Incredible graphic document. These accidents are the daily bread when you are a pilot who takes risks to get great shots. I think you deserve to grow on this platform because your edits are at a very professional level.
Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it and I am happy that you enjoy the content I create 🙂 Funny thing is, in Madeira I took way more risk to get those superclose water shots and I was fine, and in Iceland I was not flying risky at all. The crash simply happened because I noticed this rock appendix too late 😉 And as I told you in the other comment, editingwise this is my girlfriends work this time 🙂
insane clips man good job!
Appreaciated, really. Thank you!
That was a pretty good story and most likely an even better adventure off the script for you guys 😁👍 The drone must be stoked as well. Leave no one behind 😅
Yeah well, things happen for a reason I guess :) When we went to Iceland, we were thinking about a story we could make a video about... and then destiny just gave us one :)
@@t0mwhazzup All of this wouldn't have happened if you didn't get the Avata to Iceland. Good things happen but we all need to take the first step or two to open that window of opportunity 🙃
@@DFD1 True words 🙂
one of the most underrated channels on YT!
Thank you so much, it means a lot! Cheers :)
sick
Thanks 🙂
Amazing footage and really nice color grading! Glad to hear that you could recover the drone :)
Thank you so much for your nice comment! I really appreciate it! Editing and grading was done by my girlfriend, but I'll let her know 🙂
Amazing footage of a wonderful country !! Well done 😉
Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Such a beautiful video of a truly stunning landscape! Glad the drone survived and you were able to recover the footage! Well done
Thanks for your nice comment 🙂
The impact happened with almost 60 km per hour, I was really surprised that the drone survived it that well 😅
@@t0mwhazzup wow! That's impressive
Great footage and beautiful video despite the crash 🙂
Thank you very much for your nice feedback 🙂 I appreciate it!

Thank you 🙂
Hey Tom,
I'll be attending the Drohnen-Forum Österreich 2024 on January 24, 2024, hosted by the BMK and Austro Control. Should you also be attending, looking forward to meeting you there! Should this not be the case - are there any issues you would consider important to raise? (Of course, I can't really promise anything since I'll just be a very small cog in the giant machinery that this aviation gathering is.)
Cheers.
Hi Christian, unfortunately no, I'm on my way to Tenerife right now. Thanks for asking. Not really much. The only thing that comes to my mind is a very specific one: when you want to get authorization to operate your drone within LO R15 (Vienna), it is practically impossible to get authorization for drones above 250 g because you're required to get a "Absperrgenehmigung" from MA46 - which you will never be able to get when you fly for small commercial projects. That "Absperrgenehmigung" is a requirement of the Austro Control. I think it is way overkill to completely have to get the flight area free pf people and cars when you want to use something like a DJI Air 3 (C1 class, around 700 grams). In relation to the number and severity of drone incidents in Austria, I'd say this is ridiculous. And if you think that only well trained drone pilots would apply for an authorization that costs several hundred Euros, I don't really see why Austro Control practically inhibits drone pilots do use for example C1 drones within LO R 15.
Thanks for asking and have an interesting and fun day tomorrow 🙂
Being on the way to Tenerife doesn't sound particularly "unfortunate" to me 😉
Yeah, the situation in Vienna might be my main reason for attending in the first place (even for < 250g the situation is somewhat ridiculous for certified pilots). If I get the chance, I'll definitely bring that up. Unfortunately, as it stands, many influential stakeholders seem to be in favor of the current regulation.
Well, who knows, steter Tropfen höhlt den Stein. Have fun in Tenerife, looking forward to your video 👍
Yeah, I don't really see why you'd need an authorization for C0/sub 250g drones there anyway. VFR is above 500ft/150m AGL, drones can only go up to 400ft/120m AGL. And as long as your obligated to submit a flight plan, there shouldn't be a problem with Christophorus helicopters or other low flying aircraft. I have talked to Christophorus pilots because of a project of mine, and they told me that they appreciate me asking beforehand. They usually don't have objections against drone operation, but they want to know for their operations.
The argument I'd throw in tomorrow would be that people (drone pilots) will fly anyway (as they do now), so it'd be better if it was made more accessible, cheap (or free) and easy for anyone to fly (with flight plan so that TWR LOWW knows about the drones in the air) so that more flights would be conducted in a legal and controlled manner. And that the operational risk, at least with C0/C1 drones is very low.
Thanks for trying!

@@t0mwhazzup Hey Tom, so quick update on the drone forum:
I didn't actually have to speak up at all, as exactly this issue was already prominently addressed by one of Dronetech's representatives, earning him a substantially deep sigh that went through the plenum... 😅 They have apparently been repeatedly trying to obtain a permission for drone-driven façade inspections in Vienna, these ventures have [of course] proven less than fruitful so far. I also brought this up during coffee breaks, pointing out the negative impact current stringent rules have on conducting business in our field of expertise. Well, what can I say, the BMK is very well aware of the issue, it is in "kooalitionärer Feinabstimmung"... 😵
Waiting for some impressive footage from Tenerife! 🤪
too much editing, not enough content.
Thanks for your comment! Could you specify what should be different for you?
Top Video!!! Nice Aufnahmen.

Dankeschön, freut mich sehr 🙂
