In my #TentSessions Series I introduce you to lightweight and ultralight shelters I own and use. These videos are not reviews but simply aimed at helping you see the tent in use, its features, how it is pitched and of course the weight.
In this Video I show you the Duos 2P from Bonfus, a very roomy and lightweight 2 Person Shelter which features two doors and two vestibules. I really like this design, and the craftsmanship is superb.

Great video Hendrik! Love to see a good preview of this shelter as there's currently very little info of these anywhere.
Thank you Isko :) It’s a great shelter for my needs and has served me well thus far.
Great review! Wind noise was bad, but pretty much expected with this scenery :) Will send you DM to agree date for trip to compare this with Duplex
The big doors actually made me think they would be terrible for mosquitoes. If you open them that wide, there is much more chance of them getting inside while you are setting up. Also, having the netting on the bottom makes me afraid I would tear it just getting in and out. Also, I agree with the door toggles. Other than those designs, I have always thought it looked pretty nice.
Great review. Thanks!
Merci Borgia (though it’s not a review 🤣)!
@@HendrikMorkel Well, I hope he will. :)
nice vid mate!
Hi, I own the 0.67 Camo version since February and used it several times since. It is really easy to pitch and spacious. Yes, opening and closing is a bit of a nuisance but you get used to it. I agree to the rest of what you said in your video.
To the downsides. As I saw it once in your video the base tub often isn’t a “tub” but more like a sheet. I am always worried I might get flooded in heavy rain. Maybe it is just a question of staking it out but until today I didn’t find the perfect way.
A big issue I have are the separately available carbon poles. They only fold 3 times and have a folded length of 45cm. I need those for bike packing and they are way too long! It’s super hard to store them on the bike. Therefore I ordered the Zpacks poles (they fold 5 times) and get them tomorrow, I hope this is a solution and that I somehow will be able to sell the ones I have. If anyone needs them (not for bike packing :) ) send me a mail.
thank you for the video Hendrik. It is a copy off the zpack duplex. But much cheaper. But brilliant tent. I like DCF very much. And last week i bought a Tarptent pro trail Li. crazy light weight.
Thanks Raymond! The Tarptent Pro Trail Li looks great - I hope you enjoy that a lot =)
@@HendrikMorkel I certainly will. I hope you do some more reviews of cuben fiber products. ATB Raymond
With poles with length 125cm work good or you recommend higher length?
Could you make a review?
Don’t remember Darwin having this accent before.
🤣
LMAO
Hey, also have a duos. What is the height of your poles? I have an issue the mesh is too low, as I have to put pole tips into the ground, and poles become some cm shorter.
Hei there, these Poles go till 135 cm and are working fine. Maybe you can just put a big stone or some twigs underneath your poles, to get them a bit higher?
@@HendrikMorkel I can try fix tips with some wide stubs (handmade or Powergrip Pad). My poles also 135, but from tip to grip
This is a crazy expensive tent! It makes the Durston X-mid Pro and the Z-Packs Duplex look like a bargain in comparison!
11:54 the price has changed significantly since this video. This tent is now €671.74 ($739 US) - €689.92 ($759 US) (this might be the US price since that’s where I’m looking at it from).
Very timely video, thank you. You say the tent is very spacious, but that's relative, do you mind telling us how tall you are? Thanks again for the overview!
Hei Nameth, you are right with that observation. I’m 175 cm tall and 65 kg light.
@@HendrikMorkel Thank you Sir. At 182cm(6ft), this may work for me.
@@nameth7201 I have seen people up to 185 cm comment (on a Forum) that it works well for them, so it could work well for you. I mean, at the end you see that there's a lot of space around the mats, both to the mesh and the flysheet.
@@HendrikMorkel I have this tent and I'm 185 cm. I use a nemo pad and katabic quilt. I never have issues with touching the walls with my head or feet. Hope that helps.
@@Frontfight i would think that laying diagonal would add an extra 10 cm easily.
imho packed sizes are just sooo big for 1,5-2 person shelters made of DCF, which is a clear disadvantage over "regular" materials or less material consuming DCF alternatives/shapes. The Bonfus Duos 2P in the stuff sack at the start of your video looks huge. That's not Bonfus' fault, just DCF. Still nice to see DCF alternatives on the market, even though the DCF prices just increased tremendously :(
Thanks for your work.
Yeah, DCF Shelters tend to be big in pack size - I didn't bother compressing the tent in this Video, but it can be made a bit smaller. On the plus side, because they are so light it is usually not a problem to simply strap them to the top of your backpack.
Thanks for the comment =)
How can I buy it?
Have you worked it out yet?
