We were there a few weeks ago and made it a point to see this. I read somewhere that the entrance pathway is oriented to the sun rising on Beltane and by happenstance that was the exact day we visited. Behind that pathway entrance in this video you see a gate. If it's unlocked as it was when we visited, go through it. A few steps behind the shrubbery you'll find a modern fairy circle all set up where modern revelers obviously find occasion to have a high tea! Cheers. Thank you for this video.
This is my favourite time in Irish history ! I was very interested in your interpretation of the word lios as Grange. Ann ar canan lios mhor, an Eilean lios mhor, is interpreted as big garden. The differences between Ireland and Scotland. Direach sgoinnnel a rithist!
Many of these words can have more than one meaning, and over time gain new ones. Scots Gaelic and Irish are very similar, but because of differences in the way they are written, I find Scots Gaelic very difficult to understand (but I have a feeling if I did a couple of classes in Scots gaelic, I would overcome this difficulty. Another example is ditch. In many English speaking countries is a trench, in Ireland it is a small wall! Or to me and other Irish Bold means bad (like Dana), to other English speakers it means Brave!
Hi you said the Grooved Ware people are thought to have built it, and these Grooved ware peoples seem to have originated from the Orkneys where there are loads of sites dating back over 5000 years also with some of the most famous Neolithic era building anywhere in Northern Europe(Ring of Brodgar, Maeshowe, Ness of Brodgar with a 5000year old Temple complex!) the Grooved ware people were also responsible for Stone-henge!, It's amazing to consider the impact these people had across these Isle's.
An amazing impact! I must admit I don't know much about them. Indeed, I think more should be known about them, considering the impact (and since they appear to have started in the Orkneys... Some impact!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I will have to look for the fairy circle next time I visit. There is a lot of interesting stuff in the region.
Great job. Thanks
Thank you again!

Grooved ware i think, not wear? Sorry to nitpick. I'm thinking Beaker culture, in NL. Ancestors 💚.
@Eline Eugenie 😄 good spot, edited 👌
The circle has an echo to magnify sound. Try standing in the middle and clapping. It’s cool.
I will! It is a good excuse to go back!
