Begging to disagree. The GSA is the most comfy bike we've had and we've had two RTs, a 1600 GTL and a K1200LT. The GSA has the best leg positions and super comfy suspension and seat cushioning. GSA everytime every day. And we've been all over Europe two up on each one of them so that's one up for the GSA !👍
Nice review. I have the exact same bike with the same accessories in addition to the Navi. I paid$24800 OTD. I replaced the stock windshield from the GSA as it really gives better coverage. Also the bike DOES come with self cancelling signals
I bought the exact same model in Feb (my first ever GS) and love it. So far its toured Norway/Sweden & Spain and it just loves those twisties. I feel very comfortable on it, and that lovely 1250 engine gives you a lot of confidence throwing it around in any gear (lots of torque). I've had no problems with my shift gear although I still use the clutch in 1&2. I love the engine braking on this bike, you hardly have to touch the real things. The price in the UK (fully loaded) is around £18000. PS...Mine came with the SOS button, yours doesn't !
Top unbiased review thank you from th UK. Question...how was 1st to 2nd gear using the clutch? Thinking of buying one fo these and the reports of clunky gear changes is bothering me a bit. Thank you in advance
It’s fine. The quick-shifter can be a little clunky in 1st and 2nd but fine if accelerating strongly (when it is most useful). Manual shifts are butter smooth.
I would expect the GSA,rather than the GS to reach $30k kitted out.I haven’t ridden one of these yet, but if it’s anything like the RT, it will be a tough call.Great review, thank you.👍👍
Great review as always thanks. Im torn between this and the Tiger 1200 XRT. Do you prefer this over your Tiger? My wife is a big Tiger fan and loves the heated seat. Thanks in advance
@@CaliMotoTV Thanks for the reply. I think it may be Tiger as they have some great deals on and I am literally 50/50 on each bike. Had a Tiger before but never a BMW and love the exclusive paint scheme. Keep up the good work. Cheers
The shift cam definitely works. I can hear a small blip when it kicks in. And the power snaps my neck. Hill Start Assist is awesome, especially two up. I replaced my wind screen with the Puig, same styling but taller - it's perfect. I also put on "up and back" bar risers on it. Love this bike.
I've just watched this video, and bmw says that you shouldn't use the quick shifter between 1st and 2nd, and that's the big jault you are feeling when you are using the quick shifter between 1st and 2nd.....I've watched a few of your videos with different 1250 boxers and you say the same thing, I had the 1200 GS which was the model before the 1250, and was told not to shift between 1st and 2nd with the QS....by my bmw-motorrad dealership.
could you briefly explain the differences between the GS spec bike you used in this video vs. a similarly speced GSA Exclusive (other than the obvious larger gas tank)? What do you get with the GSA that you don't get with the GS???? I've priced the GSA with similar options to the bike in the video and it was also $30k.
@@CaliMotoTV that’s good to know, thank you. Just rode one on the weekend and looking at buying a 2021 triple black but wasn’t sure about the extra bags you had strapped on.
@@CaliMotoTV thanks again. I was looking at a Multi and the 1000xr but the GS is the best bike I have ever ridden in my 24 years of riding bikes. Thanks again and awesome vids!
Good vid for 2 up info... couple of criticisms ask your missus to close her visor and I am blown away at how many people don't know that you need to be shifting a higher RPM this is not a car people.
I doubt there is anyway to smooth out the jump from first through neutral then to second with out some kind of clunkiness. An operator using the clutch would probably make it very smooth lol or a DCT from Honda. I don’t understand the actual need of a quick shifter on a utilitarian adventure bike, a track day sport bike yes, but not much else, that’s just me though
Also, I thought it had ride modes that affect performance, i didn’t hear you mention putting the bike in dynamic mode and I think it would probably work better
Pls follow traffic rules @7.02 & @7.14 Everyone is watching & following you. One is supposed to stop before white line right? Thank you for good review along with wife. In most cases very less couple agree on same points / issues 😬😬.
@@CaliMotoTV why do you look confused, quick shifters I've found don't work very well from 1st to 2nd but from 3rd up there ok. So use the clutch for 1st and 2nd gear changes.😁
Why do you insist on taking a hand off the handlebars, we can't see what you are pointing at anyway, be a responsible driver. Right now you are driving illegally. Ban example for new motorcycle riders. Shame on you!

Rob, do you ride with standard GS seat in low or high position?

My dream bike but i do like the GSA with the HP colors

No.
My 1200 up shifter is the same...I use clutch 2nd and 3rd
My 2014 R1200RT has auto canceling signal after 300 meters. I believe that's factory standard
Can you do a 2up video on the Multistrada Enduro?
Nice review! What was your technique to record the audio from both riders?
@@CaliMotoTV yes...post production edit. The extra work shows the professional sound quality. Thank you and keep up the great work!
How about a review of the 2019 Ducati 1260s Multistrada Touring
In the US a fully loaded GS can be had for around $22k. A GSA around $25k I don`t know where your getting 30K ?

Every bike is made better by riding alone.
👍
Standard or Low kit buddy?
Does the lack room on the back have anything to do with the bags strapped to the panniers?
