster - txt dream chapters fav songs; blue orangeade, roller coaster, every song on the eternity album - txt minisodes fav songs; wishlist, thursday's child has far to go - yukika 'soul lady' fav songs; soul lady, pit-a-pet - billlie 'the billage of perception: chapter two' fav song; my b = the birth of emotion - txt 'the chaos chapter: fight or escape' fav songs; ice cream, no rules, moa diary
one of my faves that wasn't here is happy moment by wjsn! literally like injecting dopamine straight into my veins. but you really listed most of my favorites ur taste is immaculate
Ok, but, like, let's all take a moment to appreciate how immaculate your taste is. This is a literal bop list, I mean this. Some of my favorite albums are: - Red Light - f(x) - Fearless - LE SSERAFIM - New Jeans - NewJeans - IVE's discography - Pink Tape - f(x) - INVU - Taeyeon
feel free to share ur fav albums too! 😁
Pretty much any Enhypen album really 💀 but also Dream Chap: Eternity :)) and ofc my love the Love Yourself series
Red Sun-By Mamamoo
[#]-By loona
Dystopia road to utopia-By dreamcatcher
Born pink
i burn or i never die by gidle
jo yuri’s 2nd album, and newjeans!
"perfect velvet " by red velvet literally decribes what the whole experience is like: perfect velvet
and then they went on to realising their most popular track for the repackage, it doesn't get any better than the Perfect Red Velvet
3 years later, I still stand by this: Feel Special should’ve been a full-length album. It’s such a meaningful album… I love Eyes Wide Open but I reckon Feel Special deserved more than just a mini album
Don't worry there will be more masterpieces to come. Twice's music keeps evolving and getting better and better!
I agree but idk imo EWO didn’t get the love oh deserved like Feel Special did :/
Feel Special is up there with Into the New World. The lyrics melt you especially the Feel Special Live R&B version.
@@MattOnce that doesn’t change the fact that Feel Special should’ve been a full album? Lol.
sorry not to be rude but ur username :( do you know what the KKK is
Dream Chapter: Star is one of the best debut albums of all time. periodt. also your editing >>>>
Yeah . And the fastest debut album to debut on world bb albums.
Yesss and honestly they barely have bad songs I personally love “the dream chapter: magic” and “ Minisode 1: blue hour” those albums have no skips
Blue Organade is slept on and is the best song on that album imo
I agree, the whole album was a vibe and it made me feel nostalgic
[× ×] is still one of my favorite albums in ANY genre, not just kpop. It's a masterpiece from start to finish. Also hard agree on The War and Perfect Velvet. Some other top contenders in my mind: WG Reboot, Taeyeon My Voice, Dreamcatcher Dystopia: The Tree Of Language.
Edit to add, how could I forget, Pink Tape.
I second that!
If a kpop group has a song named Butterfly/Butterflies YOU JUST KNOW their discography is good. Not saying kpop groups without a song titled Butterfly has a bad discography tho nooooooo.
Loona, Red velvet, BTS. Likeeeeeeee
truee like bts, stayc, loona, red velvet 🤌✨️
WJSN too
@@stewedtea also true!
STAN BTS, SLAYC, LOONA AND RED VELVET FOR CLEAR SKIN
perfect velvet is THE album for fall and winter like pleaseee, every single year i'm here for this masterpiece
YoungLuv, ever since it has been released is my most listened album every month!
Amazing album
I WAS JUST ABOTU TO SAY THAT
same!
BLOOM*IZ was shipped straight from heaven and I'm not even lying. Dreamlike, Eyes, Open Your Eyes, Ayaya OMG...
The group which was shipped from heaven so much so that it was too real to be true and was snatched so early.
I am so glad they release BLOOM*IZ!!!!
@@niketsinha18 When they disbanded heaven took them back and never will give it back 😥😢
it's probably my favorite album to ever exist. NO one does it like IZ*ONE i miss them so endlessly ;-;
fr definitely one of my top 10 albums ever. even the concept was awesome
i genuinely cant find one thing wrong with it (blue hair yujin supremacy)
Jiwon voice is the cherry on top.
i’m suprised to even see this comment BUT YES SOMEBODY TO LOVE, WEATHER AND MULGOGI
Happy 2nd birthday to MLS!
YESSSSS
My favorite from fromis is definitely midnight guest one of my fav album this year and DM as the title just hits
TXT’s debut truly were unforgettable. Each track had its moment to shine!
some of my favourite albums that weren't mentioned in the video:
soul lady - yukika
- the queen of citypop. she's yet to release a bad song.
favourite songs: shade, pit a pet, cherries jubiles, soul lady, i feel love.
obsession by exo
- it's my favourite exo album. even as a kyungsoo stan i listen to it and imagine his vocals. all the tracks are amazing, a super cohesive listening experience. the styling for the mv/jacket shoot/stages was gorgeous too, and it continued exo's lore. favourite songs: ya ya ya, groove, jekyll.
odd by shinee
-it's probably the best example of shinee as a group. zero skips. view changed kpop forever, and again, the styling was so good. i've had lovesick on repeat for like 5 years now and it's still one of my favourite songs ever.
favourite songs: romance, lovesick, black hole.
kai - kai
-if you haven't watched film:kai what are you doing with yourself. watch it now. definitely an album to listen to at night and imagine floating far far away, or in the car or on the airplane.
favourite songs: amnesia, hello stranger, the entire album.
max & match - loona odd eye circle
pop/rnb perfection. unmatched to this day. they are VOCALISTS. definitely worth sitting somewhere quiet with a fancy sound setup and soaking it all in.
favourite songs: odd front, sweet crazy love, uncover.
semicolon - seventeen
-personally i preferred semicolon over henggarae. home;run is one of my favourite seventeen title tracks. the mv references one of my favourite movies, 'snatch'. light a flame is a gift that keeps on giving - every version they've performed of it has been amazing and highlighted their charms differently. ah love is such a sweet cute summery song, it feels so happy and warm.
favourite songs: light a flame, hey buddy, home;run, ah love.
superm the first mini album - superm
-to be honest, i wasn't sold on it when it first came out, but as time goes on i realise i've had every song from this album in my "on repeat" playlist. even though the title track is a bit meme-y, the bsides are A1.
favourite songs: i can't stand the rain, super car, no manners.
the park in the night part three - gwsn
-gwsn deserve so much better. such a solid album. just an amazing collection of songs. great vocals, great production, incredible lasting power. lunarbuizl's red sun edit lives in my mind rent free.
favourite songs: total eclipse (black out), black hole, night aviation.
if you're reading this thank you for making it this far
GWSN - The Park in the Night part three is no skip and repeat for days.
soul lady by yukika is REAL MUSIC
YES YUKIKA THE QUEEN 🤌👏🤝
Idk how Woozi did to compose Kidult… such a gorgeous song… definitely one of my favorite as well by Seventeen
Way Home and Ghosting🥵🥵
@@memorablename69 sheeeeeeeshhhh😮💨
red velvet and bts have some of my absolute favorite albums start to finish.. like the perfect red velvet and lys tear are top tier
Heng:garæ was such an ERAAAA
I remember when we were casually anticipating the album drop next week and all of a sudden My My dropped
And LnR comment section was so fun 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I am SO SALTY over discovering Seventeen and Kpop as a whole, TWO WEEKS after Left and Right era ended.
Check out their R&B version of Feel Special. 😉
tbh, TDC : STAR by TXT is quite underrated among another txt's albums (bc actually they go better every comeback) but i do agree that TDC STAR is one of the best EP that been released in kpop industry. the songs are well-made yet not necessarily smth hard to digest or smth. and my top tracks of it are blue orangeade, crown and our summer!
and BTS' HYYH! idk but all songs in there are so nostalgic, esp Butterfly🥺
heng:garae is my comfort album i swear. whenever i feel down or want to have a break down, i'll play the whole album.
THIS
The ReVe festival 2022 (feel my rhythm), [X X], Taste of love, Lilac.
The Hyyh trilogy gives me the feels ✨
THE ENDING WHERE YOU ADDED THE LYRICS OF KINGDOM COME OMFG I GOT GOOSEBUMPS
Oh Fromis_9 are my ult just behind Twice after Feel good was released. My fav bsides from them are Weather, Pinocchio and Coloring
@@OnceUBellieve your taste in music is the same as mine. Pinocchio is so underappreciated. It's so catchy.
@@redpanda_009 samee i love pinocchio
The bridge of Airplane Mode still makes me tear up.
i'm so happy to see someone appreciate fromis_9's "to." series 😭
Seventeen's albums hits different..the lyrics are well made and on point
seventeen's albums are so good!!
Can't wait for more videos about good albums and discographies ^^
already knew bloom*iz was gonna be in here before clicking on the vid but damn it rly was such a great album😭
LOONA NEVER DISAPPOINTS😌
Periodt
the war and perfect velvet are one of kpop's greatest masterpieces along with f(x) pink tape. it's hard to explain how good these albums are, because just listening you can understand.
Savage by aespa and [X X] by Loona are hands down the best albums in kpop.
I agree with Loona but Aespa is a lot to take in
@@Ha-young_is_Just_Too_Fine the instrumentals, vocals and harmonisation in aespa’s savage album is just chef’s kiss
one of the best* its sounds dmb there re many albums you have not even heard of
querencia by chungha is one of my all time favorites, it's so artsy and has some of the most beautiful kpop songs i've ever listened to, and damn, it has a lot of REALLY GOOD songs, also the last album chungha released was pretty good but I don't think it was as solid as querencia, idk, I'm just inviting anyone who hasn't listened to this album can give it a try
Our Summer By TXT and Butterfly by LOONA are one of my favourite songs ever!
My personal favorite albums (warning: wall of text):
1. Flip That (LOONA)
This album is a fresh breeze to my summer days this years, every single track in this album was well produced and well performed, one of the best releases of this year so far
Recommended songs: Pale Blue Dot, Playback
2. VIVID (AB6IX)
As a former Youngmin biased ABNEW, this album delighted and saddened me at the same time, each of the tracks in this album sound very different, the title track has a fun, quirky vibe to it, which I enjoy a lot in boygroups music, the bsides are just so phenomenal
Recommended songs: Surreal, Midnight Blue
3. One-Reeler: Act IV (IZ*ONE)
My first and sadly final comeback with the girls, this album made me emotional every single time I take a listen, at first I only listened to Panorama, but each of the bsides slowly attracted and made me obsessed with them, this album also showcased IZ*ONE's vocal very well.
Recommended songs: Sequence, O Sole Mô
4. Zero: Fever, Pt.3 (ATEEZ)
Their best album so far not gonna lie, they gave you all kinds of sound you could ask for, emotional, bright, intense,... All were included in 6 tracks of this album, my emotions were literally a rollercoaster every time I shuffle this
Recommended songs: Not Too Late, Eternal Sunshine
5. It's Me, It's We (TEMPEST)
One of my favorite debut albums ever. When I knew the group name is TEMPEST, I was afraid that they were gonna make that typical loud noise debut like most of other boygroups again. But no, they surprised me with this debut, I really miss this kind of bright, energetic concept from rookie boygroups, so TEMPEST really refreshed my music taste
Recommended songs: Just A Little Bit, Bad At Love
6. You Never Walk Alone (BTS)
Spring Day is my best healing song ever, I listened to this song when I was at the lowest time of my school years and it really helped me regain my composure and stopped me from all the negative thinkings, this album as a whole is a really good one as well, soft music from BTS is always the best
Recommend songs: Not Today, Lost
7. Songs Of The Sirens (GFriends)
My first time seeing a massive concept switch of GFriend and they did it so well, I don't care what y'all think, I still love Apple with all my hearts, this is one of their only songs to give all the members their spotlight, I think it deserves more loves from kpop fans.
Recommended songs: Room of Mirrors, Crème Brulée
8. Eyes Wide Open (Twice)
Another phenomenal release in 2020, this is the best album Twice had ever put out, I personally love this mature, royalty concept in this album more than their previous cute, youthful one, the bsides do deserve more recognition
Recommended songs: Queen, Do What We Like
9. The Dream Chapter: Eternity (TXT)
Again, concept switch, a lot of fans hate it, but I don't, I think it really suits the storylines they were making at the times, to be honest I love all TXT's albums but this one just hit different to me so I just had to put it here
Recommended songs: Eternally (Tell me anyone who wasn't shocked at this)
10. Phase Two: WE (B Of You)
This group sadly disbanded but I still want to let y'all know about their existence, they were only active in the industry for a good one year, but in that one year they served some of the most beautiful songs ever made, I hope that one day, I can see them reunite on stage again
Recommended songs: Blank, Butterfly
YES @ Eyes Wide Open! Such an amazing album!!
your music taste is really similar to mine, I also love Flip That, It's Me It's We, Eyes Wide Open, Songs Of The Siren and Phase Two: We
B Of You should be more recognized, their songs are unique and there is no bad song in their albums
i too enjoy "it's me, it's we" for the exact same reasons that you stated in your comment but unfortunately the following releases made their group name come true i fear... had to unstan them bcs they went into a complete different direction than what their debut mini album showed.
I miss IZ*ONE so much 😭 Their songs were amazing!
I cried for 3 days after their last concert...then Billlie dropped Ring x Ring. 😊
all of the albums you mentioned are just perfection, i feel like you really put how amazing and well made all of them are into the right words. also, i understand what you meant at the start, a truly amazing kpop album only comes around once in a while in an industry thats so fast paced, so it makes these ones all the more special
kyungsoos vocals in the entire The War album just tickles my brain in the best way ever
full belief that perfect velvet was the best thing to drop in kpop. the b-sides were outstanding and the mv concept for peekaboo??? cmon now its so good
i really love fromis_9 since their debut, glad its on here. i love xdinary heroes album - hello world b-sides are so good. i remember liking dreamcatchers album - raid of dream and so much more. i dont think this is kpop he sings in english but used to be in a kpop group i highly recommend dpr ian. i fell in love with both his albums. its such a vibe.
This is the first time i see someone mentioning fromis_9 and xdinary heroes in the same comment hahah, they're pretty different but they're still my favs (and yes, hello world is great)
Bloom*Iz: Miss iz*one
Fearless: I have good taste, no skips
Every IVE single: Ok I'm maybe a hardcore WIZ*ONE
The Album: Slayed fr
NewJeans 1st EP: My History: Attention, Cookie, Hype Boy, Hurt, Attention, Cookie, Hype Boy, Hurt, Attention, Cookie, Hype Boy, Hurt.
The Story Begins: Holds a special place to me since it's what got me to Twice and kpop.
Love that you put The Story Begins. An amazing Debut of one of the best girl groups in history!
0:00 already starting the video off with loona.. then u know its gonna be good
Henggarae was a game changer. It really is one of the best albums out 🥹
Honestly, 'XX' still remains to be my favorite LOONA album ever released.
Even tho it’s a bside I saw a performance of it and that’s what made me stan
I don’t listen to Dreamcatcher often anymore but ttol is an exception bc it’s absolutely golden.
Like for a first full album Dreamcatcher really did EVERYTHING.
some of the best kpop albums in my opinion (and there's a lot) are
1. formula of love by twice, maybe it's bc it's the first full length album ive listened to by a kpop group but idk every song just hits & there's not one song that feels out of place (except cactus lol)
2. hello by joy, such an amazing debut the whole album feels like a barbie movie soundtrack.
3. savage by aespa, again every song just fits & it works so well together u cant listen to one song without listening to them all
4. 12:00 by loona, it's their most cohesive & i think this sound suits them with their concept change.
5. hide & seek by purple kiss, again every track is just so amazing. an amazing first comeback & though they switch their concept to fit a quirky sound, it still feels like purki.
6. midnight guest by fromis_9, though there's some tracks im not a fan of, you have to admit it's such a great reintroduction to the kpop scene after a long hiatus.
7. young-luv.com by stayc, agree with u about everything. this album deserves album of the year IDC
8. smiley by yena, arguably, one of the best solo debuts this year. and best post-izone debut, her style of pop rock/pop punk feels so authentic even tho it's basically watered down disney music, but that's what makes it's so good! it's campy & fun, she doesn't take herself seriously it's great!
9. feel my rhythm by red velvet, i dont even think i have to say anything. amazing concept photos, amazing packaging, amazing songs.
10. oddinary by stray kids, there's only one song i dont like on this ep but it's such an amazing ep! venom, charmer, & muddy water are definite stand out tracks.
here's some more, i said it was gonna be a lot.
11. your world by kim hyerim, if you're into slow, christian horse girl music this is the album for you! the title track alongside its' music video is so pretty!
12. fearless by lesserrafim. another great post-izone debut! the album has the vibe of a fashion show (obvi!) only critic is the line distribution.
13. facade by wonho. i have this running joke with myself that wonho makes club music & this album is just meant for the club!!!
14. im nayeon by nayeon, another great solo debut. i was manifesting nayeon to have a sound similar to ariana grande & this album SCREAMS early ariana grande in the best way possible. it shows off her fun & quirky side while giving us something you wouldn't expect from her. i do wish the production for no problem was more lively however.
15. into the light by lightsum, probably one of the best teen crush/hi-teen albums in the past few years. some of the standouts from this album are i, good news, & bye bye love.
AND THE FINAL ALBUM I HAVE LISTED IS
16. geekyland by purple kiss. literally just listened a few days ago but i absolutely love it! this is purple kiss' true sound! it makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you wanna dance. this is their best release to date & helped solidify them as the quirky scream queens (in my mind)!
Formula of Love is amazing!!!
Scientist, Icon, Push & Pull 😊
Will definitely argue about about smiley being best post izone release we have glassy right therein front of our eyes let's not do our girl Yuri like that smiley definitely a close 2nd would've been first but express moon with glassy just does it for me luck 2 u is definitely up there tho
I don't mean to disrespect or disregard your opinion tho smiley slaps
Loona has one of the best albums ever, + + is one of the greatest debut albums in kpop. Them coming back with × × is really a very good choice. And I also wanna add #, I know some orbits don't like so what but b-sides wise it's really a compact album. Plus Max and Match by Odd Eye Circle, lie to yourself all you want but it's up there in the list of the best album a kpop sub-unit ever put out.
Your editing has become immaculate, what a pleasure to watch these videos! Tysm for your work ❤
Along with the choices of the albums, the editing is a great job!
agreed, i love this channels editing
You starting with X X....... I already knew this video was gonna be a banger the second I saw that
finally a video that's not based on biasness but rather objectiveness....these r the *actual masterpieces*
also, wld just like to say, i stan nearly all the groups here
All txt albums and billlie's tbop1 is in my heart forever
Such tasteee💜💜
Some of my favorite albums are:
- All of BTS discography but Map of the Soul: 7 is definitely my favourite
- Loona's XX, 12:00 and &

Red Velvet’s The Red is one of the best albums. I also really love Le Sserafim’s debut
There’s nothing in the music industry that has the same vibes like X X. It’s so unique and amazing.
The editing is so good! I'm just a bit sad that there was no Dreamcatcher album in the list... The Tree of Language really deserved it!
HYYH was such a great trilogy and such an unforgettable one! I was only there for the fire/save me comeback but I remember being blown away by the emo boy concept and HOUSE OF CARDS?!
"My little society".... such a legendary era. Thank you for including them 🥺
I agree with a lot of this list - the rest were albums I hadn’t listened to before but now will have to listen to.
When I saw the video I thought of The War by Exo, because I literally was listening to it recently, and you included it in your list.
i NEVER comment on yt vids, and i'm not even halfway through watching but i just want to say you should be SO PROUD of this vid. its so beautiful visually and each description of the albums/songs is BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVE YOU FOREVER FOR PUTTING MY LITTLE SOCIETY IN HERE
XX by Loona literally holds me on a chokehold. I still can’t get over Butterfly like how did they release the best masterpieces in one album?!
MY LITTLE SOCIETY IS PEAK ALBUM THE WAY YOUR MOOD IS JUST ROLLERCOASTING
[XX] is also one of my favorite and one of those no skip albums
The war is my most favourite album of all time.... really need that type of k-pop from other group...
aespa's savage album was just chef's kiss. all the song in that album go together so well
i love it i love it your taste is immaculate, the way i screamed when i saw henggarae and the war because no one talks about them enough?????? theyre too good to be ignored

Bloomiz is the best album in kpop along with Dystopia:Tree of Language
We love this delicious editing
Also, YES Mulgogi is absolutely fantastic
House of cards makes me speechless
Dude i just wanna say, you are a man of culture and we have almost the exact same taste for music
Also My Little Society shall be played at my funeral
My top albums are:
It was their most recent release when I started listening to them, so it has a special place in my heart, and at the time I didn’t know it was Japanese 😅
1. Beautiful :
The album starts with 'Beautiful' a mix unit song that's about how life feels boring and repetitive, but when with someone special to you, it feels special and, of course, *Beautiful* .
2. BOOMBOOM :
Gotta be one of their best title tracks.
3. HIGHLIGHT :
This was the start of actually good performance unit songs (not saying anything before was bad, everything before was just meh imo), the song is a bop, it's a must listen, it's a dance song on steroids.
4. Lean on Me :
Even though I prefer the previous song ('Space' from Love & Letter Repackage), this song is a great song. it expanded what the Hip Hop Unit can do, before this, all people expected was Hip Hop song, Space was an excellent try at expanding the genre, but it still had DK in it to compensate for the vocals.
5. Fast Pace :
Seventeen's Best. Song.
6. Don't Listen In Secret :
THE VOCAL UNIT DOES IT AGAIN.
7. I Don't Know :
This song is like 'Don't Listen In Secret's much more depressed brother, and it's the second mix unit song.
8. Smile Flower :
This album really does get even more depressing as it progresses, this song is not a song about love, it's not a song about breaking up, it's not a happy song in disguise, it's a friendship song. I don't know how you can make an even sadder song than this, other than Seventeen themselves (with songs like Campfire, Habit, Hug, Us, Again, Kidult, Together, etc.)
Going Seventeen is a revolutionary album, and will always be. It's a mix of emotional and happy and fun, it's diverse and you'll always be coming back to this album after you hear it.
Before ending this, I also want to say other albums by Seventeen that are great, these are:
- Boys Be :
A teen love story at best, it's the standard of the teen love genre in KPop. With songs such as Mansae, Fronting, and Rock, it's one of their best albums.
- Al1 :
An album with a similar structure to 'Going Seventeen', it's an influential album.
- An Ode :
One of the greatest albums made, they nailed it.
- Your Choice :
I really do hate that people appreciate Attaca much more than Your Choice only because of the title track (Attaca is still a good album tho).
- Other Albums :
Other albums by Seventeen that are still excellent and life-changing are: LOVE&LETTER, TEEN;AGE, Director's Cut, Semicolon, and SECTOR 17 (Including Face the Sun).
Every Seventeen album is great, and this is my personal opinion, and that's it.
My Little Society is one of my favorite albums, too. Even though there are only 5 songs, they are all great. fromis_9 has some surprisingly good b-sides.
love this video concept, feel special is such an incredible ep i will never get over it
Thanks for compiling this great list of albums that can help introduce new fans to K-pop music. It’s great to see STAYC’s Young Luv album from earlier this year in this list along with albums from 3rd gen gg queens like Red Velvet and Twice. I like your summary of the Young Luv album being a cohesive album, which captures the multitude of feelings one go through when they are young and in love. The Young Luv song itself is an absolute masterpiece that gives me goosebumps when they perform live.
never knew how much i needed this ;____; every song is a certified BOP
i know everyone loves The Perfect Velvet, but The Red is just Kpop perfection, probably the greatest debut album ever
this video needs more dreamcatcher tbh, especially their golden era 2018 eps. besides that, i think im going to check out bgs you mentioned, they sound like a very nice listen.
Hengarae and My Little Society will always hold such a special place in my heart
