The Director's comment is incorrect. If you consider Alien vs Predator canon then Predators were on Earth long before the 1700's. Theres a scene with them fighting on the pyramids.
Avp is not canon, and its never been canon. It doesn't matter if you think it is, because it doesn't change the fact that it isn't.

It's THIS Yautja's first hunt on Earth... just watched it 3 times. It's awesome.
In previous pred films it has been established that predators have been coming here for thousands of years if not longer. The director is mistaken or straying from canon. I imagine predators were possibly hunting our ancestor's ancestors going back to pre-human times, maybe even playing a roll in some mass extinction events in the past. Perhaps chicxulub impact could have been their first attempt to land a craft on earth

I was born in 1987, 2 months after the original film came out. I'm a fanboy for the original film, and I have absolutely no problem stating that, 'PREY' is by far the best addition to this franchise we've gotten since the original film (imo).
This is the film I've been waiting for. I'd say that this is the sequel I've been waiting for, but as we all know, this is a prequel.

In the movie Predators Vs Aliens they said that the pyramid structure they were exploring was thousands of years old, Prey is not the first time that the Predator was on earth, not even close.
The Comanche mainly inhabited the north Texas in Oklahoma plains. They were horse culture. This movie was filmed in Alberta Canada surrounded by mountains. Good job guys

I hear a lot of comments about this movies claim that this is the first time the predators were on earth, however in alien vs predator it shows them being on earth 1000 years earlier. And there are also comments that that movie was not canon, yet, weapons created by Alexa from the alien skull and tail are in the movie The predator, that would make The predator not cannon either.

This is not the first time the predator hunted on earth. He fought some of the pirate's in one of the books that the warrior girl got the gun the story says the predator fought with some of the pirate's and including the owner of the gun. He killed the pirate's then fought with the owner of the gun but he was killed by another pirate then the predator killed the pirate that shot the owner of the gun. Then the predator berried the owner with his treasure and the gun alongside with him I saw the movie prey and I say I enjoyed it prey is the predator prequel or sequel we wanted. I'd say it's a really good predator movie along with the original 1 and 2 predator movie 👍🏾
The commentator mentioned that it was the Predators first time on Earth but in The first AvP movie the Predators actually came to Earth during the the time of the Aztecs as it was mentioned in the first AvP movie

They wouldn't stand a chance. If a little comanche girl managed to defeat one of these, imagine an army of equipped, experienced soldiers.
After the surprise factor would pass, we would find a way to wipe them out and keep their technology, with which we would reach their home planet and wipe the entire race, finishing the threat for ever, and keeping their colonies for us.

Factoid they seemed to miss; The steel jawed trap was invented in 1821 by Sewell Newhouse, heralding in the Rocky Mountain Fur Trade. In the 1700s, even the Midwest was still largely uninhabited. Think, if you have fur trappers, you have to have a fur trading post. Just sayin..

@@ursdietter8328 the canonicity of the avp films is a little shaky. In my opinion these statements made for prey are to make up hype for the movie predator fans versus just making their time on earth vague. I liked the idea in the EU that the predors hunted dinosaurs for example.

This story line clashes with that of AVP, which has the Predator race on Earth during the Mayan civilization. Overall, these aliens don't really have any honor because they are far larger, stronger, and more technologically advanced than humans. So really, just kind of assholes.

I haven't seen the movie but I'm guessing the PREY is the PREDATOR which is the GIRL, that's why they call it PREY because the PREY becomes the PREDATOR at the very end of the movie. She does a turnaround at the very last 3/4 of the movie. I'm guessing everyone in her village is dead and she remembers a mystical wisdom thing tough by her eldest leader killed by the PREDATOR and she uses it to kill the predator, where she embraces it where she goes from PRAY to PREDATOR at the very end. Yay Girl power !!!..LOL

Just subscribed 8/4/2022 to watch Prey today.....NO sound on Prey or Prometheus but other movies work fine. Spent 2.5hrs with 5 different people on hulu chat and no answers as to why THEIR app or browsers dont have sound..... TERRIBLE experince NOT even subscribed for a whole 24hrs. AVOID HULU!!!!

What utter rubbish. Totally wrecking canon. AvP shows Predators have been visiting Earth for thousands of years, and yet here the actors themselves appear to be mis-reading their own scripts in such a way as to confuse a 1700s visit by a less-technological Predator as the first visit. Nonsense.
This movie sucked!!The violence scenes were good but they were too far in between in the storyline and acting was terrible. Please, no more Predator movies! If you don't have the budget let's not do anymore!!!

Hollywood showing its wokeness once again. Arnold's team of highly trained soldiers from the first movie with the best weapons gets slaughtered but here we have a 100 lb female with sticks and stones that beats the predator. LOL
Coming from a Native American, I can safely say that this movie is one of the worst predator movies ever made, and an even worse representation of native people. First, nobody in the entire world shoots a bow like they're from Pandora on Avatar, this is absolute fake Hollywood propaganda. Second, the Comanches were known throughout the southwest as being marauders and bandits similar to the Apache. They took women, children , and property, often killing all the grown men. When it came down to it, women were property as well, never warriors. Sorry to say but this pip-squeak of a girl would have been a squaw to a dog soldier, being called a dog soldier because they often ate dogs. Her puppy would have been breakfast. The Comanche became respected for their ability to destroy other tribes without much resistance. That predator wouldn't have lasted ten minutes. Third, why are the predators slowly changing into the typical movie monster. They don't even look like the originals anymore. Sorry, but it doesn't seem to me that the production crew isn't even trying anymore. Who cares about an all native cast, let's get an all native CREW! Scale of one to ten, I give "PREY" about a two.
