The amount of chances he creates with his off the ball runs are not spoken of enough.

I totally agree! Caicedo brings so much energy and skill to the team. It's impressive to see how he impacts the game!

I do agree but the line is thin between caicedo is like the general, Enzo is a baller and cole is silk put the three together and you have a world class spine to build around

@FutbolHistoria88 a lot of things look like there fall into place, I do think if we sign a world class keeper colwill and fofana will go to another level, know sanchez is behind them gives them another thing to think about when they shouldn't have to.

I have loved Enzo fanandez from the first moment I saw him

Fantastic video. I had Enzo completely wrong. I saw him as a 6. First receiver. Regista. Tempo setter. I didn’t think he was athletic enough to cover the pitch as a box to box. I didn’t think he had the no look pass. The shooting ability when under pressure.
At the moment opposition teams are trying to avoid Caicedo when attacking, and mark Palmer out of the game when defending. Enzo may be going under the radar for special treatment right now, this can change.
At the moment his strength to me is running in behind the CB and Full backs from the half space, because Palmer very rarely does it. His positions has also been stand out. His pausing of his runs and constant arriving in the box. Enzo on the pitch looks like a captain, he has from day one.

Seems he has broaden his functionality. I saw him as just deep lying playmaker and regista, but lacks the physicality of a destroyer (traditional dmf). Never thought I would see him improve his final 3rd and goal threat as a Box-to-box.

@ I agree if you mean as a DM. I saw him more as a Busquets, Rodri, Jorginho or Pirlo where there are generally protected from all angles. Similar to Harry Winks at Leicester. Not a Declan Rice, Makelele or Fabinho who hunt the opposition. It’s more about holding your position in the defensive phase and your team mate funnelling the play inside. Enzo is extremely tenacious and loves a tackle. Just not great at doing that when chasing someone down from the blind side like Caicedo is, but fantastic when someone is running directly at him. The way he gets low and reaches in for a tackle in almost a sumo position. I do think he is physical in some sense, but weak in another sense.
But yes I’m stunned at how well he has done recently in what I deemed original a profiling mistake by the scouting and coaching team.

Its very difficult for a team to offer special attention to multiple players without compromising their structure. Especially against Chelsea and the amount of great players we have. Jackson also gets special attention which makes things worse for the opposition. You need a man on jackson always. A man (or 2) on palmer always. Its hard to then dedicate another one on enzo who plays on the opposite side from palmer. As well as covering our wingers. Enzo is benefiting from the fact that teams have prioritized palmer over him. That might change. But we have plenty of players who will take advantage if a team decides to dedicate even more resources to stopping specific players

@ I agree, but you offer the special attention to the guy who you believe is either going to hurt you the most, or the guy who is weakest at defending in that particular zone. Should Enzo make big enough impact then why not give him special attention over the likes of Palmer and Jackson. i.e. Enzo was MOTM today and both Jackson and Palmer were very average. Then you can argue they were average because they got special attention, and Enzo did not.
