I'm especially curious to know how your DR Horton home is holding up 18 months later. Can you tell us??

We have not had any major issues. We submitted 2 warranty requests: one for a wall switch that wasn't working, and a second for no strike plate behind front door so when wind caught it put a hole in the wall. Both were taken care of.

Agree that the second kitchen floor plan is much nicer and it's better to have the slider to the back yard for better natural light, and a larger covered lanai, but can you fit a table and chairs (so you don't have to eat at the counter all the time) and also a sofa in the rest of the space on the ground floor? The area looks pretty small. I guess the bottom line is that in the smaller homes, you have to decide what is most important.
Also is there going to be actual street parking (after construction is complete and the homes are open)? Or just areas for guest parking stalls? If no street parking, for those who don't want to park in their garage, it would be important to look at driveway space and whether it's a big enough size for a vehicle. From the drone video, I'd wonder if the line of homes on the freeway side have shorter driveways. Hard to tell from a video.

That’s a solar tube. My dad has one and then my brother decided to install in his house.
I agree second one is more desirable.

The problem with living by the highway is …if you close
your windows to avoid the noise you no longer have the trades blowing through and cooling down the house..
I like to bring the outside in and have my windows open. Why live in Hawaii if you can’t do that? When closing windows it can get stuffy in the house and now you are reliant on your AC. HECO loves people who love AC. Another high bill…and that’s not what you need living in Hawaii! I would never buy a home near a highway. Just no way. It defeats the purpose.
