fascinating hearing about how the original is almost lost to time! i agree that the stories of archival make this much more interesting. i'm glad there are folks sleuthing out lost media, and more folks like yourselves helping to showcase these pieces, regardless of their quality!
oh this video was really neat. is this the first italian movie youre covering? really interesting how it's lost media and all that. there are some scenes that are somewhat familiar, i dont know if its a placebo effect or smth since im italian too, but i do remember seeing a cartoon that struck me a bit as a kid with the wolf and stuff, but it was probably from another vhs i had. still, i wonder how actually listenable the original lost italian version and the redub in italian are, if they are as insufferable as the english one lmao. the animation and designs were really cute and well made tho!
Whitney was at their prime in this video on how much they did not like this XD I need to use fif-faf from now on! Narrators should remain for baby shows where characters don't talk and it's just music and sound effects.
Oh my goodness, you guys are gonna hate "David and the Magic Pearl" and "The Magic Voyage" when you get to that. Because as you said at the beginning of the video, it's just all talking and noise. This is just heads up for those two...
A FULL HOUR of cartoon!? What a value!!!
Where else are you gonna get a FULL HOUR of cartoon?! What a steal

I just realized that my brain works like this dub. It never stops talking.
6:27 I was literally just thinking about that and then you just said it...whoa...
1983 is a good year. I can't wait to see it!

They did cover other Italian films before, like The Singing Princess, Allegro Non Troppo, West and Soda.
Apparently, Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad was the voice of the Tin Soldier. I hope that's true cause that's wild.
he originally did voice acting
