I'm from Sri Lanka, and I find it quite strange to hear that Black Tea is made from old leaves. This is highly inaccurate, as far as where I am from. The majority of Sri Lankans drink Black Tea everyday, and it is always made using the leaf bud, or the first three tender leaves. There may be differences in processing depending on different countries, but I believe it is highly incorrect to say that Black Tea in general is made from old leaves.
This is probably just AI generated
I get my black tea imported from Sri Lanka or turkey I love it
I think what Jason is trying to say is the leaves are aged, not old off plants
Honestly: A very dishonest marketing video.
1. Caffeine content isn't as easily comparable as you make it seem here. It depends on many factors such as cultivar, roasting, which leaves were picked, etc. You'll find lower caffeine green teas and higher caffeine black teas. The general comparison you're making is dishonest. Especially since you're comparing an average cup of black tea to a premium cup of green tea. At least you're accounting for brewing temperature.
2. Just generally saying that black tea is often made from older leaves is irrelevant and wrong, because that's not an inherent property of black tea. There are black teas made from younger leaves as well. And there are green teas made from older leaves too (e.g. Bancha). Also: Nutrient density of tea is low, it won't really contribute to covering your daily needs anyways.
3. You don't cite ANY study whatsoever when talking about health benefits. That's just lazy and dishonest. Either you find data supporting your case or you shouldn't make that case.
4. Cold brews work with both teas. Whether you like one or the other more is just a matter of taste or opinion. It's not a fact as you make it seem in this video. I've had bad cold brew green teas and phenomenal cold brew black teas. It also just depends on the kind of black tea you're cold brewing.
Same goes for the flavour profile. The flavour profile is not a factual "benefit" of green tea. Some people like green tea better, some like black tea better. It's just a matter of opinion.
In conclusion: This video is literally just a bad marketing video. You're trying to sell your teas, I get that, but please don't use dishonest videos like that for marketing purposes. Just stay with the facts, cite studies and don't present your opinion (on versatility and taste) as an absolute truth.
The fact that 9 people liked this comment is mind boggling
@@CoryHobbs2178why?
@@CoryHobbs2178 Could you elaborate?
All of this is correct. I believe this is because nio sells Japanese teas which are 99 percent green and therefore choose to ignore the wealth of high quality blacks that can be found in china india Kenya and the like.
Sorry to anecdote but for one, dianhong golden tips are black teas made from the young tips and buds of the leaf.
Caffeine levels among the same crop don't actually vary much based on how the leaf is processed.
@@phill234 elaborate on what? You asking for studies to validate a spokesperson for a company's opinion?
I could rewatch the video, I don't believe they were passing off anything as fact.
The exceptions that you talk about are in no way the rule. The vast majority of black tea is cheap bullshit. That's not to say there can't be very good quality and very beneficial black tea that exists.
As far as health benefits I don't know much about black tea, but does the black tea contain the same impressive level of antioxidants and l-theanine? I don't actually know, I only drink matcha.
The best tea is ,,,,. the one you enjoy and drink the most!
Black tea is easier on an empty stomach though I love both equally well.
black tea team like
👇
Haha😂 You loose green tea win
Unused black tea bag smells like cigarette. I like it.
“A battle is brewing”
I talked to a friend of mine whose from the that region and they said to me green tea is green tea and black tea is black tea they both have good benefits and ones no better than the other. They all have good benefits black green black tea no difference.
they are both delicious and very good for you! There is a difference in the chemical composition however due to the oxidation process.
All my research included that black tea has more caffeine compared to green tea? This is strange because this video includes that green has more caffeine when in comparison 🎉
BUT❤ I get a very nice effect from a itoen oolong tea shot with a one square of unsweetened backing chocolate, just one square ,preferably the ghirardelli brand, something I don’t get from the itoen green tea shots, on an empty stomach, Is almost similar than a glass of red wine , without the alcohol effects
I'm so glad you like this! I use to drink lots of those Ito En oolongs
Drink all the types of tea, that's why it's superior to coffee! Coffee has one real method which is "take seeds and roast" and tea has all these methods where flavor can vary greatly. You can taste the raw burst of vegetation coming to life in the spring, or you can taste a leaf from later in the season that was taken during trimming and roasted slightly. You can have a freshly made first flush black tea from the mountainous regions of India and Nepal or you can have a complex fuzzy tipped Chinese hongcha. We even have tea that gets better with age, unlike coffee which goes stale in a matter of weeks!
eh, coffee is similar in that it tastes wildly different depending on where it comes from. and combining the beans from different places can get you unique flavor profiles. it can also change depending on how you make it. coffee also mixes with other ingredients much better than tea does in general.
honestly, no clue why they are always compared. they are two very different kinds of drink that are similar at first glance.
...we're going to compare green tea and black tea...
You need to compare regular green tea vs black not some japanese 1 bilion$ exclusive green tea
Very interesting. I find myself having and no interest in anything except matcha. However, I will try the free Sencha that came with my last order 😊
I'm so glad you like the matcha! Just so you know, we have a great deal going on right now where you can save 10% off on all tea and teaware for halloween. It will expire today: nioteas.com/collections/halloween-sales
@@Nioteas thank you! I think I'm all set. Just staying stocked up on matcha. I keep coming back to the Sakamoto Sae, despite other more premium choices. It just hits my taste just right. I need to make another big order soon haha
The real winner is Oolong tea.
yes it is kind of in between!
simple marketing...
It is my dream for green tea to be the staple source of caffeine for our future generations, rather than coffee.
Yes I really hope so too! By the way, if you want to learn more about green tea, you can get our ebook for free which contains 100 pages on all the best information we’ve learned during our travels around Japan. You can get it here: nioteas.com/pages/ebook-discount-code
I’m sure this will be a super unpopular opinion but I love a good ol black tea from a tea bag. Hard to beat a cup of Yorkshire gold or tetley British blend.
Black tea wakes up Stem Cells. Black tea wins all day.
I'm glad to hear you like it!
Good to know! I never knew this, I wonder if oolong tea does the same.
This is like a commerical selling Japanese green tea. Unfair judging of other kind of tea
thank you for watching!
