Great numbers on the TSR2, but spin does look a little low for a 3 wood. Good driver replacement off the tee, but maybe not as good going into greens ?
Player dependent for sure. If Danny was to hit down on the ball more his spin would come up, which is why he plays a 7 wood as his fairway gamer - Thomas
I carry the Ping G425 Max in 5 and 7 wood. Only ones I've tried that I feel confident I can fly high and spin enough to stop on a green. Most other fairways have numbers like this for me. Smash is good, looks good on LM, but just too flat flying to use off the fairway.
been gaming the TSR2 15° for almost 2 years and i like it, but i wish i wouldn’t have sold my TSI2 15° wood. i think the TSI2 is the absolute best 3 wood i have ever hit.
I like that idea, sometimes you can get a warm up effect but if the club speed is about the same time you can focus pretty closely on the numbers - Thomas
Yeah good point. I think the numbers will seem a bit more believable if you get the warmup effect on the oldest clubs (speaking for me there). But anyway, as a long-time fan of Titleist woods and driver, I already started saving up to get fitted on a full set of TSR woods :p
With your numbers today the TSR2 would be great off the tee but it's not holding a green for a second shot on a par 5. That spin is too low. Maybe I missed it and you teed everything up.
whats the reasoning behind this? hitting up on a fairway wood is no bueno especially 4.4 degrees... maybe try and hit down on it to give more accurate representation of what these can do
Correct right around 0 degrees or even half a degree down if perfect for a fairway wood but everyone swings different. I can tell you I have a hard time hitting down on a fairway wood as well. Maybe from hitting so many shots off a matt in Minnesota half the year - Thomas
These guys are so full of it lol.. went from a tsi2 224 yards to tsr2 252 yards. Gained 28yards from a 3 wood 🙄. I understand you're trying to sell clubs, but at least make it more believable.
Why would a one dimensional club that goes 10 yards less than his driver and can’t be used to approach greens on par 5s go in the bag? I bet it’s a good club for a ton of players. But has no business going in Danny’s bag.
I have a fitting with Titleist for a 3 wood this thursday...can't wait.
Let us know how it goes! - Thomas
I appreciate you using a relatively average golfer swinging this club so we can see how forgiving the clubs really are.
Thanks. Our goal is to include more contributors for testing to cover all golfers abilities - Thomas

Glad to see y’all filming outdoors.
why did attack angle change so much from the 917 to the others?
Justin Thomas still uses the 917 in a 5 wood. Just shows the importance of being comfortable in a fairway wood.
3-4 yards won't make a difference. better to have more trust than 3-5 yards gain.

Spin is important to control a the ball flight and give you a chance to stop the ball - Thomas
same here. i’m trying to hit my woods a certain distance. don’t need extra distance on it from rollout
Love it how can I get one tsr2 plus

I wouldn’t want to be getting fitted by this guy just based on his swing 😅

I will be sticking with the TS2 for some time. Great review. Can you reverse the clubs next time and let him hit the newest first?

In statistics an N of 3 is completely useless data! Please don’t draw conclusions on 3 hits everyone!!

Good feedback. That is exactly why Danny games a 7 wood - Thomas
If he had started with the tsr and then moved on to the older clubs the results would be entirely different.
It's possible. Danny was already warmed up but I like the idea to change it up or come back for a 2nd round to ensure there is no bias - Thomas

I wish these tests would start with the newest stuff and go older. How do we know he didn't just get warmed up?
Yo who is gonna tell him you want to take a divot after the ball not before it. Lmfao
Thanks for watching - Thomas

It'd be a decent driver, but I'll take either of the other 3 for my 3 wood forsure
He definitely needs a 16.5* fwy wood
Good observation. Danny actually plays higher lofted fairways like a 7 & 9 wood - Thomas
TSi2 will be hard to beat
25 yards roll with 3-wood. good luck with getting on the green with that much roll.

Great point. Gapping is key! Danny actually plays a 7 wood in his bag - Thomas
Was Drew saying "fairy" wood?
Haha that's funny - Thomas
