You are right about them having fun with this song. When I saw them live earlier this month when they did this song you could not wipe the smile off of Su-Metal's face. It makes me think that this is just her favorite thing right now.
💕 ⚡ 🌸 / 🌞 I'm in full agreement about that stage. It looked like it was about to take off into space. This was the second of two nights at Yokohama, so everyone knew to bring a towel to wave, or to get one at the merch stand. F.HERO from Thailand was a special guest both nights. 2018 was a difficult year for this group, but like the title of this concert says, "BABYMETAL AWAKENS - THE SUN ALSO RISES" . BTW, the support dancer (one of three who rotate) is Kano Fujihira. She is the current President of Sakura Gakuin, a role both Su and Moa held during their time there. Kano will turn 15 in a little over a week.
@Ernest Rimbeck Su and Kano are both around 5' 1". Support dancer Riho is 21, and also around 5' 1". She's 21 years old. Moa is an even 5 feet tall, and Momoko, the other support dancer is 5' 3". She's 16. EDIT: When Su had her own profile page as an Amuse, Inc. artist, her height was listed as 160cm, or just under 5.3.
Su is still 5' 1"? I thought she had grown to 5' 3". Maybe it's just the effect of having a slight heel on her boots. Can we also just take a moment to appreciate how good Kano already is at making the "girl who knows she's cooler than you" face? The Fox God has chosen well. :D
the crowd really added something to this video for me, I really love a mass of people that hyped up! I still have to look up the other two dancers BabyMetal are using right now (I'm still fairly new to Japanese music/metal).
The rapper, F Hero, is from Thailand and his rap is in Thai about a spicy papaya salad. This was filmed in Yokohama the day before they played Glastonbury in the UK - they must have finished here and gone straight to the airport. The audio is the studio recording, but not because the live audio wasn't good - possibly because they wanted to get this out within a couple of days, possibly because that is what they do (they did the same with the videos for 'Gimme Chocolate' and 'The One'). It is quite amusing they hide Su behind a fan's hand when, on the day, she introduced F Hero so you can't see her doing that here.
I've seen a lt of concert footage/live footage videos, I think it just shows the vibe of their live shows. I liked it like that just because seeing the crowd got me pumped up too. I'm going to check out the Glastonbury performance to get the feel of the actual live performance too.
@@TheKagedReview Bear in mind with Glastonbury, it is mainly a pop festival and tickets sell out long before the line up is announced so there were very few (like two or three perhaps) Babymetal (or metal in general) fans there and most were probably just curious to see the opening act on that stage that day. As a result the crowd may seem very flat in comparison to a real Babymetal audience at one of their own shows - or in comparison to a crowd at a rock/metal festival like Download. That didn't stop the girls and the Kami Band being as enthusiastic and energetic as they always are. Oh, the BBC live stream suffered from poor audio mixing as well and they hadn't plugged in both mics for the drums (I think the sound at the show itself was OK though).
Maybe their most hyped song yet, who thought they would be able to top themselves ? It's all about everyone enjoying themselves, the people on the stage and the people in front of the stage. And again as you mentioned, they keep mixing music styles likes nobodies business and making it all work together, seemingly effortlessly. From the fan recorded audio I can hear Su-metal not having any problems with the jumping either (in case someone doubted she couldn't, because it's the studio audio on the Live MV). Live Babymetal is best Babmetal. :-) That's when it all really comes together with a crowd that also commits itself to let themselves go and that joins them in the fun and basically the performance too, because without the crowd the performance is missing something.
The songs started at about 30 on my like-meter (mostly due to prejudices), then quickly rose to 70 after a few listens and then to >90 when experiencing it live.
I've found a couple of BabyMetal songs were the "grow on you" type, for me anyway. This one I liked right off the bat, it's something different- I mean they tend to mix styles but this one for me stood out.
@@TheKagedReview A few days ago we were able to listen to 30s previews of all the new songs due to a reseller leaking promotional material. I think it may still be up somewhere on RUclips or other sites. I only listened to a few seconds of every song. My impression was that they are surprisingly poppy in general, which needn’t be a bad thing. Catchy they are definitely going to be. But first and foremost, it seemed like we‘ll get a very diverse collection of different tunes again, which is awesome. My only minor gripe so far is that pretty much all of the songs (except Shine, IIRC) were well under the 4 minute mark.
Since Yuimetal left they have 3 other girls, called the Avengers in rotation to fill in for Yui ... Su and Moa talked about this already, they're not going to replace Yui. Su also said Yui is too special and will ever be a part of BABYMETAL. In this one it is Riho Sayashi or Rihometal. There's also Kano Fujihara (current Sakura Gakuin president)

That girl is 15 she's already as big as Su and Moa Knowing Su's age I would have guessed the new girl was 22-23

@The Kaged Review - Besides Kano Fujihira, there's also Riho Sayashi, and Momoko Okazaki. I hope that helps. :)
Always more BabyMetal forever! :)

"what an interesting mix of styles" You just defined BABYMETAL in a few words! Kitsune up, Po!
Watching Babymetal with you is one of my great pleasures. I'm looking forward to the next upload. See you! 🌏🦊

I really liked it right off the bat. I think it's catchy as hell. I can't wait for their new material!

Great reaction. I like your comment, specially when you talk about Su. She is fantastic....
she's just incredible! thanks
